Great Floors Brantford

We hired Great floors based on the reviews last year. The initial contact was great, lot’s of promises that they could do the job in our timeline, didn’t happen! The person that tore out our old flooring was ok despite being the only person it should have been 2 of them but he was brought jn from another location and just him. There was some things that happened and we were not informed. The old carpet & flooring was not removed in a timely manor and sat at our front door for days despite being promised it would be removed multiple times. We had warnings from the condo board to remove and it still wasn’t. After 5 days it was finally removed. The installation was not good. I knew going in that our townhouse was dated and it would not be perfect however the workmanship was terrible. Dents in my walls, missed flooring & they did not clean up well either we had to hire a cleaner, painter and someone to repair the wall before the painter and install the closet doors they did not put back on. I tried contacting them many times to find out when they will be completing the repairs and work and my last message in March was I will assume you are finished and won’t be completing so lets call it even and we will find someone else to finish. I Tried since January to get answers and this is now mid June and not one word except for an invoice today for the balance…. Do not recommend this company.

We recently renovated our home and experienced such great service from Great Flooring in Brantford. They had such an abundance of selection for flooring and carpet. Ronnie was an absolute pleasure to work with, had great recommendations, understood what we were looking for and wanted to accomplish. The selection we chose with Ronnie’s assistance for both tile and carpet was perfect and turned out beautifully. We will continue to use Great Flooring for future projects!

My husband and I recently worked with Melissa and her staff renovating 2 bathrooms. From the moment I spoke with Melissa I knew we were in great hands. Melissa chatted on the phone with me, attended our home and spent time getting to know what we wanted the final outcome to look and feel like. We spent an abundance of time in the showroom and never did I feel rushed. Melissa is a designer and she was able to bring to life a pallet that we loved. The execution of the project was amazing and everything she suggested and picked with us pulled together exactly as she said it would. The second bathroom was for our teenage daughter and there was a real rustic feel to our basement and our daughters room. Melissa nailed it and it is a show stopper.

Melissa is phenomenal at what she does and I was blown away by the clean lines and spa like feel in both bathrooms once completed. Melissa is honest, reliable, energetic and passionate about the designs she picks. More importantly we felt like we were here only clients when she was with us. Melissa went above and beyond qualities that are highly admireable. We highly recomend Melissa and her team and look forward to working with her and her team again. Cheers Seana.

Tried to find a time to visit their showroom to pick out tiles - as I have a very busy work schedule that doesn't accommodate me being able to visit places during the day. So evening and weekend appointments only work, however upon reach out it was very clear with my communications with the salesman - that I was inconveniencing him even asking for evening or weekend appointments. When finally agreeing to 6pm meeting I was met with an email of "can you arrive as early as possible though" I would make an earlier appointment if I could, like I said! When I pointed out it was evident I was inconveniencing him and would not be attending the appointment - no response was given or any effort to save the deal. I am renovating an entire basement with various types of flooring - poor salesman communication just lost you the opportunity for a loyal and long term customer.

On April 5th 2021 we had measurements taken and were promised a quote within 24-48hrs. Today is July 28th and we still have nothing from them. Also worth noting, on April 5th we had to contact Great Floors Brantford to remind them of our quote appt. At the point of 2hrs late for the appt we realized they had forgotten.
I followed up numerous times over the coming weeks/months trying to speak to different people to help us out. Of the 6-7 calls I made, people I spoke to and messages I left I received only 1 call back with a voice mail telling me they were still working on it.
With the interest of trying to support local, and wanting a top quality product and job done I am extremely disappointed in the low level of customer interest that Great Floors Brantford demonstrated. With ON now opening up at least we have more options to explore.
If you value your time, and if you expect to be treated decently my advice would be to leverage the showroom at Great Floors Brantford, find what you like, and source it elsewhere. Their showroom truly is best in class so at least take full advantage of that. And if they throw the line “we’re just a small family owned company. ” at you, take a step back and look at the showroom again. There is nothing mom and pops about that operation. They played us with that empathy card, and then treated us in completely the opposite way.

My spouse and I recently worked with Sean Lovell and his recommended installers. Must say, from sample procurement to the actual installation, everything was on point. Thanks so much Sean for making this experience super seamless!

Recently bought flooring here (engineered hardwood) for a renovation to our home. Good service, friendly and knowledgeable staff with a good selection of flooring. Just be aware of the high restocking and return fees they charge. We ended up with more than we needed and had to return 6 never opened and never used boxes (less than 5 days after we picked it all up) and were charged almost $200 for "re-stocking". Just be aware of that if you are hoping to have a few extra boxes as a "just in case" like you do with any reno, but then need to return them for whatever reason, its costly. So you best be spot on with your calculations and any overages.to the cm.

Ive had my kitchen tile done by Scott Forgie, hands down best tile job/installer i have seen. Knowledge, advice and options before and during the job is top notch. Can answer any question you have and is always willing to show his past work to give you a clear visual on what he has done.
He will be doing the tile work for the rest of my house!

I wanted to thank you and, in particular, Ronnie Torti, for the great service that we received from Simpson Carpet.

We recently completed a major home renovation that included a re-flooring of the entrance, stairs and main level of our home. We were very pleased with the product and overall the installation except, I am sorry to say, for the stairs.

When we had dealt with Rob in the store, he had explained the various ways that our stairs could be finished and although more costly, we opted for the higher end and nosing style to give the stairs a better finish and overall appearance. I am sorry to say that the end product of the stairs was far from what we expected and resulted in a foot step that was shorter making use of the stairs awkward and difficult for climbing.

Ron Torti came to the house and did a wonderful re-work of the steps and provided a professional and more elegant finish to the stairs. We are extremely pleased with the work that he did and his willingness to ensure that we were totally satisfied with the end product. His workmanship and professionalism is outstanding and he represents your store to the highest standards. He was even gracious enough to make some small repairs to the flooring in the kitchen where some gaps were showing under the cabinetry.

We felt that it was important to let you know that Simpson Carpet has been more than accommodating in not only providing a great product with excellent store staff but follow-up for customer satisfaction.

We still have another re-model to do in our home and we will certainly be back to Simpson Carpet.

New flooring is tricky with home renovations, we knew that going in! Great Floors had a large selection and gave us samples to take home. This helped with the first challenge in deciding what we liked best. We are very happy with the flooring we chose. Our flooring was installed in sections, while we relocated furniture and lived in another part of the house. Someone was at home for the first installation, but not the second and third. Would recommend being at home, if possible. It is helpful if you can be there to pick up on installation issues while they are happening. As it was, Great Floors was very accommodating and had to be amazingly creative in solving a flooring transition issue and fixing a minor installation glitch. Jamie was wonderful, saying “There are no problems, only solutions”. Then we were introduced to Ronnie, the man who fixes everything. Thank you. We are realistic people. Did not expect this kind of job to be done without a hitch. The fact that Great Floors, Ronnie and Jamie continued to work with us until things were right was greatly appreciated by our family. Thanks to their expertise and determination, we now have great new floors!

We had heated tile floors installed in our bathroom & it was positive experience from beginning to end. In store staff were great with selecting tile & grout colour & were able to accommodate our tight timeline. Scott who came to install the tiles was fantastic! My husband & I are super fussy & in 18 years of home ownership & renos we honestly have never had better work done in our house than the work done by Scott. Thanks Simpsons Great Floors & Scott!

We have used Great Floors a few times now and always deal with Amanda who has been incredible and always finds the right product for us, she really goes above and beyond every time. We had Scott install a mosaic tile floor and tile the shower for our bathroom and it turned out amazing, he is so professional and knows his trade very well. His work was immaculate and I couldn’t recommend him enough!

You can buy tiles anywhere, but finding a great installer is another story. I have had a few bad experiences in the past where the work was no better than what I could have done myself. Scott Forgie from Great Floors Brantford did an entire fireplace in quarts ledgestone for me. He did it in one day, he left no mess, and it is PERFECT. Could not possibly ask for more.

My kitchen floor, laundry room, and bathroom shower tile installed by Scott Forgie from this store are quite literally perfect and put other tile jobs in my home (done by other contractors) to shame. He takes the time to explain the differences between the best work and the mediocrity of others, but he also doesn't have to because the difference is apparent in his results. A true craftsman who not only takes pride in his work, but he also treats each installation like it was his own home. There is no tile question that he can't answer and his advanced knowledge of the trade makes it clear to see that he is a rare find in his field.
With decades of premium installation experience and trained in the craft by his father from a young age, I truly believe that Scott is the best craftsman tile installer in the province.
He is so good that word has gotten out, and those who want "The Best" have paid the extra fuel, hotel, and travel costs to have him do jobs in places far outside his typical service area. Bottom line: When you want the best installer, ask for Scott Forgie.

We were in need of a piece of commercial carpet, at the last minute for a Home Show. Went to Great Floors and they did not disappoint. They had the carpet in stock that we needed, at a great price. Had great service from Shawn in the warehouse who was able to trim the carpet to the dimensions that we needed. A+ We got carpet for our stairs leading up to our 2nd floor and needed something specific. Amanda came to our home and measured the space to quote and went over options that she thought would work for us and advised the most cost effective way to get the look and plush feel that we wanted by spending a little more on a really good underlay. It made a lot of sense. When we saw the samples, we were very pleased as she understood exactly what we were looking for and picked out carpet that worked beautifully in the space. She is very knowledgeable and friendly and took the time to help us through the whole process. We would definitely recommend her especially for anyone that is not sure what they want as she has a keen eye for what will work. The installers were also very competent and were able to get us the fitted look we wanted even though we have shallow nosing? On the upper steps. I didn’t want the “waterfall” look. The whole experience was great and we will definitely be dealing with Amanda and Great Floors Brantford for our future needs!

Great place to go. Amanda was so helpful with matching bathroom tiling with the counter top samples I brought in. Installer Scott's work was excellent. Love the in-floor heating Scott installed in a few of our bathrooms. Scott is meticulous at his job and we were very happy with his work.

On two occasions i have required carpet work within my home (one large job, one small). Both occasions i had Tom and Don instal the flooring. I dont usually write reviews but the professionalism, quality of work and finished product was second to non. I would recomend Tom and Don to anyone who is looking for a new floor. Great Floors Brantford is a business I strongly recommend. No project is to small! My customers receive the best customer service from Sean Lovell! Sean is very good with helping my customers select the perfect flooring from engineer flooring to tile flooring to the accent backsplash.

We recently completed building our new home and had jeff from Simpson great floors install the engineered hardwood floors, He did an amazing job, he had a great team with him, was there early in the morning and they worked hard even though it was very hot, he was done the job sooner than planned because of that. They cleaned up all the junk and took it away.
We later had Scotty install all the tile in the house, and he did a great job making suggestions and planning the layouts, taking his time to do it well and it really showed in the end results, he was pleasant to deal with and cleaned up all the leftovers every day and took it away.
In the store we dealt with Sean who was a great help in making decisions, he was pleasant and prompt in getting back to us! We had warmboard subflooring in the house and he really did his research beforehand and because of that he was able to recommend the best practices for the installs.
We have used Simpson in the past and always had a good experience, highly recommend these 3 individuals if your going there!
