Green Bean Café

I’ve never tried the food or drinks here but my friend did and I witnessed her say in real time that it kind of sucked so I doubt I’ll give it a try. I did ask the purple haired girl once if they sold alcohol and she gave me this big lecture on how they stopped selling it and she rudely said to me that I’d be “1 in 6 people who would buy it” and she kind of looked at me like I was a fungus growing off a foot when I tried to crack some jokes to lighten her bad vibes. Like girl, you could have just said “no”. This other guy who works there was very sweet and welcoming and I do like his vibes, and there’s another woman who works there who’s also nice, so please hire more people like them next time. The music they play here is nice and it’s refreshing to not get your ears blown out by pop radio (unlike at Harvey’s), although it wouldn’t hurt to play more 60’s music (but it probably won’t happen since I kind of just dissed this place but I thought I’d give it a go lol). The customers here are very nice, I’ve gotten complemented on my outfits a few times here so shoutout to those people for making my day better! Overall pretty nice for a place that’s catered towards hip university kiddos.

A lovely cafe, many university students come to study. The owner is very kind. They have gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free options.

Excellent customer service and tasty lunch food. Tea was prepared fast and tasty. Prices are pretty normal for a café, making it more appealing than starbucks for me. Atmosphere is also really full and unique.

The Green Bean is an cool venue that is severely struggling right now due to Covid. Go help them stay afloat and order some food. The Casey Jones grilled cheese is AMAZING!

A Windsor gem! A very hip place to go, with a relaxed atmosphere. The drinks and paninis are really tasty. It's a very comfortable place to hang out and it's usually fairly lively. Students and professors all love this place.

Such a cosy and comfortable little cafe in the basement of the church. There are private events that happen occasionally and the cafe will be closed for public. Great place for socially interactive activities. Thanks for doing what you do.

I love Green Bean. The staff is great, the atmosphere is very comfortable, and they are a great contributor to the local community. The events board always has some neat stuff happening in the area. The coffee and food are all great and prepared with care, and very fairly priced.

Everything about this place is great, the ambiance is so cozy, the people are friendly and the food and beverages are delicious.

We had our staff Christmas party at Green Bean this year - awesome food, staff, and atmosphere. Best Christmas party we have had in 10 years. Highly recommend.

The customer service here is horrible. The cafe is filled with students, and there was a general consensus among all of the tables that the music was really abrasive. It was really loud rock music. I simply requested to the barista that if possible, the cafe lower it. Obviously I know this is not my establishment, and it is a general request. The barista kindly said he’d see what he could do. That should have been the end of it, but his manager came to our table and was pretty aggressive. He seemed offended - butt-hurt, for lack of a better description. He spoke down to us, telling us this wasn’t a library and that they were not obliged to be quiet just because we are students. Clearly we know it’s not a library, it was simply a request. This isn’t how you speak to people who are giving you business.

While I generally love coming to Green Bean especially on the weekend, today I had a bad experience. There were about 30 students studying and an event occurring for Christmas. The music was loud and irritating for students studying. The students beside my table and myself were all irritated. When my friend went to go ask if the noise could be lowered the manager? Owner? Came up to our table to let us know that it wasn't a library and that the event took precedence. While that is fair statement the way he spoke down to two law students who were very aware it wasn't a library was rude. As someone who has worked in the cafe industry before the way you speak to customers is important, especially students who make up the bulk of your base. Not happy.

I had the mark rueben and a friend had the rice and bean wrap. It was all so good. Great service, cool atmosphere, great menu options. Lots of different sitting places.

Such a chilled out space to get an awesome coffee and catch up with friends or plan an assignment for school

Updating my review from two years ago from 3 to 5 stars, great place, friendly staff, new and improved menu, great music choices.

I haven't been here in about 5 years, but I was able to check it out earlier today with a friend and I still love this place! The interior is completely different then before (for the better), it has more of a chill yet upbeat environment and now serves alcohol and burgers (unlike last time I was here). It's still a great place to catch up over a coffee, tea, or beer, yet it's also a great place to set up your computer and work on school work or study if you need to be alone. Only a few minutes walk from the University of Windsor, on a bus route, and lots of parking on the street around it, the Green Bean is very accesible for many transit demographics. Still one of my favourite places in the University district even though I am no longer a student anymore!

Great place to go for a meeting, or study with a bit of background noise. Definitely enjoy this gem of a university hangout spot! (There’s not exactly an abundance of places like this near the university)

Enjoy the fact that there is a bar now, the live music nights are definitely also something worth going to.

Try a London fog, my typical is one with half sweetener. Only place I’ve ever gotten one so good.

The staff are always nice, and the food is also very good. Sometimes it’s just a great place to hang out and program to get out of the office for a change.

If your not a coffee person it's very difficult/confusing to order. The atmosphere was really relaxing and often full of students studying. I would go back to grab lunch and read.

Great atmosphere, amazing vegan food and delishious baked goods and treats. The VVC sandwich alone is worth a visit!

A lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, tasty food, delicious coffee/tea, frequent events, and alcoholic beverage options make for a great experience in this quaint church-basement cafe.

Really great small venue for music. The exterior looks are decieving, but the beer list is on point with local beer and a great selection of blood Brothers. Nice staff and clean goes a long way too, especially for a brunch crowd. The brunch is diner food, but good portions and flavours.

Lovely cosy place. They serve healthy food. This cafe is popular among students. There is also a tango dance club upstairs and a church.

What a cool place, holy hell. A dream of a university Café. And they have booze. Great success.
