Good service here with great menu variety. Staff were quick and attentive and the food came out quickly. I’m excited to go back and try more menu options.
I really enjoyed the chicken pad Thai. Seems like a diverse menu. Staff are attentive and professional. Parking around the corner. Decor needs updating (peeling benches etc).
Easily the Best Pad Thai I've ever had in Ottawa, the flavour and consistency everytime is appreciated, although I prefer the Preston location to the Baseline one. Simply delicious and gracious staff.
This was one of my favorite and I go there a lot. This place had a rat crawling around. I complained and felt disgusted. After seeing the rat I couldn’t eat there anymore and rather than compensating me, they still the audacity to charge me for the food even though we did not eat it.
Food was delicious, service is incredible! Do just have to say that we stayed until almost closing and had the pleasure of seeing a mouse run in the dining room.
Tend to agree more with the underwhelming reviews if you are a Thai food and lemongrass aficionado, given price, but not extreme either way (we split Tom Yum and Papaya Chicken - not enough sauce!)
Great restaurant with fresh fast service. Stopped in before a play at The Gladstone. The Green Curry was devine with a lovely level of spice Beef waterfall salad was fresh and generous. Lovely patio overlooking Preston. Service was attentive and friendly.
In my experience, these guys have got the best tasting thai food in ottawa. My favourite dish the lemongrass beef. Pad thai, eggplant and green curry are also delicious. They’re also accomodating making dishes gluten free for celiac
Really great Thai food, great service and relaxed atmosphere. They have a great covered patio that lets you people watch Preston St. The Tom Kha and mixed seafood curry were my personal faves.
Easily the best shrimp Pad Thai in the city! Order the medium spice level if you like feeling heat to the point of sweating and needing water breaks, which is why I ask for in between mild and medium, AKA a bit spicy. Choose spicier than medium at your own risk or if you’re a spicy food aficionado.
Not worth it. Pad Thai was totally unexpected and was just ketchup with noodles. All the food was tasteless and extremely mild. Only dish that was decent was drunken noodles. Not great for vegetarians. Good atmosphere and location but not worth it.
A quaint restaurant with cute decor! We came here on a Sunday evening and it was quiet. Our server was very attentive and we loved every dish we ordered. Definitely going to be one of our new go to Thai restaurants.
The reason I only give 4 stars is because there is 1 day per week (Thursdays) where the sauce is mostly ketchup. The full time chef is amazing, however.
Generous portions of authentic Thai food served in a traditionally-decorated locale. Plenty of vegetarian options (indicated with a green heart on the menu) that can be made vegan simply by removing egg, as dairy is not traditionally a part of Thai cuisine. Standard prices. Very quick service, even on busy evenings. Nice location in Little Italy with plenty of street parking nearby (free evenings after 5: 30pm and weekends).
The Green Papaya turned out to be a great Thai restaurant. I was expecting a regular Thai restaurant with the same old dishes. However, the food wasn't average: it was significantly better. The Pad Thai was different from the regular Pad Thai. None of us could stop eating it. The other dishes were flavourful, too. The seating area is a little on the small side, but we didn't mind as the food compensated for it. For those who like beer, you'll be pleased to know that they have a decent selection of Asian beers (Thai, Singapore, Japanese, and others) as well as European. The price of the food isn't excessive. For the 4 of us with 3 beers, a couple of starters, 5 entree dishes, and 2 deserts, it came to $185. The service was good too. I will return again for the food. The guy in the picture isn't me.he's a guy who loves his food, but couldn't figure out how best to showcase the food, resulting in a funny smile & pose. It was a pleasant dining experience.
