Luiz Booth was an amazing tattoo artist. Went above and beyond and really helped me out with a piece that I had wanted to get covered.
He was a perfectionist making sure every detail was complete to the way I wanted it he really put my thoughts and worked with it the way I wanted it, he listened and ensured I was comfortable. I’m extremely happy with the results, Overall an amazing tattoo artist and an amazing guy!

I love my tattoo from here but I’m VERY disappointed with the price. I got my tattoo from Anna and she took way too many breaks! My tattoo should have only taken a day but with all the breaks I had to come back another day for and hour or so. When I came back, she only really worked on it for about an hour and charged me for a half day price. In total my tattoo came 2400 with tip. I’ve talked to Other artists with the same skill level and they would have charged me half of that.

Got my nose pierced without an issue and more importantly they took the time to look at my daughter's helix piercing (done elsewhere) and help replace it which made the infection go away with in days! Thanks Brad!

I was in yesterday for some piercings, reception was very friendly, Brad was great, has been about 10 years since my last piercing and he was thorough and quick and made me feel comfortable. Everyone was very personable and pleasant to talk to. I hadn't been into grim city before but I would definitely go back for tattoos or piercings, the shop is very clean and open and welcoming.

I had a mixed experience with Grim. The place is nice and clean. Came in to get my nose pierced and second lobes, my friend also had an appointment at the same time and also had a simular opinions on the attitude of staff. One lady I spoke with when we first arrive was super nice I believe she does the removal work. The next staff we spoke with were the piercers, they we asking what kind of jewelry we wanted. The overall impression was not a very welcoming experience they almost seemed put out by our appointments. I had said I wanted a standard ring for my nose and regular studs in my ears until they are healed. They flat out told me that the can't give a ring for my nose when I asked them why they said can't because they turn and will re-introduce bacteria (by the way the bar moves back and forth just as much). I asked them what the other basic options where they said its a bar type. My friend getting a daith piercing was given a ring wouldn't it also have the same issue with turning? They other jewelry was way over priced so I just agreed to the basic bar. Wasn't given any information on if it was treaded top or not nor did I know this something to ask, the last time I had a piercing done (different tattoo studio many years ago) they only had treaded ball/post. The piercers had us sit upstairs for at least 30 minutes I don't know if that was because I had to book appointment for my nose and ears seperately so there was a double time slot? During the actual piercing everything was okay they explained everything talked through the steps. We paid for the basic jewelry which is not included in the piercing price and we were on our way. 4 days later the ball falls off the post and went un notice until the bar fell out unexpectedly. I couldn't find the ball so I put the post in backwards so it wouldn't keep falling out and made a trip back to grim. The girl at the front counter this time seemed to have no clue about what standard jewelry the piercers used which wasn't helpful because the piercers were not there to help. Apparently there is more than one type of post they use, there is a ball with a pin that goes into the post which has to bent half way in to lock it in place and the treaded one. Having no clue as to what they used she gave me the ball with pin. I had no idea how to put this in and asked how to do it and I was handed a little instruction paper. So I brought it home attempted to put it in and after about 5 attempts at bending part lost the ball behind the vanity. Back to the grim again this time I just asked to purchase the ring and I would put it in myself or find someone who could. This time no piercing staff again and we don't know the standard guage the piercers use. She offered to book an appointment but by this time I just decided to go elsewhere as it had already been days and I didn't want it to fall out and close before I noticed or to have to continue to touch it constantly keep the pin in. Overall staff needs to be more welcoming of customers and not make them feel like they are a inconvenience and train staff that are recieving customers so they have some basic information on the services you provide. It shouldn't require a piercer to sell jewelry from your own store. Basic information like Guage used diameter needed for future jewelry purchases and type of piercing jewelry used with instructions on how to change (along with wait times for changing and care instructions which were given) should all be provided to the clients at time of piercing so if it happens to fall out the situation can be rectified without confusion and in a timely manner.
For anyone planning on using grim ask for information above you may need it to purchase your own jewelry. If your want a nose ring keep in mind they won't give you a ring here for at least a year after piercing.
I now have a nose ring as I originally wanted that another tattoo shop piercer gladly helped me replace. Hopefully my nose can now heal now since I don't have it getting snaged or fiddle with it.

Had my nose pierced 4 weeks ago and i highly recommend booking with crystal. She is amazing and very professional and experienced. If you are scared of needles i promise you she will help calm you down and give you a countdown. The sweetest person at grim:)

Everyone on staff was extremely professional. Covid-19 precautions were taken seriously and Kristian did a great job capturing my intent with the piece I got done with what ended up as the finished product.

Absolutely love this shop! The professionalism from all staff and the cleanliness of the shop is amazing. I moved to Hamilton about 7months and was looking for a new shop/artist to be loyal to. I had tattoos already, but I have never really found a shop that just stuck and that I want to keep going back to whenever I have the money, lol. I have received cosmetic freckles by Amanda (she’s amazing) and I have gotten 4 pieces done by Dilan. I will most likely be going for a nose piercing soon as well.

Overall- great shop and a comfortable place to be stabbed! Lol

I got my rook pierced today and had a wonderful experience. The staff where so so nice, professional and I felt very comfortable the entire time. Would highly recommend coming her for a piercing.

I had a tattoo and two helix piercings done, they were done quickly, efficiently and the staff was super kind and accommodating. Really lovely establishment even if it's a trek to get there.

First time at this place and all I have to say is wow! Perfect setup and very welcoming. The staff were super nice and respective of all the covid protocols. Got tattooed by a guest artist, Mike. And his work stands for itself! Amazing. Will definitely be back to check out other artists here.

Side note, love the inclusive bathrooms.

Had my first ever tattoo there. The young man was friendly, proffesional and disenfected everything before and after. Felt very comfortable there. I am 65 years old.

My son was tattooed there years ago and it was great. We went back recently for mor tattoos and was shown the art work that was ok. After the session it was nowhere close to being finished, it looks completely horrible and nothing like what he was shown. He was charged almost twice the price we were told to complete the tattoo. They expected another deposit to rebook to finish it as well as pay what ever it takes to complete it. The owner is even worse to deal with. 100% entitled and fake as they come! I’ve heard stories on how this shop went down hill and fully agree. I wouldn’t suggest this place to anyone! Way overpriced, all of there good artists are gone (you’ll notice there’s a few artists there that they don’t post their work because it’s terrible) horrible attitude (staff and owner)

Crystal was amazing; very professional and thorough removing my dermal anchors. The reason I'm giving 4 stars over 5 is that I feel this place is over priced. After shopping around (after the fact) the jewelry removal was easily 2-3x that of a couple other studios.

I called them to see if they do surface piercings the person I talked to said yeah go online and book I did had to pay up front for it 2 days go by I get a text not a call a texted saying they don't do this it's on the website so I don't understand why they even have it up and now I have to wait 5 business day to get my money back for something they don't even do was really upset and don't understand how they do business like this don't waste your time here

This is by far the nicest shop I've been in. Anna is hands down the best artist I have ever worked with. She is extremely professional, organized, precise and truly talented. The piece I got on my leg is so detailed, it is my absolute favorite tattoo. I will be coming to Anna for any future tattoos and I'm referring her to anyone that wants to get one.

The staff are very polite and friendly, the artists are very knowledgeable and approachable regarding ideas and how to implement them. The space is very clean and well spaced out and I didn't feel cramped or claustrophobic at all as I have in other parlors.

Just had my first tattoo done and I decided to use Grim Studios. I am so happy that I made this decision. From my first contact with them, they were amazing to deal with. My session with the artist, Kristian, was a wonderful experience. He was so great to speak with, did an amazing job and was so friendly and talented. I came here for a piercing which Crystal took care of. She was super friendly, kind, and made me feel comfortable about the process! She explained everything thoroughly including aftercare. The shop was clean and they followed COVID protocols. Grim will be the only place I get future piercings as it is the best location I've been to. Highly recommend!

I had many tattoos and let me tell you something. Over priced, what should be done in 3 0r 4 hours took them 8 but that makes sense considering they charge by hour. My tatto has some missing lines so I emailed them for a touch up and they said to text them on instagram, which I don't have. I quess email are no longer useful? ! What can I say, very disappointing
