Ground Burger Bar

Had their GBB SmashBurger. Excellently done, but very messy (part of the experience). I try to stop there every time I'm in Newmarket! Bad point; had a Stella Artois. This cost about $9.50, but it wasn't the big 500ml it was a small 330ml beer. Not acceptable at that price!

Title: Disappointing Experience at Ground Burger Bar

I recently visited Ground Burger Bar in Newmarket, and unfortunately, I left feeling underwhelmed. The atmosphere was decent, but the overall experience fell short of my expectations.

The food itself was mediocre at best. While the burger patty was cooked adequately, the overall flavor was lacking. The burger was served on a paper lined tray. Because I had a lettuce bun and used a fork and knife, the paper below became soggy and buts were stuck to the lettuce bun. Was a complete turn off. My side of fries were over cooked.

Furthermore, the pricing seemed unjustifiably high considering the underwhelming quality of the food. Left feeling as though I had overpaid for a subpar dining experience.

In conclusion, I regret to say that my visit to Ground Burger Bar was not as enjoyable as I had hoped. I believe there is ample room for improvement in terms of both food quality and service. As a result, I am unable to recommend this establishment to others based on my unsatisfactory experience.

This place has some excellent burgers/fries/pub grub and an excellent selection of beers and beverages. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great atmosphere and reasonably priced for the quality of foods. I had the bison burger and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. The Mac and cheese is excellent too. Highly recommend place to stop in for a beer and a burger and a really nice spot to bring the family in to.

October 2023- 2nd visit was as good as our first. List goes on forever, lots of different meats to choose from. Can customize your own burger as well. Both visits, all were very pleased with the burger and if definitely a place we will return. Great service. Have an outdoor patio, lots of beer suggestions to pair with your burg. Free parking available close by.

This was honestly some of the best food I've had in a while. I commented how amazing it is that we can be at a random burger bar in Newmarket and have a better burger than the average American will have in their entire lifetime. 5 stars across the board.

Tasty and nice atmosphere when we last went to visit. Great menu that denotes food allergies and they even have a gluten free dedicated fryer. Best part is that the waitress was very familiar with food allergies and made some great recommendations after letting her know. Definitely made us comfortable. Would definitely go back. Thanks!

Absolutely love this place, I think it’s my favourite burger joint!

I ordered the Flamin hot Mozz sticks, the el Fuego burger with side fries and a Mac and cheese and enjoyed every bit of this meal.

Service was also very good. Server was able to answer all my questions about food and beer recommendations. Food came out in a timely manner and so delicious!

I highly recommend GBB, they’ve got the best burgs you’ll ever have

Awesome vibe, great live music. Patio is amazing. Service was a bit slow but it was very busy. Servers were friendly and pleasant. Would definitely go again.

We’ve been multiple times and no matter what burger we choose we’re blown away by how elevated each dish is! The portions are great, the cost is reasonable and the drink selection curated to each burger is an excellence way to easily heighten the experience!
Highly recommended spot to check out, my personal favourite is the “Mary Had A Little Lamb” or the “Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em”

Came here on a busy Friday night and was met by some welcoming young ladies at the front. We were seated quickly as we were okay with being inside - the patio was very full and live music sounded great. Our server Abby was delightful and very attentive. We chatted with her for awhile - she always made sure we had enough to drink and helped us navigate a very detailed long menu. A very bright young lady. Food was great and loved the cocktail menu. Would recommend!

Came here this time on a Friday morning and was served by the lovely Abby again. Was clearly a very busy morning and they were understaffed. But Abby still made sure we had everything we need and we still got to chat with her for a second. The bartender was also very nice as well! Food just as good as before and came out quick - just check it out!

Absolutely fantastic food - the burger and topping options will leave you wanting for nothing. Our app - fried pickle chips - DELICIOUS! I had the tropic chicken burger and it was juicy and crispy all at once, excellent flavours. My partner enjoyed his beef burger very much as well. Definitely worth a stop in, though it was clearly a very busy afternoon so some of the staff was a little grouchy. Otherwise terrific service by the whole team, especially the dark haired woman (a manager?) who ended up serving us while taking care of the bar as well.

Have been here quite a few times and the experience was great, but this time.the glasses weren't clean at all, were replaced with some eye rolling, the chicken burger was dry, lettuce instead of the bun wasn't good either (usually it's the crispy lettuce and it's good) really questioned how did they get the best burger award (displayed at the front desk) wasn't Worth $53 (tax + tip included) for just two burgers no drinks

Would still give another shot to restore one of my fav go to places in NM

Best burger place in Newmarket I ever been to I went with my friends and I got the smash Mac and a salad and a side of sweet potato fries and they were all so good.
I highly recommend the sweet potato fries so go

Just a heads up parking can be very difficult especially on weekends if you can take public transit

Friendly and and they take care of you. Always asking if all is OK. I want to try everything on the menu now lol

Great pub for lunch with good live tunes playing and wonderful service by Lauren. We had the Smash Mac and build your own burger with fries, everything was yummm! Refreshing Aperol Spritz and non alcoholic beer too. A must try.

Food was decent, however now a days I don't go just for the food I also go for the full experience.
Food was good but not exceptional, we had 3 people in total serve us, the person that brought my food seemed like the only person that didn't hate their job. The person that bought the second drink, if they were to serve our first or be the actual server, would have resulted in me walking out.
All in all for the experience and price I wouldn't be back mostly because the servers didn't seem welcoming.

Never disappointed with the quality of the food at Ground Burger Bar. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious. Much better food and atmosphere than getting a burger at a generic chain restaurant or pub! Truly a Newmarket gem.

I was there with my guest on Sunday but I had the worst experience over there We ordered water but it took half an hour and the dishes took more than one hour to get ready and when they bought the dishes all of them were burned. And when we asked for cutlery, the waiter disrespectfully threw the cutlery on the table This was the worst experience I have ever had

If you are dining in inwould recommend this diner but I got take out fries but for 10 dollars I had a small portion.

My favorite spot in Newmarket. Burgers are the best around and the deep fried Oreos are amazing!

A bit pricey but the quality of the food was top notch. I had the El Fuego burger which was just spicy enough to make my nose run but didn't make my eyes water. The fries were perfectly seasoned. I found the service to be a little slow but on the whole, I really enjoyed my experience and would absolutely return for a repeat visit.

Was one of the best burgers I have had, but for the price, I was not impressed with the size. Left hungry and for $25 I should leave full! I'd come back, but not when I am hungry!

The food was fresh & tasty. The Mac & cheese is really good. The smoke 'em if you got 'em bison burger was great! Our server Sophie was friendly, fun and attentive to us.
