Terrible service, terrible communication, inconsistent hours, 3+ hour waiting times. Don't bother, you will be seen faster in the emergency room

This is the worst walkin I have ever been to-I had gone in for pain and was seen by a lady DR. She examined me and I went home. The following day the pain grew worse and I went back. I walked up to the counter and the secretary told me to to wait a sec she was going to ask the same dr that attended me, she was sitting behind her writing something. She asked the dr and the doctor started screaming violently. She was bothered that I came back and screamed out, "Send him home, no I dont want to see him. I asked if I could see another dr because I was in so much pain, she told me no. I ended up going to the hospital, where I was told I had an infection. I called the doctors board to complain about that dr. Since then I've been banned. If you are in pain and someone just starts screaming at you without seeing you. And sends you out into the street without caring whether you are okay. Then they shouldn't be in the medical profession.

Another traumatizing healthcare experience.can't trust the staff (clinic manager, doctors, or receptionists) to help take care of your health. I will not be returning to this walk-in clinic in the future due to poor health care providers/service

Been a patient here for years, mostly due to location convenience. The wait times are long and the doc will never see you longer than 5-10 minutes. Even if you have a family doctor here, you'll be treated like a drug addict despite having valid reasons and no history of such. If you're late, even a few minutes due to the roads surrounding the entire building being closed, you'll have your appointment cancelled (guess that's only alright for people waiting hours not the other way around). The pharmacy is nothing but incompetence personified - numerous times they've erroneously filled my prescriptions, failed to properly fill out insurance forms, it's just a cash grab. Found a new family doctor, don't waste your time if you can help it.

Probably the best walk in clinic I’ve been to. Every time I go the staff are always friendly and the doctors are fantastic. I’ve had nothing but excellent service here.

THIS CLINIC IS NOT PRO CHOICE AND DOES NOT SUPPORT WOMEN AND ABORTIONS! They refused to help me after I said I was getting an abortion. They basically asked me to go somewhere else.

The ladies at the front desk and the doctor all acted the same. I couldn't believe it, it's the most Liberal area in the city and 2023. Did this actually happen? Yes it did!

They said "you can come back tomorrow when the female doctor is in" No, I don't have time to come back in when I booked an appointment for today. It is not my fault your doctor is uneducated on what to do with a women seeking an abortion.

The doctor did not give me any details except saying "Call a women's clinic" It was an absolutely disgusting experience and the people working there should be absolutely ashamed for making a women in the 20th century have to do extra work for a choice I'm making about MY BODY.

If a male was coming in with an ailment I'm sure you would have known exactly what to do and prescribed him what is needed on the spot. Educate yourself on safe abortion options and whats needed to help your patients.

I’ve tried calling them over five times in the past week to get a refill of my medication because the pharmacy that I usually go to don’t have my records and they never pick up like ever, and it’s so frustrating because all I need is my medication because I ran out and I can’t walk in because I live two hours away, and if I walk in to book an appointment I know they will take another day or two to confirm and refill my prescription so then I would have to come on another four hour trip the day after. Ever since my physician moved to this god-awful place I have been very unsatisfied. How does it feel to be off my medication and go crazy for four weeks? Clearly the physicians here don’t know because they won’t pick up a singular call. I’ve left my voicemail multiple times and never was I ever called back. It’s like the front desk doesn’t exist.

I went for a physical exam & blood work for a competition 2 weeks out. Several fighters come here typically with no issues. They charge 105.00 for the walk in, no issue. I left a copy of the medical form so they can sign it off when the blood work came from life labs to avoid the wait. The vision test was rushed, so I got screwed & had to pay another $174.00 for accurate results from an optometrist. When I came to pick up the form a week later, they wanted to charge another $57.00 and I waited an hr just for a sign off. I left since I had to practice thinking I can come in at 10am Saturday and pick up the form. Funny enough they lost the copy I left with them 2 weeks ago, stating nothing had been left to sign. I had to rush my brother to bring my extra copy just to try to get this signed before my weigh-ins. It got resolved in the end, bad experience though.

I’m not one to leave poor reviews, but I’m not sure how else to give feedback… I cannot get a hold of this clinic. It’s been over a week and I cannot get access to my doctor (who is great). They don’t want us to go to walk in clinics or else they’ll lose money, but I feel I have no choice.

Advice for management: please make it easier for patients to book with their family doctors.

So quick and everyone was so kind and helpful. The pharmacy was just as amazing. I highly recommend this clinic!

I walk in 7 PM Friday an hour before closing there’s no patients inside and they say sorry we’re not taking taking walk-ins. Are you kidding me? Why are my tax dollars being wasted on a clinic like this. These people don’t care, do you really want them diagnosing you?

I travel from Oakville to this clinic to see my family doctor, Dr. Nwankwo. The staff, nurses, and my doctor, as well as others I have had for walk-in, at this clinic are friendly, professional and make all appointments run smoothly. The team works around the clock to deliver patient cantered-care. Thank you all very much!

Website states open until 8 on Fridays - just arrived here at 6PM. Doctor left for the day? Makes no sense.

Very unprofessional peoples they make you wait very long time when I walk in reception said wait time is 1.5hr and I finished up waiting 3 hr there is only one doctor he waiting on each room one patient there is more then 8 rooms so he is going one by one on each room to check the patient if your short of staff hair more doctors or nurses or don’t take more walk in patients be on yours limit and dont waste everyone times

Cannot say I recommend this clinic. I came in to see the doctor about a case of pink eye. They wouldn't give me any eye drops for treatment and told me to let it settle naturally. Went to another walk-in and received drops within half the time. Makes you wonder.

Checked in for an appointment at noon, told it would be 2 hours, after 2 hours was told “2 people ahead of me”, an hour and a half later still waiting, and “two people ahead of me”.

Wait time is 1 hour 50 minutes. Probably because Queen Spadina Wlalk In shut down. Wait room is packed full at all times with people coughing on you.

The Dr was good though.

I had mixed experiences here, some bad, some good, the service quality fluctuated from time to time. And because the Liberty Village population has increased significantly with all the new high rises, this clinic has become busier over the years.
I attached a photo here for their most updated walk in schedule. It's good to check on the schedule before you go, and the wait time is normally longer than 1 hr for walk-ins.
Because I live close by, so I normally drop in to get on the list first, and then off to do groceries or something else for an hour and come back for a doctor's appointment. If you expect to get seen quickly, it's probably not the best place to go.

Just came in hoping to get a quick check up on a sore throat - When i arrived, only 3 people were there which I thought was Great! - i'd be in an out relatively quickly. Turns out - The doctor on staff today decided to take a 2 hour break for god knows what reason - and the line was actually massive (No one knows who's first or last though, it's a bloody Free-For-All). Place filled up with like 22 people while the Doctor was taking her leisurely break, realized I was looking at a 3 hour wait - so stormed out. Place is awful compared to other walk-in clinics

Had to wait 2 hours to see the physician even though the receptionist had told me the wait time was only an hour so I was frustrated but the annoyance went away quickly when I saw Dr. Joanna De Los Santos. She’s fabulous! Always kind and sweet - takes her time to talk to you instead of rushing because of the long patient list. I’ve seen her twice and she remembered to follow up on previous issue as well even though it’s a walk-in clinic.

When I first came here I left very disappointed and not taken care of, very brushed off. I decided to give it another try but make sure I try a female doctor, I’m so happy I did. Dr. Aleksic was amazing. She’s very caring and answers all your questions with ease and a smile- genuinely loved meeting her! Xx and receptionist was very sweet and fast.

Really cannot stress enough how frustrating this place is. Been there 3 separate times to try and see a doctor, and I’ve still never been able to — so I can’t comment on the quality of care. Two of those times I was told to come back later in the day, and when I did I was then told I couldn’t get in. I’ve wasted too much of my time running back and forth from this place. Reception staff seem indifferent to the obvious problems identified in these reviews, to put it charitably. Not worth the trip, you’ll be disappointed.

That’s one of the best walking clinic I’ve been with very professional and kind staff! Would definitely recommend and will come back for sure!

It’s a walk-in clinic where you can’t walk in. What a joke. Doctors turnover faster than baristas. Avoid!

Their website mentions walk-ins but when I went there they were like we don’t accept walk-ins for sore throat and flu like symptoms. No ER too! What a joke!

I really like my GP, Dr De Los Santos. I've been with her for years now. She makes evidence-based treatment decisions and follows treatment guidelines. GPs, by nature of their work, cannot be experts in everything therefore I appreciate she takes this approach rather than going with her gut/habit as other GPs can be known to do. She's incredibly punctual which is a rarity as well. If you're looking for a warm, fuzzy, chatty GP, she's not for you, her pragmatism, professionalism and organisation take precedence but I appreciate it. I don't need a friend, I want a skilled and knowledgeable healthcare practitioner.

They don’t answer their phones. When I got there they said you need an appointment. It should really be clear when someone is looking them up, or they should change their name from walk in clinic, or they should answer their phones. So many simple ways to not waste peoples time.

Between Shadi doing chiropractic work for me and Liam's massage, they keep me in good shape for my courier job.

I was referred this clinic by other location.called them many time for making an appointment but my phone call has never reached them. I left my voice mail because you guys said that leaving name, phone number etc…. But I haven’t got back call from you guys. So disappointed. I’m wondering how people get their appointment with this inconvenience.

It’s impossible to see a Dr at this clinic. When you try to make an appt (even though it says walk in clinic) we are told the dr is available to call in a few days. I have tried to get an appt here several times when my daughter is sick and needs care.

Dr. Derkson is the absolute best family doctor I have ever had. I cannot say enough about him and the entire team at GSH. Redefining family medical practice for the modern day and age.

I give this place only 3 stars because I believe first impression means a lot & the majority of the girls at the front desk are as rude as can be & not to mention that you’ll be lucky if anyone answers the phone or puts you on hold for anything less than 10 minutes. When I started going to east liberty medical many, many years ago it was good but now I can’t say the same. That being said the Doctors, Dr. Mehra & Dr. Derkson are amazing & if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t attend this clinic.

I echo the sentiments of all other reviewers. The front desk/reception staff could really use a training in professionalism and customer service. If you're so miserable working in a client-facing role, maybe you should find another career, food for thought. I have had been met with nothing but incompetence from this clinic.

I have to renew my birth control pills by the end of the month, so I called them as early as the first week of April. No one ever picks up the phone at this office, so I had to leave a voicemail. I called back two more times, because no one reached out to me. It is now April 21st and I am only a week away from running out of my pills. Does anyone even work in this office? If I do go in to resolve this issue, the receptionists blankly stare at me and repeat how I should book an appointment online or call them. That's rich, considering that they never return calls, and their online booking system is broken.

The only reason I even gave this clinic a try was because it's a 3 minute walking distance away from me. I've now chosen to go to another walk in clinic which is a 20 minute walk, which is much better and more professional.

Overall pretty good walk-in clinic and usually are pretty accommodating with same day or scheduled appts (depending how busy). As with many places that have various doctors and support staff under one roof, some are abysmal (will rush you out etc.), while there’s also some truly fantastic people that work here. Would love to mention names though doesn’t seem appropriate - should be rather transparent who you’re dealing with based on how they make you feel (certain people go well above and beyond:)

I’ve tried this clinic pre-pandemic and during pandemic.

First, the phone number is either off or busy and there is no voicemail set up (currently).

Second, the reception IS the worst. I’ve read both the client reviews and the management responses and covid or not the staff is awful. They will not look at you and sit there on there doing nothing while you’re waiting for them to address you, they speak in an incredible rude tone, and regardless if you’re completely prepared with all your documents ready for them they still speak to you as if you’re doing something wrong.

Third, the doctors for the walk-in are only fine. They don’t go above and beyond (or even to minimal expectation) and honestly they don’t really try to diagnose. Mostly they’ll just send you home with a general antibiotic and then move on but if you go to another clinic you’ll find out what is actually the reason for your visit to the clinic.

If you can avoid this place, I would strongly urge you to do so.

I've also had a bad experience here. They charged my benefits plan for services that I never had done and it was investigated by my insurance company and the services were removed from my benifits. Check your plan regularly if you use the services there. Many of the doctors are very young and not very good at bedside manners or dealing with people who have anxiety about their health issues. The Drs at times also seem rather unprofessional as I can often hear some of the female doctors talking about their dates on the weekend while waiting for hours to be seen. With that being said the ladies in the blood clinic are amazing and very kind. Go to other places in the area.

1) Please update clinic hours - Sunday is supposedly closed but website says open
2) Walkin clinics that don't have walk in appointments seem kind of pointless. I'm not sure when it changed but should change branding
3) Phone number contact on the website doesn't work.

Dr Phil Derkson has been my general physician for many years now but I respect him so much for his kind, professional, caring and functional approach. His clinic also runs as a walk-in clinic a couple days of the week for when you can’t get an appointment right away. They also offer some lab services and flu shots.

Unable to speak to an operator through the phone, answer machine suggests walk-in clinic open M-F 8-8 (just show up 2 hr before closure), I can barely walk and made it to the place and they tell me "Walk-in clinic is by appointment only" and they are fully booked for the next 3 days! So they are a walk-in clinic by appointment? Could you at least update your answer machine? Or remove the walk-in part on your ads? I can only imagine how the rest of the service would be.

Receptionist actually hung up on me today because I said I had to put the phone down for a few seconds.

I wish I can give this place zero stars. I came here on Sunday morning June 20,2021 because their website says they are open at 9 AM and the signage on the door clearly says they are open at 9 AM and the 14 other people waiting at the front door as of 9: 15 AM also think they open at 9 AM but nobody has arrived. What a complete despicable disrespect of peoples time. If they don’t open at 9 AM on Sundays they should clearly have their website updated and the signage on the door changed. It’s not a hard thing to do but clearly they don’t care which is also reflected on their very low overall reviews.

Believe all the negative reviews, absolutely horrendous place. I've been going to them and trying to make it work for years and they have absolutely no care and no respect for their patients. Awful.

Service was as expected. I was able to get an appoinment and see a doctor for my procedure within 2 weeks which was very surprising because when I called other clinics it was going to take about 8 weeks to see a doctor and get the procedure because of covid. Highly recommend!

Doctor Brendan McCullough laughed in my face multiple times when I was trying to explain my injury and asked if I had just smoked weed before coming because I was so concerned, I was concerned because I am in extreme pain and I do not smoke weed at all, I believe he asked and acted this way based on my appearance and being in my construction clothes as I had come straight from work. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I had been in before and had another doctor treat me very kindly and that's why I returned but I can't believe a trained professional would act the way he did absolutely disgusting for a doctor.
Update so I had an infection in my finger and he scoffed saying it's just hurt yesterday I cut it open to get out the infection and clean it sad a doctor couldn't identify an infection when the patient is telling him what it is

3 days waiting for a phone call. We get "we had the wrong number" Then we get 2 hang ups trying to follow up. Then after we get " call 911 go to the hospital" for a skin rash. LOL. Is this a Voodoo clinic? Seriously.shape up!

Second time coming for walk in. Extremely unprofessional staff in front. The girl gave me two times to take an appointment and said if you can't make the first time just call in and change the appointment to the second time. I called in number of times no body picked up. So in the end, left the voice message. And when I went at the time of appointment, guess what, other girl said doctor doesn't sit for that long. So all in all, the guys don't know what time doctor comes and goes, they give you wrong time for appointment, they don't pickup phones and of course don't call you back when you leave a voice message.

The patient went their with mental health issues, and unfortunately the ineffective and unprofessional staff make it worse.

This was the second experience. First time, the girl in the front couldn't validate my health card. So she asked me to call the Ohip and she gave me the number, I was on the line for 40mins to find out she gave me the wrong number. And then after giving the incorrect three times now, she said oh you can call the number on the back of your card.

Walk in clinic makes you sign up to access appointments, but then tells you they have no availability for a walk it since you don’t have a family doctor at the clinic.

Second time going in for a walk-in appointment & frontline staff are not helpful at all. They do not pick up their phones, not do they check their voicemail, or return patients calls. Reception is disrespectful and will literally sit behind the desks and speak to each other, rather than do their jobs. There are plenty of decent clinics in the city and this one is not it.

I was able to get my vaccine done here, and they were so friendly and fast. The clinic was very clean, and social distancing practices were in place.

Reception staff don’t wear masks!
It’s December 2020 and Toronto is firmly in the second wave of COVID yet staff at this MEDICAL clinic are wearing their masks under their chins. Doesn’t feel safe or clean. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re at all at risk!

Do not recommend. Spoke with a male doctor who gave condescending and incorrect health care information. He did not know the basics of a very basic and sensitive topic regarding conception and attempted to “mansplain” for lack of better words with entirely inaccurate information it was laughable. Don’t bother going here, he should receive formal disciplinary reprimand. I’m going from 3 stars to 2. Disappointing establishment.

Great staff, friendly women. Went for bloodwork and some routine tests. Cannot recommend for bloodwork, the lady I had bruised and scarred me and I’m still dealing with both almost a week later. Thankfully giving blood does not make me nervous but I’ve never had an experience like this before and didn’t even know it was possible, she seemed rough. Wait times were also moderate, approx 15-20mins even with appt however they did have good availability.

I've always had a good experience at this clinic. Very minimal wait times (I almost always get in right away with an appointment or otherwise), attentive and pleasant reception staff and helpful doctors.

Dr. Walderman was great. I prebooked an appointment for 1pm today and went to her for an iud insertion. I was previously on Flexi-T 380 and then went to my family physician for a new insertion in which it unfortunately sat too low so I had to get it replaced ASAP (doctor was not open). She encouraged me to try the Mona Lisa. I am so glad I choose her. She made sure I was comfortable upon insertion including having me “cough” throughout parts of the procedure when I would expect a cramp. This really helped to alleviate the pain and was much better and less painful then the previous insertion. The pharmacist was also great. He also informed me about the Mona Lisa being a great choice and ensured I could get a refund should my test results previous to insertion come back that I was pregnant. Other pharmacies would simply keep the money after purchase. Their rates are also much lower then other pharmacies and he was very personable and friendly.

Dr. Kayla Walderman is very nice, professional and made me feel comfortable. She addressed my concerns and was very polite. I wish I had her as my family doctor but unfortunately she is not accepting new patients. The wait time was very short and not to mention, I was able to book this appointment within a few days. I would have had to wait 3-6 months to see the gynecologist. The staff was also friendly. I would definitely recommend this doctor to anyone.

Front Desk staff is INCOMPETENT.
My mother came on a Sunday for urinary infection and was recommended to do urine exam.
She did not have OHIP card (we told the front desk so).
After 2 days I called to get an update about the result of the exam, to hear from them that it was taking 3 to 4 business days to get them.
On the 4th day, I contacted them again, to be told this time that "because she did not have a OHIP card, the doctor did not send the sample for examination, as the lab would not accept to do it".
A professional staff would have either told me that on the very day of the visit (they knew she did not have a OHIP card, as they charged us 100$ flat rate for the consultation), or pro-actively when I tried to follow up after 2 days. Also, they could have offered me the possibility to pay upfront.
Side note: I had to ask 3 times to be sent a copy of the consultation invoice by e-mail. Yes, three times.
-> Message to the manager/direction of this clinic: not sure if health care is considered as a business, but at least make some effort to hire competent and motivated staff at the front desk.
I interacted with 2 different young ladies who seemed not to give a damn about their job.
This is perhaps perception, but reading other comments, it's apparently a shared feeling.

Dr Kayla Walderman is the BEST doctor EVER!
Excellent physician, calm, patient, understanding, listening to your issue and helps you out!

I wouldn't normally write a bad review as I understand medical offices can be busy, people are not normally at their best, and doctors are inundated with different ailments. However, my experience with Dr. Mehra, unfortunately, is one that I think I should mention given my experience. I had an outer and middle ear infection for over a month that wouldn't clear and had gone through 10 days of Amoxi and Cipradex drops to treat. My ear was still infected, sore, and fully blocked when I saw him. Dr. Mehra looked in my ear and said that it was a buildup of wax and the reason that my hearing seemed muted was due to sinus pressure. He prescribed me no further antibiotics and had the nurse give me a simple rinse with warm water to flush. The rinse made my symptoms worse. He commented that the rinse may be uncomfortable as my ear seemed "inflamed and irritated". After I agreed and said it was because I had an ear infection he condescendingly responded,

-"No. It's just wax. Amoxi and Cipradex is our first and only line of defence. There's nothing else to give you. It will go away on its own. "

It did not go away on its own. I then went to another clinic where they confirmed I still, in fact, had an infection and the doctor prescribed me both stronger antibiotics and stronger otic drops. I will not be returning to East Liberty Medical.

The Medical Receptionists and other staff there, however, have always been very lovely and efficient. They are the reason this was not a one star.

Poor service is a constant at this place. The receptionists casually converse while patients wait in line to be seen. Wait times are usually over an hour, though it’s a densely populated area so this makes sense, but better time management could help. There’s no prioritizing of babies/toddlers, which combined with the long wait time is problematic. Find another place if possible.

The brunette receptionist with glasses is very rude to customers. She treats visitors like objects and sometimes straight up ignores you. Also like to add that the medical staffs including the RNs are professional and effective.

As a walk-in, they are quite fast and efficient. Don’t let a full room scare you off! As a family doctor, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Dr Chang and Dr Mehra. I can’t say enough good things about the two of them. The nurses that do flu shots, take blood samples and other needle things are experts and make it easy for people not comfortable with needles like myself. My whole family, including a young child, have been going here for years. Overall, this is my fav downtown doctor office.

If I could give this clinic no stars I would, I just do not understand how a clinic can run with such rude receptionists, every time I go in all they are doing taking about there plans for the weekend. There first priority should be the patients. I stood in front of the receptionist, with dark hair for 4 minutes before she even acknowledged that i was standing there, and when she did acknowledge me, she could not even look up at me. Do these girls not realize that when people come in they are usually at their worst, Please be kind, Management you need to to something about this. People should not be treated like this, I will be telling people in the area not to go here, I do not need to feel that I am bother them, or to be made to feel bad that I came into your clinic

My Family MD is the best, good patient care, super easy to talk to, great empathy with my challenges. Have patience and willing to refer me to other specialists when necessary. Unlike the previous family physician I was going to. Excellent knowledgeable and super patient Doctor.

Terrible waiting time, and worst reception ever. Two lady work at the reception, when I stand there to inquire about my waiting time, they keep talking to each other, and completely ignore me, just like I am invisible to them. And They are very are to answer a simple question of how long the waiting time is. This is just very disappointing.
To answer your response, I registered at 1: 15 and see the doctor at 3: 55, which is 2 hour and 40 min.

I have been seeing Liam Maund, RMT for almost a year now and have always been impressed with his level of expertise and ability to work with you to reduce any problem areas. As someone who walks literally everywhere and works a desk job my back, shoulders and IT band issues are prominent. With a previous provider, one of these issues was never addressed despite it being raised. Liam not only has helped me with these issues but he has recommended customized stretches to use in between sessions and I have always left his sessions feeling as though a big improvement has occurred! Highly recommend.

If you want to book an annual physical with your family MD here, DO NOT use their online system. I was just informed (the night before my appointment) that they only book "regular" appointments online, which are only TEN MINUTES long - how you can have a quality visit with your health practitioner if you're only given 10 minutes maximum is beyond me. The online system wasn't clear and I didn't notice any indications that I had to book a physical via telephone only. This should be stated clearly and in bold on the website.

Anyway, they told me I have to re-schedule if I want a full physical, which isn't always easy for people who need to request the time off work/vacation to have time for appointments.

So frustrating!

Wait times are more than double what they tell you. I waited almost 4 hours to be seen by the doctor during off peak hours

No complaints with the doctors here (5 stars), in fact my family doctor is here and amazing.all of the other doctors that I have seen in the Walk-in, have been great. BUT.
PLEASE, let the receptionists know that when patients are coming in and standing at the front, to kindly stop the “ conversation” they are having with each other. This seems to be an ongoing problem (at least every single time I’ve been there) I probably waited a good 5 mins for them to finish talking to each other before they acknowledged me 2 weeks ago when I came for my flu shot. This is extremely rude and very unprofessional. If you really value the patients here, I would suggest giving them this feedback.

Had a terrible experience with this place, especially with the lady doctor-Dr. Alison Charlebois. Wrong diagnosis and totally stressed me out with unnecessary and wrong tests. Rude and unhelpful staff. Will never go back.

Dr, Brendan was very polite and down to earth, even though he was very busy attending to multiple patients and he still managed to be calm and stress free. The receptionist seems pretty nice from my point of view and I don’t know what the other reviewers are talking about. Thank you again Dr. Brendan for making my visit a good one.
