I went to GMI today for a scheduled mammogram as part of the Ontario Breast Screening program. The initial call I made resulted in me leaving a message for the staff to call me back. A staff called later and offered an appointment day & time. When I arrived for that appointment (10 minutes early as suggested), the receptionist was polite and effective. I waited a few minutes before being called by the technician, Julia. The procedure was carried out with precision and care. What can be an uncomfortable experience was done with smooth, practiced skill. I can't say I have ever had a "bad" mammogram experience, but today, Julia demonstrated exceptional care and professionalism. She is amazing at her job!

Doctor sent a requisition for an Ultrasound for my shoulder November 1st. They accepted it and confirmed they will call me to arrange an appointment. I called January 11th and was informed that they aren't booking for Shoulder Ultrasounds. Apparently, they haven't had anyone who can do them for months. Nor do they know when they will be returning! When were they going to inform me or my Doctor about this? If you aren't providing a service you need to advise the professionals who referring patients to you. I guess this is the unprofessionalism you should expect when an organization knows you have no where else to go in Guelph. Well, I'm taking my business to Erin Diagnostic Clinic. I got in on a cancellation for tomorrow.

Came here to get some x-rays done. I had no idea what to expect, so I took the afternoon off work to get the x-rays done. I was in and out within 20 minutes on a Wednesday afternoon. So i was able to enjoy my afternoon off.
The intake nurse and the nurse who took my x-rays were both wonderful and very personable.
I would definitely recommend coming here!

I really wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt, as I work in health care and understand the struggles. But having walk in X-rays and not doing them by time of arrival is insane. Ive waited 1.75 hours including the line up I stood in outside prior to them opening. It’s really disappointing. What is the point of getting here early if you’re going to be bypassed by new X-ray arrivals. I understand the people who are here for other tests but when they are X-rays it becomes incredibly frustrating.

I found the technician and receptionist very friendly and on time. I was made to feel at ease and my procedure was in depth and very thorough. I highly recommend Guelph Medical Imaging.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Been here 3 times for my pregnancy ultrasounds and almost all 3 times I get a call a few days before to try and reschedule even when these appointments were booked wayyy in advance. Anyway, my worst experience was during my 20 week anatomy scan. I an older male tech with glasses and wavy dark hair. It seemed like it was after their normal hours which explains why he rushed through the entire process and refused to be helpful in answering any of my questions. Even the ultrasound pics I got were of bad quality and blurry because he was very obviously rushing. No compassion and terrible bedside manner. Anytime I asked a question, his answer was "I dunno, my job is only to take pictures so ask your doctor". He moved and jabbed the wand on top of my belly with no consideration of the pressure he was applying. I also initially asked if he could please write down the gender instead of saying it verbally as we wanted to do a little gender reveal the following weekend. He flat out just said, "no I wont put it in writing. " I asked him, "why? What's the difference? What's gonna happen if you write it down for me? ". His answer was very short and he just said "I dunno". Later in the session when my partner joins me in the room and he asks the tech the same question all of a sudden the tech says "oh I dunno it's the clinic's policy". Overall this tech was super unhelpful, had terrible bedside manner and showed no compassion - especially towards a pregnant woman already going through a lot of anxiety. Customer service and communication/delivery needs a lot of work. Definitely will no longer be coming to this clinic but I hope anyone else who does gets a way better experience than I have.

The technician I dealt with was spectacular! She made me feel comfortable and was giving step by step directions the entire time. She was very professional and compassionate checking in on me right after the ultrasound as I had to go to emerge right away. ️

The ultrasound tech was amazing! I was in for my anatomy scan, and I had my 3 year old son with me, because no one could watch him. I was worried it was going to be a disaster! However the tech was so understanding and great, it was a lovely experience.

There were no robes to cover up and had to walk down the hall visible to waiting room. Total lack of pricacy. I thought it was a fluke due to a shortage however a friend was there the other day and also complained about not having robes. This applies to male and female clients. Totally unacceptable!

If I could give Heidi 10 stars out of 5, I would! She made the experience an actual delight, which I would have never though would be a word I'd use for a medical imaging office. She was so kind, patient, clear with her instructions, very knowledgeable & informative. Such a warm personality that made all the difference in what I have previously experienced as a very cold and technical process. She's the best

Had my appointment set 2 weeks ahead and still had to wait 37 mins to be seen for the ultrasound. Expect long waits.

After looking at the many low reviews for this clinic I can understand where people are coming from when it came to the reviews of the less then perfect staff. I asked the employee's why they have been receiving such low ratings and they told me that they are burnt out and tried as many patients tend to seek them out for service. I also found a review talking about a $6M lawsuit against the owner in March of 2022 which probably doesn't help the mental health of the employees as well.

Going forward If anyone ever experiences rude or more passive aggressive behavior note these people do have a lot of weight on there shoulders and which leads to lack quality of customer service that you would more encounter at much larger hospital. I would point out the problem you have there and then as they properly are in a weird head space being, again burnt out.

Ask them how there day is going and how they are personally doing. You would be surprised at how much of a "breath of fresh air" that is for them.

I had a great experience at Guelph Medical Imaging. My familiy physician referred me here for a walk-in x-ray and the two young women at reception were fantastic. I timed it badly and didn't have much time before I had to leave for another appointment. When I told them, they were totally sympathetic (which I didn't really deserve) and made every effort to expedite my xray - and successfully so. I was out the door in about 30 mins. There seem to be a lot of low scores in these reviews that have an axe to grind with this place and are not based on reality.

I went for an x-ray at the location on Cardigan Street. All the staff members were friendly, helpful and professional at the same time. It was busy but I only had to wait for half an hour. Bonus that there is parking and its free.

You are lucky if you are able to get past the rude receptionist to make an appointment!
Firstly she sounded like she was making a huge effort to answer the phone and then when I questioned how long I would have to wait until I get a shoulder X-ray she decided to hang up on me!
If you live in Guelph you are fresh out of luck as she does the bookings for all 3 clinics!
I have no choice but to go to Cambridge today where I had no issues booking!
Good luck fellow Guelph residents dealing with this person who doesn’t have the personality to work with people!

If you're pregnant, avoid doing ultrasounds here. Their staff are mixed, some kind, competent and caring, and some the exact opposite. Your care provider may not trust the result from here and send you to a better centre for verification anyway.
This place is plagued with bad management and lack of care, which you notice as you step in and see the IKEA Lack side tables in the waiting area!
Their beds are just horrible, with essentially no pelvic or lumbar support or back adjustment mechanism. Unless you are in perfect physical shape, pain and suffering is guaranteed on these beds during an ultrasound session. On top of that, you may get one of their bad staff, who can give you a bad experience by themselves.
Anyway, avoid this place if you can.

I went to this facility on February 25th 2022 for some x-rays and again on March 28 2022 for a bone density exam. Both times my experience was very positive. I did not need an appointment on the 25th, so I just showed up with the request from my doctor and I was in and out in less than twenty minutes. I had an appointment for the exam on the 28 and again I was in and out of the facility quickly. Everyone I met was cordial and professional. I appreciated the free parking and also the functioning buttons at the doors. You have no idea how often they are not functioning in other medical facilities and shopping malls. I read in some of the reviews that this place was dirty, I disagree and I looked both times. The only suggestion I have, is that they sweep the waiting room more often when it is snowing outside. They ask people to remove their shoes in the waiting area, but it gets wet and gravel accumulates quickly, which is not nice to navigate in socks. They do offer booties to wear on your own shoes and I have even seen them help someone, with physical limitations, put them on, which he appreciated. All in all I am a very satisfied client.

Had to take my brother here for a bone density scan. The technicians were friendly and efficient. However, this place was busy and cramped. Parking is limited.

On the plus side, the building is next to the Royal Recreation Trail and Goldie Mill Park. So, I went for a walk along the river while waiting for family members.

…been waiting almost 6 MONTHS to get an ultrasound. The tech said she was done, which was a surprise since she didn’t look at the complete affect area. Was told, she had already done more than she was supposed to & that “I was now on someone else’s dime”. So I gotta wait another 6 months, time to move to private healthcare

I was first there sitting waiting for 10 minutes and then 2 more people came in. My paper was on the bottom of the pile so I got called in after their ultrasounds were done. Hardly fair that setup.

This place is the absolute worst. I was 10 minutes early for my appointment but ended up waiting for close to an hour before I got called from the waiting room. The bathroom was filthy and the tech was extremely rude to top it off. Go anywhere else even if you have to travel for it.

I went for an Xray and Ultrasound. Had a broken upper arm. The next day they sent the results of the Ultrasound that indicated a full tear on my right shoulder. For over a week waited for the x-ray. There excuse was they missed reporting on the x-ray. I saw the image that showed a crack in my humerus bone. Today they said they will assign another radiologist to send the report. Unbelievable, worst service I have ever experienced. My doctor has been calling and they still have not sent the results, 1 week later. This is the worst place anyone should go for any imaging. The guy that did the Ultrasound was ignorant and had 0 bed side manners. What a disgrace.

Very dirty and unkept place. Floors are very filthy. They don't seem to sweep or wash floors properly and expect you to walk on them. Poor pla e worst in Guelph for sure.

If u could give this place zero stars I would. Completely ridiculous. Over an hour and a half waiting for an x-ray and counting. Plus one must listen to other irate patients while you wait. Avoid if you can!

Unable to get any appointment for an urgent ultrasound after waiting 30 min on hold and being transferred multiple times. Was told they didn’t have the capacity to receive fax yet. As a member of a particular community I also no longer feel comfortable going here.

No one ever answers the phone there. The need a better receptionist or some one dedicated to client bookings and inquires. I have called several times over a 2 week period and still have not managed to get through in a timely manner. I will keep attempting, however not everyone can manage to be holding for long periods of time during work day hours.

I found staff pleasant and efficient. My ultrasound apt went well tho I was a few minutes late because I got lost. A follow-up xray took longer because of a mixup but everyone apologised. In and out in about 1 hour. Clean facility. I would go again. Thankyou to all staff.

Went for a walk-in xray. I was probably in and out within 20 minutes. I went around 4pm and there were a few other people waiting to go in. The receptionists were friendly and I was checked in immediately. The technician was very nice, she adjusted my hand (what was being imaged) gently, and told me when I could relax it. Overall, very good experience. Parking might be the only limiting factor, there weren't that many spots on the right side when I went

My fiancé and me had an appointment here scheduled a week before.the day of the ultrasound they reached out last minute to confirm the appointment. The employee who did the ultrasound rushed it took less then 30 seconds and did not move the machine around at all. The waiting room was jammed packed full of family’s but as soon as I wanted to come in I was denied. Both times we have been here it has been a terrible experience the staff is terrible at this location and this place should really consider shutting down. They have no respect and no proper management and they all seem untrained and unprofessional. This was a terrible experience. I highly recommend going somewhere different.

Absolutely the worst clinic in Guelph. I wish there wasn’t a monopoly on imaging. I will travel to Toronto next time I need imaging. Between many of the staff, the ceo etc - I can no longer support this terrible business

Attended for an ultrasound. The staff were pleasant and friendly and the ultrasound technician made me feel so comfortable! I’ve had several before and none of the previous technicians took the time to ensure I was feeling comfortable through every part. Unfortunately didn’t catch her name!

As a retired nurse, I am extremely impressed by the high standards of Guelph Imaging. I brought my 93 year old mother for tests. The staff was caring, courteous, very patient with my mother's challenged mobility. The pandemic protection standards were extremely high.

Have had two shoulder ultrasounds that were so poorly done my specialist and the imaging doctor WHO works at recommended I go elsewhere. Staff are rude and unprofessional; probably underpaid. The man who owns the clinic is advocating for the privatization of health care and openly targets LGBTQ+ people from the Guelph Imaging Twitter acct. I would go ANYWHERE but here.

I went first thing in the morning for a walk in x-ray and it took less than 10 minutes from the time I walked in to the time I walked out. The radiologist was also very nice and was joking around with me the whole time which put me at ease.

I would show up early and have a good portion of your day dedicated to waiting if you need an X-ray but I would say it was one of the fastest places I’ve been to. All staff were polite and professional except one who was exceptionally rude.

This was my first ultrasound, therefore first time having been to this clinic. It was very quick, front staff were professional and organized and technician as well as assistant were amazing! Thank you for the great service Cardigan St. Medical Imaging!

Both the Guelph Medical Imaging locations are so poorly run and incredibly frustrating to deal with. It's like no one who works there really knows what it going on. I made an appointment for a pelvic and abdominal ultrasound and had to wait a bit over a month. The day before my appt, they called to confirm. Then a few hours later called to tell me I had been scheduled with a male tech who couldn't perform the pelvic so I would now have to come in twice to do the two separately. How does this happen if they know male techs can not perform pelvic ultrasounds on women? I agreed to two separate appointments, and at my first asked to confirm the 2nd. They had no record of it. I had to reschedule again. They also forgot to burn a CD of results from a previous appointment I had requested for a specialist appointment. Then the day of my now thrice rescheduled second appointment I had to call them to confirm the appointment and get directions on how much water to drink. The lady who answered the phone was incredibly rude and told me numerous times that I had received a confirmation call the previous day and I had confirmed I would be attending. I assured her I had received no calls from either branch. I really wish I didn't have to leave a review like this, but this whole process has been so incredibly frustrating and it really seems to all come down to human error and employees here not caring about clients.: (

EDIT: When I did have my appointment the technician was WONDERFUL! It's a shame there are such organizational issues, because the tech was fabulous. Pleasant, knowledgeable, respectful. If I had only have to deal with her, this review would have been much different!

This is twice now I've been sent for x-ray and ultrasound. What they do not tell you is that x-rays are done fron 8am to 5pm but the ultrasound specialist only comes in after 5pm so it isn'tpossible to get both done regardless of what they tell you. Incredibly frustrating! Never going to this location again!

I read numerous negative reviews about this business but my experience was a good one.

Arrived at 8: 15am on Tuesday and saw there were about 7 people ahead of me in the waiting room. Took a little more than 15 minute wait and then I was called in.

The tech was courteous and professional and my procedure took about 10 minutes for her to complete, so I was in and out in about half an hour. Overall a decent experience for what it was!

I can't say enough about this facility. From the moment I called for an appointment to the end of my appointment. Staff could not have been nicer, they certainly went out of their way, the facilities are very nice, nice and clean. I arrived at 12: 15pm. The guy at front desk told me they weren’t taking anymore x-rays till quarter after 1: 00pm and said it’s first come first serve, I can either wait or come back later. I decided to wait. Later a different lady was at front desk and when people started walking in she took their health card to register in line. I went up and told her I wasn’t asked for my health card and requisition to be first in line and she said “oh.strange. ” So I’ve been waiting here for over an hour while other people who came in after me got called in first. This is ridiculous and very unprofessional. I don’t recommend coming here.

Was told I didn't need an appointment for an x-ray so I walked in only to be told they didn't have an x-ray technician in that day. The following week I tried to call to make sure there would be someone there but was hung up on first then left on hold for an eternity. When I finally did get in staff were courteous and the service was quick. Mixed emotions.

Not a very good experience at 54 cardigan location the lady that did my ultrasound today thought it was funny that my 1 1/2 was crying for me and said he is ok daddy can look after him for 45 mins and not let them in the room until I was almost down when she was ready to tell us the gender

Useless! I came to this location last week after my doctor sent me for an X-ray. They only had one technician on and it was going to be at least 1.5 hour wait. They told me to come back another time. Just walk in. I left work early today and arrived at 3: 45 to be told that no technician was doing xrays at that location today. They told me to go to 83 Dawson. I arrived at 4 pm and was told they are at capacity and could not see me today. Really? ! I asked about extended hours as I work out of town. They are only open 8-5 pm and are not open Saturday's. It cost me $4 in parking to be sent on a wild goose chase. Clearly there is a need for extended hours and/or more technicians.

I have visited this clinic twice for obstetric ultrasounds and had good experiences both times. The second time I had to wait 20 minutes past my appointment time for my scan, but it was worth it for our lovely tech Denise who made the experience wonderful. Like most other ultrasound clinics, this clinic has a [somewhat ridiculous] policy that partners can only come into the room at the end of the appointment and the room arrangement is such that the partner stands down by your feet, but we didn't feel rushed to see the things we wanted to see. Both times the techs printed a couple pictures for us to take home. There is ample free parking. I like coming to this clinic.

Would give 0 star if it was possible!
Most unprofessional office in the medical filed. Don't wast your time waiting for your appointment with this practice. Best you go to the hospital or another city, because your appointment will be moved every month, as they put others to fit their 1 machine they have. Would of been nice if they told us in Feb, go to the hospital instead of waiting for 5 months for an appointment.

Ours was moved from Jan to Feb, Feb to March, And Now May and not sure what they will say for May.

This review is for the Cardigan street location because I have had wonderful experiences here compared to the other Medical Imaging locations around Guelph. The staff are exceptional, kind, empathetic, and professional not to mention the front desk staff are friendly and approachable compared to other locations. I will continue to use this location in the future!

Would it kill you to smile receptionists? Every time I came to your window I was smiling and you barely even looked at me.
I get that I was under 12 weeks with my pregnancy, but the least you can do is explain ahead of time why you can’t legally tell me anything or show me anything. I would have understood why my first ultrasound was so impersonal and pointless to say the least.

My wife had already gone in for a dating ultrasound and I was there a few minutes later after parking. 1 star for reception because I told them my wife had already gone in and she told me they would call me in. They never did. 5 stars for the lady doing the ultrasound for offering to let us both go back in after her next appointment so we could do it again and see it together.
