What is there to say about this venerable takeout institution in Orangeville that is not already known?

The food? Delicious.

The website? Functional.

The lineup? Crowded but moving.

Guest Wok has never bungled an order for us, or delivered a dish that wasn't delicious. General Tso & Shanghai noodles for the win.

You can't go wrong with Guest Wok.

Very annoyed when at my suggestions based on website info my friends and I went to guest wok to dine in today only to be they don’t do dine in. If that is case website should have dine in removed. Very misleading as their take out food is good.

Ordered takeout for 16 people and it arrived on time with all the dishes and still warm! Food was delicious and a great price.

This place is nostalgic for me, it is an Orangeville staple. No longer from the area I have gone years without eating here and missed it so much! Finally got takeout on the weekend because was passing through and it did not disappoint. Just as I remember it! No one does Chicken Chow Mein or Chicken Balls like Guest Wok. I have tried so many places and none compare. Nice trip down memory lane.

Normally I enjoy food when ordered but unfortunately, not this time. Ordered 2 lunch specials and waited 10 minutes which was fast. Upon opening the containers at home, the bean sprouts were covered in some sort of jelly type of substance and the broccoli was soft. The breaded meat was fatty. The rice was ok. Unfortunate, because usually it’s quite good. The young lady who takes your order is very nice though

We order from here on Boxing day, very large order. It was ready on time. Food is always top notch.

So disappointed with our food here, to the point we couldn’t even eat it. The meat was tough, lacked flavour, and the vegetable and noodle dishes were waterey. I called in, and the initial staff member on the phone was kind and responsive, but when they passed me on to the manager to resolve the issue he was extremely rude and yelled at me over the phone. I was shocked that he raised his voice and in disbelief by the things he said, as I was just providing feedback, and was completely respectful. Will absolutely never be returning here again and would not recommend this restaurant to others.

I do not generally leave bad reviews (or reviews in general for that matter) however ai am blown away with the lack of customer service and horrific treatment from the location owner when I called to let him know the food was cold. We live less than 5 minites away from the location and the owner said we were lying and its physically impossible fle the food to be cold and continued yelling over me when I was trying to explain myself. There are a lot of deserving struggling takeout locations that are happy to listen to their customers feedback if there is an issue. For 50$ for some chicken balls and fried rice I wouldnt give this man my business ever again.

I have enjoyed this place for years about time I gave it the five stars it deserves. Literally miss this place anytime I'm eating Chinese food from someplace else.

I am beyond disappointed. I don’t ever complain but let me inform you about my experience yesterday. I bought chicken hoi fen and asked for a refund due to bad chicken tasting sour.

There was no apology from the owners but spoken poorly to and was lectured on how fresh the chicken were and also to mention they were served to every order of the day. They did not apologize at all for serving me slimy sour chicken.

I come here to support your business almost every week and let me tell you I will not be back. You’ve lost a customer.

Since moving to Canada in 2017, I've been searching for a great Chinese restaurant and have frequently come away disappointed. With my first order in October 2020 from Guest Wok, that search is over.

From the ease of online ordering, to quick pickup, and downright delicious food, Guest Wok has it all. We ordered a number of Szechuan dishes and were pleasantly surprised to have some spiciness and tingling feeling on top of well seasoned, flavorful food.

I'd highly recommend anyone in the Orangeville area make this their Chinese restaurant of choice, it was worth the 25 min drive for me!

Great food and service. We had wanted to dine in but unfortunately they didn't have dine in open. It wasn't too big a deal that we had to settle for takeout as they provided plates and cutlery.

Taken fore granted for my entire life until I moved away and discovered that the majority of Chinese Food out there is complete garbage. Black Pepper Beef is killer!

Ordered from guest wok. Ordered 62.00 of food and the only thing edible was their rice. The shrimp was hard as a rock. The Cantonese chow neon was mush couldn’t even pick up the noodles veg were mush. Sweet sour pork was hard not chewable at all and call to talk to manger and he was yelling at me not to come and order his food again. Go screw yourself. Watch v what you order from this place.

Food is ok, prices are ok, they are unable to make a a meal spicy when asked before which baffles me. Is it because the food is already pre-made or they just don’t own any spicy ingredients? Anyways good for Orangeville standards. Nothing special

Ordered a personal dish with sweet and sour CHEESE Wontons only to find we got Pork Wontons upon getting home I called to advise them of the mistake and the lady over the phone said well it was free anyways because you paid cash. This should never be the answered and never even offered to replace the wontons we eat here very frequently but unfortunately for the person over the phone they lost a reoccurring customer.

After an appointment, decided to come by here for lunch and was not disappointed!

The staff was friendly and helpful, helping me identify the items I was looking for, and the food came out at a decent time.

The food I ordered was very good, and the portion size for that price is fantastic, especially for a lunch special!

First experience at this restaurant. Waited about 35 mins after I had placed my order for General Chicken wings with steam rice and was told it would take 20 mins. After I finally got my order, I opened the bag and to no surprise, no cutlery’s. Chicken wings is drizzled with sooo much sauce.way too much for my liking. Cmon guys! You guys can do better than this. This order is more like chicken stew and its not what I expected.

The sauce is very sweet and to make it better just add a little bit of sauce to the wings after being fried and mix it up. Simple.

Don’t over do it by pouring 400ml of sweet sauce on the wings.

My stomach was not good after eating 3 wings.

This is definitely rhe best Chinese food in Orangeville! I've been going here for over 20 years! The food is always good and reasonably priced!

Not too many other options for Chinese food in the surrounding area. It's usually pretty good but not consistently.

This is the worst food I have ever had. The noodles had no taste at all very bland. I wouldn't recommend this at all.

I was recommended this restaurant by a friend. The food was great, really large portions which I consider a plus. I will definitely be coming back!

We are always so happy with these meals. We order lunch specials and love the way it tastes the same every single time. They are well priced and offer large quantities. We recently moved far but when my husband works in Orangeville, we treat ourselves from time to time. Guest Wok is our go to place!

They are consistent and what you expect from Chinese food.

Worst experience on Valentine’s Day. I ordered my meal at 6: 20. They said it would be deliver at 7: 00. I called at 7: 20 and was told that my order is out for delivery. It is now 8: 00 and still no food. I was told they are short on drivers and there is nothing they can do, so does that mean I food will be cold! End up canceling my order.

We've been ordering for years but not anymore after seeing a guy in the kitchen loading noodles to containers with his bear hand!
Customer service at that place is the worst you can get in Orangeville

Ordered early because it was New Years Day. Food came but was cold. Also to my surprise the delivery guy wasn't wearing a mask. We try to support our local restaurants during these tough times for them so was really disappointed he wasn't wearing a mask. It will be a long while before I order again for the no mask reason alone.

I order hot sauce always with my food because thats how i enjoy my food - Spicy. But Guest Wok always “Forget” to add spicy sauce and when you call them and ask where is the spicy sauce they would simply say oh we will add a note to your account. And they don’t even apologize, what a terrible customer service. So guys and girls if you like your food spicy it is your job to remind them a thousand times on call, before they dispatch your food, otherwise guess what, a note will be added to your account to help them remind next time. Wow! Your money and tips are not good enough for them to remember how you like your food. Beware of these helpless people who have trouble remembering to add spicy sauce or see the notes or see it and then ignore it. I wish a lot of people see this and get their food the way they want.

My order consented of several items the worse was vegetable curry ugh I know my curry & it was the worse ever couldn't finish & the steamed rice a big goo

Recently the quality has gone down a notch and it seems like that there has been a change of ownership as they seem to care very little about these issues as they choose not to worry or respond to them at all, which is very different compared to some fine Chinese food restaurants around the area.

Unfortunately, not the best food we have had here. My chicken with diced vegetables and almonds had only a mere trace of chicken! This place has always been good for us previously. Hopefully just a one off.

Ordered a lunch item for less than 10 dollar. Eventually ended up paying more than 20 dollars because without informing me on the phone they changed it to 2 separate full dinner portions. When went to collect the item was told lunch items and at 3pm. Could have informed me on the phone if this was the case. Felt like a scam to me.

This is the only place we go to when craving great Chinese food! Easy to order online or by phone, allowing for subs in the combos is a huge plus for a picky family of 5. Well priced with left over for 1-2 days.

First time ordering take out - had lunch specials. The food was delicious! The veggies were fresh, chicken balls were full of chicken and not just breading, and most importantly the proportions were pleasantly large for the price. It was literally 2 meals for $8.00
If I lived in Orangeville I would go here more often! Too bad, just passing through. But the 4.2 stars are very justified.

Just found out if you order before 4: 00 you can get your meal in 20 minutes. That is fantastic for a Saturday

I am from out of town but was in Orangeville for business. I stopped at this place which seemed to be one of the only Chinese food spots in the area. I ordered the $8 lunch special which was amazing, portion size is huge. I definitely recommend this place and I hope to be back soon

I have been ordering from here for many years. The food is always ok and generally good service. However, the last few visits have left me highly disappointed. My most recent visit has left me so that I will never be ordering from there again. Chicken balls were swimming in chow mien sauce leaving them soggy and disgusting. When I called to talk about this I was yelled at and told never order from him again. That sir is not a problem and I will refer anyone to you again. I would not even give 1 star but had to inorder to post.

Great Chinese Food, ordered off their website and schedule a pickup time. They were a little behind my pickup time but worth it.

The online ordering was smooth, got a heads up email that the order was being cooked. Everything was ready and hot early for pickup. Very fresh and very good. Will definitely be visiting again!

Service over the phone is horrible. They are very rude. Originally when I called I asked for something that they said they can do no problem.sent me the complete wrong thing and when I call again and ask about it, they tell me "oh no we don't ever do that". Like why didn't you just tell me that the first time to save me the trouble. Which then I had to take time out of my day to go get my money back (when I shouldn't of had to in the first place).

Good Price for a good meal. Friendly staff. Recommend placing an order for pick up if you are in a rush.

Took an hour in a half to get our order. Ordered at 7: 05 and it arrived 8: 45 ridiculous lady on the phone was sassy. There was " sorry about that, sorry its late" nothing. You need to work on delivery and proper customer service and deliveries being delivered on time need to work on that.

Best chinese food in Canada hands down its been there for 35 - 40 years now and it just gets better

Ordered the sesame chicken on two occasions, both times was just breaded chicken with sesame seeds in batter. Very dissapointed. In recipes online, and at other Chinese food places I've been, this is not how it is prepared. Just rename it to breaded chicken.

Poor customer service. No listening skills. The girls in front were in a rush to take order. I specifically asked about combination chopsuey and was told it has chicken and shrimp but was surprised to see beef and pork in it. Food is tasteless.

The move from Toronto to Inglewood was a huge change for us, and it was tough trying to find a good Chinese spot.
The customer service is fantastic and so is the food, o course a few things could be altered to our tastebuds, but overall it was great.
We have ordered the combonation fried rice and noodles, generals, and honey garlic spare ribs so far.
This is officially our go to spot if we're craving Chinese

Terrible service, ordered food two hours ago. When we called the first time they said it was on its way called the second time and was told they never received the order! Come on people we order all the time from you. Very poor service

Over cooked, dry, chewy and tasteless. An hour later and still feel nauseous from the taste and texture of the general chicken. Definitely not having that again. JB Panda is much better and fresher. Way overpriced.

This has been my go to restaurant for Chinese food for many years. Myself and family have always enjoyed the food. Can be very busy, but service is usually #1

Horrible customer service. Long waits and the staff don't care if they loose your business. Used to love this place but after how we were treated guess we won't return. Other customers waiting agreed about the poor service.

I ordered pa thai a couple weeks ago and had complained that there was not any vegetables in it, and dry.
They gave me a credit for another order the next time I ordered food, that's great!
Today I ordered for the whole family.
I ordered my pad thia, chow mien, and some other stuff. I even asked for extra sauce on the pad thia cause it was dry the last time.and again not one vegetable in the chow mein or pad thai, and it was still dry.really?
I just spent over $60, and get noodles?
I cant eat here if this is how they cook there dishes.
It says mixed chinese vegetables on there menu.hope the vegetables dishes have vegetables in it!

I have reviewed Guest Wok before, under different circumstances and they ranked a 5 for the food.

This review is for environmental awareness and listening to the customer.

As I love this place but love the environment more I asked for a non-plastic friendly option to eat in.

First they have no sustainable options. Second, when I offered to bring a clean plastic container from the Guess Wok to reuse they refused as it may contaminate the kitchen.

On three attempts I voiced my opinion for sustainable choices and received three strikes.

Even the Bulk Barn, right across the street, promotes the use of your own containers and they don’t warn of food contamination.

So on the last day of trying, I brought in my clean container, was turned away and went around the corner to grab a sub to eat with my friend.

Three attempts at a greener planet means three less stars or a two out of 5!

If you want to eat, dine-in, sustainable Chinese food my choice is Four Season Buffet!

I have been a fan since I was a kid and am still a fan today. Best Chinese food in Orangeville at the best price. Check out the lunch menu.

What can you say, best Chinese food around. They will even cater to lower sodium diets, just ask when ordering. Food tastes great!
