The best South Indian Dosa in GTA area hands down, whoever says otherwise Do Not Trust Them! Cooked to perfection, Always consistent with their food and everything cooked fresh! Love everything about this place and their food. Guru lakshmi never disappoints!

Great place to have some yummy south Indian food We ordered Masala dosa and sambar vada, both were delicious.

We went there a day prior but the front person was rude and told us all the seats are filled and there is no point waiting however we went again the next day and had to wait for an hour and a half. The wait is insane but the food is really cheap and tastes amazing - our server was really nice as well and gave us some good suggestions. I had the green dosa that’s at 200 spice level.

Quite literally the best south indian food place in all of G. T. A. The flavours are incredible! The food is extremely high quality and the long wait times are totally worth it!

Amazing food, amazing service, everything is quick and super tasty, specially the dosa. The only thing is that you have to reserve in advance if you want to dine in, because the place gets packed.

Food here is amazing, they are super busy and you need reservations.
The downside is, tables are too close and service is like they want you to leave quickly.
But Food is extraordinary, that’s what brings you back.

Normally a long wait, we were lucky to get a table as soon as we reached. The mini idli’s along with a chettinad dosa is worth trying.

I think this place is a over rated.
Dosa and Uttapam that we ordered were very good quality wise.
The potato (aalo) masala is alright. We tried two different dosa and the only thing changed in there is the spice powder and this potato masala was the same.
Sambar was the best part of my dish but I would have preferred it was the dosa and its masala.
They do took care of my dietary conferns of being vegan so I will add a star for that. Or else was going to give 3 stars if I am being honest.

Good food but terrible customer service in all aspects from ordering food (don't pick up the phone) to now not having dine in available. The hours of operation are also very limited.

Very good taste of south Indian food. Only take out right now because of COVID.otherwise very busy restaurant and needs to book in advance.

Their website doesn't work and their phone doesn't work. Dine in not opened yet. They need to make some serious improvements.

This is the best South Indian restaurant in North America I must say. They know how to maintain the quality and consistency in their food.

With time the place has become worse on customer service. I have no complaints on food quality but little respect for the customer can certainly make you feel complete. But this is lacking at Guruukshmi for years. Request the management to treat the customer with some RESPECT. It is important otherwise most of the times I end up eating at Saravana bhavan due to quality and respect. Will let you decide. All the best to the owners and Staff.

We ordered Mysore bhaji masala dosa, dahi idli combo and idli- sambar. Everything tasted superb.
I really liked their sambar and Mysore bhaji. It is a must try if you are visiting Brampton area.

Authenticate south indian taste and simple service. Don't understand why this restaurant still is not starting dine in. Must try menduvada and Maysoor masala.

Had good experience in the past, but this time, the food quality was not good. Covid measures are excellent though

This south Indian restaurant is highly over rated. They neither have authentic dosas nor Sambhar and chatneys. Customer service is poor as well. Search for better option and you will find better authentic places.

Update: it’s been a while now and all restaurants have opened dine in. If done correctly, with a little effort, there is just no reason why dine in can’t be safely reopened. The experience is compromised with take out.

Extremely amazing South Indian food eatery in Mississauga. If you want to taste the real authentic and amazing taste made with some fine quality ingredients (I am remembering Upma with ghee here) this is your go to place.

The Sambar, chutneys are fantastic too. Since COVID, they have been doing pick ups only but I wish they signed up with other delivery apps or started dine in with restrictions lifting. Definitely recommended.

Food is great but service (even with delivery only) is horrible. Took 10 mins to get my order even after arriving 5 mins after the scheduled pick up time and the guy at the door said I should wait because I was late to pick up my order. I said I was only 5 mins late to which they said, they are too busy for even a 5 min delay. I think they just need some good old school competition to get them to care about customers

One of the finest did I ate in Canada.
Cheti naad dosa and paneer dosas are extraordinary. Probably you won't even eat this good in your back home.

The most authentic and delicious South Indian food you will find in entire GTA! Good quality and excellent quality. Their adherence to safety protocol must be lauded. We throughly enjoyed the take out and can't wait for them open doors for inhouse dining. I would highly recommend GuruLukshmi to anyone interested in tasting the most authentic South Asian flavors.

This is so far the best Indian restaurant in GTA. They have variety of south Indian meals, and the dosas are just outstanding. Plus point is they keep check if any food allergies. I, myself a vegan and they served me diary-free and strictly no ghee at all.
Staff is so knowledgeable and takes care of all your requests.
Food is amazing and their COVID prevention system is good. They make sure there is no rush and customers receive everything they ordered.
Management beats the is 5star restaurants.

Best vegetarian food in the area. Although the queues could have been better managed for pickups. Will recommend for south Indian food.

I orderd 4 dosa. 2 were spicy mysore dosa. One was kids special. And the last one was mysore bhaji masala. The taste was awesome. I'll go to this place every time when I want to have some delicious south food. They offer only take out for now. So, kindly order in advance. So, you don't have to wait for more time.

IDK.maybe the Gods wanted me to have a nice bday dinner since I had an opposite experience from all the 1 star reviews… just saying. As per their automated phone recording, their dine-in is currently closed and they’re also not taking call-in orders. You must order online or in-person. Online orders seemed too much of a hassle for me because I didn’t feel like creating an acct, so I opted to drive 30mins instead. I must say that their covid protocols are immaculate. It is followed to the T. Koodos to you! Specifically ordering Jain/Swaminarayan was painless. I received my order # on txt as well as the approx time for p/u. I followed their instructions online/phone recording/at the door and walked out super impressed. And YES, my family and I ate our hearts out! Also, I didn’t have any issues with the staff, either. It was a perfect take-out experience and I applaud you for that! TY!

Still the best dosa spot in the GTA. We were thinking that take out won’t be as good as dining in and having it hot. But it exceeded our expectations in terms of how warm and tasty it was. The staff is very cautious about Covid-19 protocol and have created a safe environment to have the customer pick up their order. Definitely worth getting a take out from here. We’ve been a loyal customer s for ever 10+ years.

Travelled from Edmonton to Toronto to visit my sis. This one was on my list, it sure did tick all the boxes a must visit for South Indian food lover's.

Tried this place for the first time a couple of weeks back, ate the dosas in the car as it is still take out only coz of the pandemic. Absolutely delicious.

5 stars all the way from customer service to taste and to packaging! Amazing food at a great price.the precautions taken for covid pandemic is awesome. Thank you guru lukshmi for taking customer safety very seriously. Would highly recommend placing online order.

The dine in was closed because of covid-19. They had take outs. Very well packed food. Great dosa n idli's. They gave 3 types of Chutneys n hot sambar. The Vada was very average as it was not very crisp. Will definitely go n dine in once when it's open.

One of the worst customer service I have seen in Canada. My father ordered a few dishes for take out and requested the person over the phone that one of the items from the order should be packed separately. The reply he gets is we cant do it because we are extremely busy. Not sure if the management is reading this review but highly disgraceful staff you folks have. Don't forget you folks have succeeded because of the customers and with such monopolistic approach and such arrogant staff, customers will surely turn away to better restaurants in GTA. Hope you rectify customer service because such staff should either be thoroughly trained or fired!

Amazing south indian food with mouthwatering taste.

Worst dosas, we ordered "spring and chole dosa"and they put only raw cabbage and boil chole without any spices in dosa.
Mr. Owner i guess you need to read your menu first because i read that properly.

I am going to be their permanent customer now onwards. Must try once. Cheese Dosa was an amazing dish, like how do you come with some so crispy cheesy with a lot of flavors. Their Thali has all the flavors you can expect in Indian cuisine, it was enough for me and my wife. A lot of love to staff, see you soon again.

To start with the dosage was ok soggy it we tried their mysore bhaji dosa and andhra dosa both of them tasted blank. The chutney was watery plus the sambar also not that great. Waste of money place.

Horrible service. Customer service representatives were not concerned about the brand of the organization they are working for. They didn’t care if someone is leaving because of their rude behaviour. I won’t recommend this place.

Guru Lukshmi is a very fine restaurant with great food. If you like South Indian cuisine, this is your place. They have a variety of food options including idli, vadaa, uttapam, etc.but their dosas are to die for. They have enough variety to please any kind of palate. They have a nice decor and the staff is fantastic. The only concern for this restaurant is that it is always busy so if you really wish to eat here, you must make a reservation off their website as early in the day as possible if you have a party larger than 4. But once you arrive at the restaurant, they are very prompt with taking your order and brining the food out quick and fresh. This is a fantastic must-try restaurant!

I go there, have ULTIMATE South Indian food and feel at homeland without 16 hrs air travel. Undoubtedly better than the best South Indian Foodfor being here GL#Travel2Homeland

Very disappointed with food and service. The place was not busy at all even then very low quality customer service. Food came cold and then I found hair in my food. No apology at all. It seemed like they are kind of used to this. Kids meal was not as it usually is. When asked and was given random explanation that we have reduced amount cheese in kids dosa as kids don't like much cheese. We were not told before placing the order.
We have been visiting this place for years. We have been very loyal and has recommended this place to our family and friends. I don't think I will be coming back to this place in future and will let my family and friends out this bad experience.

I went there today for lunch. I ordered a soup, cheese dosa, and mango lassi. Mango lassi was beyond delicious, the cheese dosa was very nice and came with 3 chutneys and some lentil soup. And the soup was spicy and ok

Delicious dosas with lots of flavourful combinations - you cannot go wrong with the regular masala dosa but we also enjoy the Mysore and Paneer with vegetable masala. Took off one star because we asked for mild (in terms of the dosas and the fillings) but the waiter never informed us that there is a spicy and mild sambhar and by default brought us the spicy one (it should have been a given that we wanted mild everything). The sambhar is tasty but not when it's way too spicy so that detracted from the meal. Otherwise, friendly staff and great ambiance. Also, food comes very quickly!

Absolutely delicious food and of course dosas. Can be on the expensive side, but worth every dollar. Recommend to reserve online; wait times can be higher otherwise. Pretty busy place and slightly cramped for space too. Overall, highly recommended

Very busy you must reserve a spot. It is just like any other udupi place nothing too special that being said the food was great I brought my team of Chefs to this place.the place is probably the best of it's kind in terms of preofessionalism. Our order came in the server was patient in dealing with us as except me all of us were new to the cuisine.get Filter coffee you must get filter coffee.

I don't know what the hype is. Too much oily and salty food. Can't taste anything besides salt. Tried mysore, spicy mysore and Andhra paper dosa and it was below average.

Nice food, could be a little bit more authentic. Visited here during our vacation to Canada, liked the ambience, the staff were very attentive, but could have been more customer friendly rather than just taking orders. Dosa flavour is good, however the chutney could have been more impressive.

We went to this restaurant again after our experience two years ago. Seems like this place has gotten too busy to keep up with its flavors and service. Has lost the core sense of restaurant hospitality to greed.

Seems like we were rushed all the way through, from showing up to restaurant even after making reservations, food came before the drinks.

The worst part my dad was still drinking his coffee and this guy is literally like why are you guys waiting - get up and go. I had to point him towards my dad that he is still enjoying his coffee. Not at all professional way to deal with customers - very disappointing.

My first time at Guru Lukshmi and I could not see what the hype was about. First is the wait in a crowded room, then the manner in which the staff treats you. The order taker was pleasant but the others were not accommodating.

Food: The menu boasts the choice of different amounts of oil and degrees of spiciness. We were not asked about it nor did we think of stating our selection when placing the order. My order was very spicy hot and the spices were mediocre. I could not get the flavour since it was too spicy. The sides provided (coconut and green chutney) were bland. They give very little sambal (Dhaal). Overall I did not enjoy the taste and the atmosphere.

Cutlery: They only provide you with spoons, no knives and forks.

Washrooms: small and messy, the hall way had an unpleasant door.

Payments: they don’t take Amex.

Authentic and best South Indian vegetarian at Brampton/Mississauga. If you are living in this area don’t miss out the best food in the city. Makesure, book a table in advance always packed as there are limited seats and they open only in evening.

A must visit place for a hardcore south Indian cuisine lover. Must try idlis. Moreover they also have Indian cold drinks like kashmira, Sosyo, etc. Also dont forget to taste pan and lassi

Great place for wide range of South Indian dishes. Excellent service and quality. Value for money. Only thing missing is the Saunf (Fennel seeds) at the end.

Huge selection of dosas which are tasty as well. They have made a name for themselves. I'll deduct 1 star because it's so difficult to get a seat here at the last minute on weekends.

Gurulukshmi is a rare example of a South Indian restaurant which still has held itself to a high standard since it's unremarkable inception in a small nook in Mississauga (Erin Mills area).
The husband and wife team are still quite hands on which may be the reason the quality is still maintained.
They have added a tremendous variety of Dosas over the time including a special 'Jain' or 'Swaminarayan' menu with food without onion or garlic.
A definite must-visit for all vegetarians but please reserve at least a day prior to your visit.

Highly unprofessional, servers with little knowledge and poor attire. Even servers were not good at taking the order and brought me something which I didn’t order. Even though we had booking we were not let in since 2 people on list were not there with us. Food is not ethnic South Indian it’s just hyped and even wash area was dirty, unhygienic.
Simply concluding to never go to this place.waste of money.
