Haidilao Hot Pot Markham

This place is perfect for family gatherings and friend get-togethers. The ambiance is comfortable, and the service is excellent, especially Judy. She provided us with enthusiastic and attentive service, and her attitude was very gentle.
We will definitely continue to dine here.

Such a great time here at Haidilao. I have been to many hotpot restaurants but this place has set the bar for me. Our waitress Navin was speedy & explained everything perfectly. Navin was also attentive to our needs & the other patrons around us. Will certainly return!

Food was good. Their spicy is actually really spicy even though I love spicy food. So be careful.

This is my first time experience dining at HAIDILAO at Markham location. This place definitely offers not only amazing hotpot but also excellent service (thanks to Cici and Massie).

Came here for lunch and dinner all the time, always have great times with friends. Meats and veg always fresh and sweet, drink's choices are great too. Taste delicious every time! Never disappoints. Chairmane

Best service experience in chinese restaurant in markham. Food is ok, fiona is best server ever.

It was my first time trying hotpot in a couple years and I'm glad I came here! My server Samantha was very nice and made sure that we were taken care of, even offering to peel our shrimp for us when it arrived. Would definitely come back again!

UPDATE: Their management responded publicly but I have not heard from them after such claim to communicate in private regarding this incident. I also noticed a previous review that was posted before mine which was suddenly bumped up to make it look more recent. So please be wise on knowing which ones are legit.

Pros: Good quality food and broths, and better service than other hotpot places.
CONS: PRICIER AND SERVER FORCES YOU TO TIP. NO SOCIAL DISTANCING MARKS ON SAUCE BAR so be prepared to deal with inconsiderate customers.

Had a nice hotpot dinner with hubby and cousins on a Thursday evening November 25th. Service was attentive (Yumi is our server), extras were pleasingly assumed and handed over to customers unlike other restaurants (they provide aprons, mini bags for masks, and one of the nice gentleman staff even gave me a hair tie without us having to ask for it), and the broths were tasty and being filled up as we go with our meals. We got the combo for 4 which was satisfying.

Reason for taking two stars instead of giving full 5 stars is because of it being pricey than the usual hotpot places, and servers would impose tips to customers. We split the bill into two, supposed to be $95 per bill, we gave her $100, but Yumi wasn't satisfied and told hubby "You have to give a tip". Gave her $15 more to make her leave us alone. So imagine how this tactic is being done per bill out and per table they serve.

If this is the case, it should have been indicated via the website or their ordering system that certain gratuities amount are required so customers are aware of this. We get it, it's the pandemic and times are hard. Yes, we are giving the server a tip for sure. No, we don't like being subtly robbed/bullied for it.

We used to go to Haidilao in China and this was our first visit to the Markham location. Food was delicious and service was top notch. Samantha our server was perfect, so helpful and hospitable.

My boyfriend and I love coming here. Our server was Charmaine, she is so nice and caring. She gave us Information and instructions on how long each item needed to be cooked for and she is super helpful.
