Hakim Optical Peterborough - Lansdowne

Fantastic staff, I don't live in Peterborough but needed help with my glasses and Devina and Leanne went above and beyond to help me with my problem.
Highly recommend going to see them.

I went to Hakim's today to see about getting the frame of my glasses repaired after accidentally breaking it. I was surprised that they were able to fix things so quickly and without charge. Leeanne was very polite and professional, will be making an appointment for an exam in the near future. Thank You!

Exceptional customer service and knowledge from Optician Davina. Important medical information given to writer not disclosed by previous opticians! I highly recommend Hakim if you want the best for your eyes! I'm now a customer for life!

100% rating. I was recently away on a holiday and forgot my contacts at home (4 hours away). I called and spoke to Davina to see if there was any way of picking some up at another location, any expectation I had was blown away. She called a few locations to see who carried my exact contacts, called and asked which location would be best to pick them up from and made a follow up call to me to ensure that I had everything that was needed and I was able to get them without any hiccups.

She was polite, professional and extremely happy to help. This is a rarity these days to have someone as amazing as her. Thank you so much Davina!

I was just at Hakim Optical on Lansdowne Street in Peterborough and had a terrific salesperson help me. My glasses needed a simple repair (I had lost a screw that secured one of my glasses arms) and Leanne took me right away, fixed my glasses and didn't charge me, all in 5 minutes!

I have found the staff incredibly helpful - assisting with frame selection and even providing tips to improve eye health. I have purchased frames from the discount retailers and the quality does not match. Hakim is worth a premium.

I need to leave for vacation in approx. 12 hours from this review.last night I busted my glasses (PANIC). My regular optometrist is closed (SUPER PANIC). I called the team at Hakim on lansdowne and begged them to help me get them put back together, they so no probs bring em in (caaallmmm). In the span of 10 mins they were fixed and I was on my way! (super calm). I can't thank the team enough, they've always been so pleasant and helpful and I will certainly be a long time customer of theirs. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!

They replaced a missing screw in the frame of my glasses for free! No questions asked. Great service

Popped in to see of i could get my glasses adjusted even though I haven't been a customer before. They happily and quickly put my glasses back to lile new. I'll be a customer for sure when i meed my new pair of glasses

Charged me twice and will not refund me for 2 weeks. One staff member was extremely rude. Have no problem holding my money at Christmas time and not trying to fix it or even apologize.

Recently broke my Rayban sunglasses. The kind and supportive staff helped me get a replacement arm for my shades and did all the work to repair them with proper hardware. Very helpful and would recommend to anyone!

I expected to go in a buy a screw for my glasses frame, but I got way more than that. Instead of selling me the screw, they replaced the screw free of charge and did a free cleaning. In fact they recommend that you come in and receive this free service every few months, to help your glasses last longer. How great is that? !

Eye exam was minimal at best. The lady at the front refused to measure pupils because I wasn’t buying glasses there. Then she said she would do it for 60 dollars after paying 95 for the exam. Won’t ever go back there.

The staff are extremely professional, kind, caring and helpful. From the moment I walked into the store to the moment I left, I experienced top-notch service and I will definitely be going back!

Stupid and slow would best describe the staff I dealt with. She couldn' t understand i needed new frames for my lenses as the frame broke. They had my frame in stock but couldn' t find it. Asked me my info 3x when she just had it up on computer. Going to another city, somewhere, anywhere must be
more competent.

Always service with a smile They also take the time to help you make the best choices for your needs and don’t let you pick what isn’t going to work out for you they are honest and truthful, even if it’s not what you may want to hear lol!

Amazing experience from start to finish. Great people there helped me with my choices and options. Quick turn around to get my new glasses; when I picked them up, they ensured a great fit!

I broke my glasses late morning drove to Hakim on Landsdowne st in Peterborough Ontario. The service was amazing they explained to me that do you how bent my glasses were they could not guarantee that the frames would not break thankfully they didn’t and they were able to fix that pair. I had a second pair of glasses that I took just in the off chance they might be able to fix them as well. They did fix them and didn’t charge me for any of the work. I am very appreciative of them as I was not able to read anything and I was able to go to work for my afternoon shift. Thanks so much for all your help.

Normally the staff are wonderful, just this time the staff seemed in a rush.
I went into the store to get my glasses fixed and they were able to fix them, yay; but they aren't perfect- they are crooked. Initially I was very happy that they were able to fix them but their fix makes them uncomfortable to wear. Due to the fact that they were very rushed, they failed to notice that they didn't fit probably. It wasn't until I got home (2 hours away) when I noticed that they weren't fixed, (at least they are in one piece now). It is a good thing that I have other, older, pairs of glasses that I can wear. Hopefully, next time they will take notice of smaller details like alignment and comfort before ushering me through their door. Hopefully next time, I will receive my normal excellent service that I usually get.

I lost my glasses and my contacts kept scratching my eye. I didnt have a prescription so this made it difficult. During this difficult time most, eye exams were a 2 week wait and with being blind at thus point, I got in on the same day. Also had my glasses in leas then 1 week. I called 10 different places and just to get glasses (for my prescription) was minimum 2 weeks. So happy to be able to see and not have any eye issues!

Unfortunately the reviews of this place are accurate. I read them before going in but wanted to give the staff the benefit of the doubt before I visited. I only worked with one woman, she was a bit older and may have been management. First thing I noticed what she was not wearing a mask, nor did she have one near by to put on. Second when I asked what rules I should be following I was told, "the same as everywhere else. " Which was in itself an ignorant thing to say as every prescription Eyewear place has a different set of rules and requests for customers. Third I was told not to touch anything if I didn't plan on buying from them as I'd be creating more work that she didn't want to do, which is incredibly ironic considering you need to put on glasses to make a decision towards making a purchase.

Overall it was a bad experience and the woman who was addressing us needed a lot of work towards her customer service skills, I dont need her to bend over backwards for me, just some common sense would be appreciated.

Disgusting! No sanitation protocols put in anywhere. Most of the staff weren’t wearing masks, and nobody would give me 6ft of space! Let alone 2 ft! Never going back. This isn’t even safe.

Absolutely disgusted. Booked an eye exam. The glaucoma test was basically done by a school kid.was asked to pay the "doctor" cash
He seemed disinterested at best. I asked about the glaucoma to be told i didn't have it
I said i didn't understand as another doctor told me i did. He insisted i didn't have it gave me.a prescription. Was quoted $600 for glasses
The lady looked at the prescription and said they were for readers.
For $600?
Stay far far away. Sub standard exam, over priced and have jeapordised my eye health
