Came here for lunch with a colleague. The lunch special is well priced with ample selection. I had the Bombay chicken on steam rice and was quite delicious. My meal was interrupted when the bill was handed to me - hence the 4 star rating.
Worst branch of Hakka Legend if you want Indian Chinese. One should visit Oakville branch as they know what we are ordering. The staff here despite being Indian, will bring something else and you will repent when you open your take away box. Otherwise better to open the boxes once and check before paying.
Came here for lunch around 11: 45am on a weekday. Place was empty (early but they open at 11) but the service was good as a result. Tried their chicken manchurian lunch special which came with a soup and pop and it was good. The manchurian was a little more watery than I'm used to and the chicken pieces were a little small. However, the flavour was as you would expect, so no issues there. Overall it was good.
I ordered the chicken pakora and it was very uncooked and raw on the inside. And the employees admitted that it wasn’t cooked properly and refused to replace it. Also they have COCKROACHES in the washroom and sitting area. Would not recommend at all. Very unpleasant experience.
Our chicken pakora was not cooked on the inside. When we had approached the waitress, she had said it was not cooked properly but refused to take it off of our bill.
Horrible customer service and I recommend not coming here.
Must say the place is nice, atmosphere nice, food is excellent, but person taking order has no manners or customer service. First time visiting, and the person at the counter was impatient when I said it would browse the menu first. She did not seem happy at all. I will return but train staff in customer service. I had the Guyanese Fried Chicken on Fry Rice. Complement to the Chef.
Worst experience ever. We got hair in our soup and when we showed this to the lady server, her words were”this could be of anyone” in other words she was indirectly blaming us for that like it could be ours we just had our first sip and we got hair so that’s our hair according to the server. No apology nothing and showing attitude to customers. I have been here before but I never experienced this kind of bad behaviour. Why would a customer put hair for 5 dollar soup….
This is a quiet little place serving very tasty Hakka food. The helpings are generous and not too spicy. Servers could be more attentive and proactive.
I love the food at Hakka legend. The soup, Bombay paneer and veggie balls are amazing. Price and quantity is good too. Service is good too. The Erin Mills branch is not as busy as the east end branches. The only annoying part was the default gratuity. I may never go again as I felt like am being forced to do something although I generally tip.
Came on a weeknight when it wasn't too busy. I tried this place years back and then more recently, and I have to say they have fell from grace. I remember the food just being so much more tasty in earlier years. The portions were ok, service was alright too. Food was just medium-quality overall.
Ordered from uber eats. Food was delivered on time but everything was stale. Hakka noodles were average. Bombay paneer was bitter. Spring rolls were indelible.
I used to like this place. Food is good enough. Last time I went in, they told me I had to pay with debit. I didn't need to before. This time I ordered and they didn't give my hot and sour soup and the packaging of food container is considerably smaller. I was a semi-regular customer but now I have no reason to go back.
Ordered orange chicken and a couple different kind of chicken they replace some of the chicken with fish. We showed the servers and confirmed with them that it’s fish. The chef said it wasn’t. You can clearly tell fish from chicken. Instead of tricking people you should be honest.
Food doesn’t taste the same anymore. Asked for chilli chicken extra gravy but came dry. When asked about extra gravy they said this is with extra gravy. Had to show the waiter out dry plates so they could bring extra gravy. Not sure if we will come back again.
Beware: they add an automatic 15% gratuity on TOP of the HST tax (even just for a total of 2 people dining in). They do not tell you about this and then when you pay, they ask you for a tip AGAIN on the machine. If you don't inspect the receipt for their scummy moves, you will end up double tipping like me.
The food itself was soggy and subpar and the dine in service itself was terrible.
I would not recommend, the food was terrible and horrible customer service. There are many other Hakka places in the area that you should try over this, don’t waste your time.
