Update: The food and customer service has gone down expeditiously. This is not the same place it used to be
Great food and attentive service. Definitely recommend the chef specialities (bollywood Panner), crispy noodles with chilli chicken and house fried rice!
We really under estimated this place in terms of portion size.a plate can surely feed 2 or 3 people. Food is tasty Atmosphere is relaxing and cozy Service is amazing, staff is really sweet
Will surely be returning and making this a go to spot
Good food. There are enough options for vegetarians and non vegetarians here. Good quality and quantity of food servings, good service and I’ve received helpful food recommendations from staff.
Food was mediocre to be honest and they added gratuity and also regular tip option was enabled. Looks like they served us frozen dumplings. Was really bad. And furthermore not sure why to add another tip option when they are charging already as a default 15%
Hakka Legend is an absolute gem when it comes to dining experiences. The restaurant not only offers an extensive menu of mouthwatering Hakka dishes but also delivers exceptional service. Each dish bursts with authentic flavors, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it an ideal place for gatherings with friends and family. Hakka Legend truly stands out as a must-visit restaurant for anyone seeking delicious, memorable Hakka cuisine.
Food was okayish, noodles were not fully cooked and when addressed the issue the server was kind of rude and didn't replace the noodles, they just Canceled it and said all the noodles would be the same so order something else from that.
I had previously visited this location and the food was alright but their Manchurian soup was outstanding. It was so good I went back a month later and ordered just the soup for take out Unfortunately when I got home the soup was nothing like before. It had all the same ingredients but tasted like water. So disappointing. Now I don't know if this was an off day or that my previous visit was an aberration
In response to the owner indicating I may have taken too long to have the soup I had the soup 20 min after I picked it up. Also the first time I had the soup (dine in) I took home the leftover soup and had it the next day and it was still good
1st observation when I got my food. It was piping hot. I can't tell you how many times in other restaurants the food is warm at best. The food was fresh and temp hot. The food is incredibly tasty. Lunch special are $9. I can't wait to come back.
Update: I've been back numerous times. The food is consistently great.
Visited this location after many years. The food was delicious and piping hot. Loved the chilli chicken, chilli beef (dry) and fish pakoras. Plates were clean and overall resto was clean as well. Prompt service
Food was fresh. Tofu was good but would have preferred with a dry sauce rather than plain. Mango salad was good. Chilli paneer was not memorable. Rice was excellent.
This place is awesome. Best Hakka restaurant in Markham! The owner is very nice and friendly, and the staff are always great. We usually get pick up or delivery, but occasionally we do dine in. There are also of vegan options, and they allow customization to make it vegan.
Great spot for amazing and quick food at a good price. The staff and manager are very friendly. It’s become a regular lunch spot for me and my colleagues due to their great lunch specials and good customer service
We ordered the house special noodles. The noodles were undercooked. They used stale, freezer burned squid and the sauce was was just thickened soy sauce. The chilli beef was a disappointment.
The Mango chicken is full of carrots, orange peppers to give the look like mango. They need to add some sauce in it and real chicken not the left over deep fried chicken bits. I was disappointed with the quality.
I am writing this review while still sitting at the restaurant. I came to Hakka Legend in Markham with high expectations, only to be met with a deeply disappointing experience. The service I received was nothing short of unpleasant.
When I ordered the Manchurian balls, only to find them uncooked and entirely inedible. When I approached the server about the problem, I was taken aback by their defensive and rude response. He touched the fork I was eating with and used it to break open the manchurian ball to show us how it’s perfectly cooked - this is a major health concern. Rather than acknowledging the issue and working towards a solution, they insisted that the balls were indeed cooked and that I was mistaken. To make matters worse, the server who we found out was in fact the owner, arrogantly claimed that even if they were replaced, the outcome would be the same, and I would be charged for both orders.
This blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and the lack of professionalism in handling the situation left me greatly disappointed.
I would not recommend Hakka Legend in Markham to those seeking a pleasant dining experience.
Our meals always tastes amazing, service and mannerisms are great. This is one of our go to restaurants as the quality and quantity of the food is perfect.
