Hakka Ren

Upon calling this place to reserve a table, we were informed that it’s a first-come first-served sort of place. The staff are very accommodating in terms of explaining menu options or waiting to take your order after numerous tries.

In my opinion, however, the food could use some work. The shrimp pakora tasted really greasy and even though it was marked as spicy, it wasn’t spicy at all. On the other hand, the deep fried pepper calamari was very salty and hot in general.

The portions are very big for one person—as we were informed by the waitress—and can easily feed two to three people. We tried the Garlic tiger prawn and Shanghai noodle with beef. The latter looked very appetizing in the menu but wasn’t so much in reality. Again, this is my personal opinion, but I lost my appetite when I was served the noodles and the taste left much to be desired; there was a hint of sweetness but otherwise, it tasted pretty unremarkable.

And considering the amount of money that we paid for the entire meal—$100, which came as a real shock for me for two people—I don’t think I would visit this place again.

The food was really delicious, coming from the epitome of indo Chinese food, Calcutta, we felt it was very close to that taste.

One of the best Halal Chinese food joints in Mississauga! All their dishes are prepared fresh and both adults and kids loved their food.

Very Unprofessional Staff. If you want good customer service, please go somewhere else. I have been to a lot of restaurants but I haven't seen such a bad customer service.

Some dishes were incredible, and some were average. Our favorite was the honey garlic chicken for sure! The only problem with this place is that they are well understaffed unfortunately.

The food and quantity was delicious, tried their chicken fried rice, chilli chicken and hot and sour soup. Everything was delicious, only reason for the 4/5 is everytime I’ve tried to order their chicken wontons they are sold out.

Food quality is excellent but Management is extremely poor. They don’t how can manage customers. I am waiting for food 1hours. I am so surprised how come they run the restaurant. I am so unhappy

Chaotic place. Not a place for vegetarians. 5 broccolis in the rice and noodles. Only cabbage. One dish comes after 25 minutes.

Great food, always. The gravies are all pretty much alike but everything's always hot and yummy. Love the drums of heaven and HotnSour soup, will go back!

I ordered 2 chicken meals. They said the order would be ready in 25 minutes, I had to wait 40 minutes for my order. The lady at the front tried to ignore me and answered phone calls.she kept saying that my order will be in 5 minutes. Very unprofessional
The chicken tasted bad, had too much garlic in it. Based on taste of the food and customer service, I rate this restaurant 1 star

The place was very crowded, may be for that the service was little bit slow. The food was overall okay type.

Had to wait quite awhile for service once we were seated. Had ordered 5 dishes and 4 of which were gravy based, asked if we could have some steamed rice, was told that steamed rice only comes with take out and so they would not give it to me unless I paid extra which seemed a bit ridiculous seeing as I ordered 4 gravy dishes and spent $100 on my dinner. Surely, the cost of a small bowl of steamed rice would not have set them back more than. 30-. 50 cents.
Asked for a recommendation for the Noodle dish and was sadly not given the right guidance on what to order and was stuck with sweet tasting noodles. The plant based chilli chicken was very good but beware for the price $16.99 you will not get a large portion, very few pieces esp if you are sharing with someone else.

Hakka Ren has amazing momos and chicken lollipop. They have great service too. We had Sheryl as our server and she made sure we were very comfortable and had everything we needed. She checked in with us to

This place has the worst customer service around. They packed the wrong items from your order and then tell you to come back tp pick up the correct one and its a credit, where as its not a correct. Your customer already paid for it. They said "We dont care" if we gave you the wrong stuff. Pathetic.

The taste was terrible and the customer service is even worse and they make you pay even taxes on the tips which doesn’t happen in most places

Nice hakka food! The chilli chicken and szechwan rice was good. The Manchow soup and chicken lollipop were great. The noodles were okay, nothing special. Customer service can be better.

Disappointing service. Had to wait 40 minutes for four dishes. Not worth the wait for such a small amount of food. Not worth the drive or the rating.

I love their chiken pakora. Other items are tasty. I eat regularly. Their service is excellent.

Probably one of the best places for Hakka food. Great serving portions and reasonable prices. There is usually a line up and wait which is absolutely worth it.

Honestly one of the best hakka joints in the GTA. You won't be disappointed in the food or service. We had Chilli chicken, pakoras, hakka noodles and steamed momos and EVERYTHING was delicious. Our server Sheryl was wonderful. Very tentative with a great sense of humour. Highly recommend this place

I order Hakka veg chom When I brought it home it was no veggie or all or is it just brown noodles they charge $10.99 for just brown noodles I will never order again and I ordered hot and sour soup large it was a salt just water

This place has a very bad habit of not picking up their phone. Have happened to me more than dozen times. It is not hard guys to get an extra guy at work so he/she can pick up phone calls. Looks like the owner forgot that there is a thing called phone that can help get more business.

Don’t go to this place. Very bad service they take instructions but don’t follow.
Not worth money as well charge 12.50 for lunch special but give you very less portions.
Service really bad. There are lot more Hakka places in Missisauga.
These people are cheap don’t go.

My actual rating is 4.5. The ambience is good and so is the service. Overall the food is good among all the restaurants I have had in GTA. I will definitely be back if I am in Mississauga. We were group of 7. We ordered Manchow Soup, Chicken Pakoda, Chicken Lollypop, House special Hakka noodles, Schezuan Fried Rice and Chilli Chicken Dry. Full 5 stars to soup, appetizers and the fried rice. But 3.5 stars to noodles & chilli chilli chicken which we didn’t like much. One oddity is that they don’t provide the fried noodles with the Manchow Soup. We had to order it separately. Duh!

The food tasted disgusting and you start with a low price then they put fasely gratuity wirhijt asking you and even tax you on it! HORRIBLE!

I love this restaurant, best chinese food, Service was awesome, our server Cheryl was super nice and kind. Loved her service.

Ordered veg Schezwan rice and Manchurian. Manchurian tasted well but rice seemed to be half cooked or old. Would not order rice again as it was not fresh.

The food had no taste and is super bland. Their chilli chicken is fine but would no recommend to anyone. The fried rice had no vegetables too.

I had ordered the lollipop chicken among other dishes for takeout and picked up my order. Once I reached home I noticed that we were missing the lollipop chicken, so I called them and let them know that it would be too far for me to come back, so the employee on the phone told me they would put a credit under my name for the same dish that I could get when I ordered next time.

Fast forward to next time I go to place my order, the employee tells me that they do not have my credit on file and they cannot do anying about it, since she does not have the authority to do it. She said she would pass my phone # to the manager and that he /she would call me. No one ever called me. Never going back this place, they are scammers.

They used to have good foo. My favourite dish thats my go to was crispy beef. But the beef was not crispy at all, not even close.it was mushy, and when I got home 30 min later it was chewy and did not taste good. Was a waste of a trip and money. I live in Niagara and Wish I went somewhere else instead

Definitely the worst Hakka ‘Indian’ Chinese!

Local Politicians have been urging citizens to patronize local restaurants over New Years Eve, so we decided to order a take out lunch for 2 on NY day.

I ordered 2 dishes, a Hakka Chicken Chowmein and a Chicken with vegetables as an accompaniment.

I paid a little under $30.

The food was handed over in a 20 min wait which was okay.

My opinion as a seasoned hotelier by profession and as an apprentice who has worked for a Calcutta Chinese outlet in Vienna, Austria, is as follows:

1) Price charged is expensive in relation to portion sizes.
2) The Chowmein was a lot of noodles, little protein or chicken content and hardly any vegetables. It’s taste was bland; the Chicken was cut haphazardly, not uniformly. All in all a disaster, with just too much of rice flour noodles. We had to spike this with sauces available at home, to make it taste okay.
3) The Chicken with Veggies was the same type of delivery. The Chicken wasn’t professionally cut. The Vegetables as well weren’t cut in the Chinese style.
All in all, the way the food was served didn’t have that Chinese feel.
I will be surprised if the Production staff are real professionals. I also wondered about the state of affairs in the kitchen.

The point here is that restaurant operators also need to keep customers in focus in this period where take out or delivery is the only alternative. This restaurant seems more keen on purveying rubbish and lowering costs - to make money.

If you are in a mood for Hakka Chinese try other outlets.

I have decided to pick up normal authentic Chinese from Oceans’ Supermarket, hot food counters, much cheaper, fresher and better value, as the price is much lower and it’s a high turnover place.
So what If I have to spike it with some chilly sauce for that ‘taste from India’!

Better hire someone close to Canadian mindset not someone with third world mind set where they don’t know how to deal with customers and how to follow instructions

I wanted to give this place zero stars but I couldn’t. I was very disappointed with the food, along with my family. Easily the worst Hakka we’ve ever had. The veggie fried rice, steamed rice, honey garlic shrimp, chili chicken, and plant based chili chicken was all lacking in flavor. The shrimp, chicken, and plant based chicken all had a weird texture. After waiting awhile and being very hungry, we didn’t even want to finish the food. Don’t waste your money!

One of the Best Hakka Chinese restaurants in the GTA. Been going there since the first week they opened.
Hot and Sour soup to die for!
Chili paneer dry extra spicy, yummy.
King Pao Chicken gravy spicy another favorite.
Also try the Dry Schezuan Tiger Prawns, spicy, you'll want to keep eating them.

This spot is my favorite. I eat in a lot of restaurants but here I go the most. The team is very affectionate and the cooking they cook is so tasty. I never miss an opportunity to have a good dinner here. Highly recommended.

So far the staff have been kind and prompt with pick up orders over the phone. We really enjoyed the soups-hot & sour and crab corn soup. They hit the spot. However, the chicken pakoras were not the best at hakka standard, it had a kind of burnt oil taste to it. This also goes for the honey garlic chicken-it had the same burnt/oily taste to it. We will be trying more things from the menu, just not those same items due to the odd taste.

Best Chinese restaurant in GTA. We ordered hot and sour soup, Chicken pakoras as an apetizer, Hakka fried rice (shrimp), manchurian chicken. Everything was so delicious and freshly cooked. The staff is very efficient and friendly. Price is so economical and the quantity is a lot for the price. We ate to full and packed the rest with us that is enough for another entire meal for one time.
The only thing is that I wish it had been a bit spacious. However, we prebooked a table that's why didn't face any wait. Others have to wait in line to get a table. My advice: prebook a table on phone.
Plus is high speed free wi-fi.
Must go. Highly recommended.

Not a huge fan after several orders and more recently, it's gone down in quality of food and overall service. Not too much value.

Good food, great if you want to get your Hakka fix. Pretty comparable to Eddie's wok and chilli chicken house with half the crowd and noise

Hakka Ren is probably one of the better places to have Hakka-styled food in Mississauga. Their food feels a lot fresher than some of the other Hakka food restaurants in town. The staff are friendly and helpful, while the service was relatively quick. If you're craving for this type of food, Hakka Ren should be in your consideration.

Really nice staff, warm and cozy environment.would appreciate more appropriate music and less volume, but the food is worth it. Singapore noodles with beef are a favourite.

This restaurant has lots of vegetarian options. The portions are big and pricing of the menu items is economic.
The soups are delicious but a tad salty.
I don’t recommend having any of the meat dishes. My friends got food poisoned after having their beef dish.

Excellent tasting food, was really good portions. Pricing seems a bit High, but the portions are well size. Good service, friendly.

Went to Hakka Ren for the first time ever today on a friends recommendation. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced however Inak rating 3 stars as there was a hair found in my soup. The restaurant offered me ONLY a free can of pop fr this inconvenience which was truthfully very disgusting. Would recommend but still have a sour taste due to this experience.

The experience at this restaurant was truly incomparable to any other Hakka restaurant in the Toronto Area. Their service, unique taste and ambience left me completely satisfied. My waiter, Saad, was very helpful in terms of suggesting menu items and helping us out. Thanks for the great experience!

Worst place. They are so clever. They add $25 gratuity by own in the bill and without even asking they have that for themselves. I would never visit again. And recommend everyone if U visit make sure U check the details before paying.

I have been going to this place for a few months. Yesterday around 1 pm i went there for lunch and ordered chilli chicken. Around 4 pm I felt really sick and started vomiting. I am really disappointed in the quality of food and will not be going there again.

First visit on recommendation of some friends. We were seated quickly but it was very congested. Ordered Chicken Pakora as starter and it was a big disappointment. It tasted like ginger garlic paste than any chicken. Other dishes were also acceptable but not exceptional. In short like any other average Hakka restaurant

One of the top places to go to in Mississauga for good Chinese food. If you are dinning in on the weekend beware there will be a wait list. A good trick is to call in advance and put your name down on the wait list so by the time you are arrive you don’t have to wait. The food is really fresh. I recommend getting the chicken wonton soup. Unlike other places around town, the wonton soup isn’t water down boiled wontons but actually has a flavour. The chicken wontons however are slightly over cooked and would open up.

All in all however good flavour and fresh food.

Loved loved lovedd the food here! The pakoras were amazing and so was the vegetable hot and sour soup. Excellent Veg Manchurian. Great service. Its a little far from where I live but will definitely go here again.

Its one of the best hakka restaurants in mississauga. Their food is like Tangra Kolkata's specialty. We tried the seafood soup, it was really good. The fried bbd chicken was awesome. Garlic fish and house special fried was too good. Will definitely going again. Price and portion both are up to market.

Could’ve got a great review if we actually got to our table. We called twice in one day to confirm our reservation, when we drove in from out of time they told us to wait another 30 minutes since they only put us on a wait list when we got there.

The service has gone down.the servers server water glasses while holding glasses by the rim.they forget to bring the serving plate while getting your order and get them when one is almost done.the worst part. I ordered schezwan fried rice. / they serve them with “PEAS” and when I asked the server to check with the manager, we get a response the “manager can not anything about it”.

This place has gone in terms of quality. I used to recommend this place to all.unfortunately this was the last time I visited this place and I referred this place to anyone.this place is a NO NO!
