Fish was disgusting! Very very fishy and tasted off. Fries didn’t seem fresh either. We go to halibut house in shoppers world all the time and it’s great, but we were driving home and passed this location so we figured it’s a Franchise, how different could it be. Man, were we wrong! I’ve never ordered fish from anywhere and didn’t eat it in fear of getting sick, but that’s what happened today. We ordered haddock and chips to go. When we picked it up the place was empty (that should have been our sign to run) and When we got home we started eating the first bite tasted so bad I couldn’t even bring myself to swallow it. When I called the location to complain the man who answered the phone (who is also who we dealt with in person) wasn’t helpful, or remorseful at all. He said “no one has ever said the food tastes bad”.

In conclusion, I’ll never be back, and I would encourage you not to waste your money at this garbage location either.

This location has very bad customer service. I have tried this location twice, and both times, my experience was not good. The first time I ordered online for pick up. From the time I got there, it was problems. They did not want to give me the order with my online receipt that was provided from them; they wanted it printed. Then, I ordered 4 fish and chip meals for $70+ dollars with a side salad. I did not get my fries with my order, nor did I get any of the coleslaws that came with the meals. I called about the missing items, and no resolution was offered.

Fast forward to my latest experience on Sunday, July 9th, 2023. The staff on site was rude. I asked when the owner would be in and was told I don't know. They left 20 minutes ago. I said, "Would they be in tomorrow again? " The answer was I dont know. " I then asked for the name of the owner and was told I don't know. I was greeted with what do you want when I first came into the store. Customer service is lacking and non-existent here. I will not be supporting this brand or location again. I will not be recommending it either.

Went on very busy Good Friday they were doing their best but Waits were very long.the cod fish that I got was very good but the halibut and haddock were disappointing and dried out! Fries were decent. I think I would most likely give these guys a chance on a less busy day to give a more accurate account of their quality and service.

Very clean, staff was so attentive and ready to jump and service any need you have! Food was plentiful and very delicious!

On top of the food being excellent and the service was fantastic, the restrooms were extremely clean. Overall the experience was great.

Maan, this place was disappointing compared to the vp location. The sweet potato fries were not crispy like the vp location and the fish felt stale.

Calm enticing aesthetic, interior design was well maintained and in order; staff were very friendly and accommodating, but best of all, the food was fantastic. I wish I had all the time to visit here more.

Visited location on a Friday evening. The location was fairly empty. We ordered the seafood platter with haddock, shrimp, and scallop. We added on a Greek salad as well. The food was hot and fresh and was a large portion. The fish was pretty good, not too greasy. The service was good and I would come back again.

Food portions were small. A lot smaller than other franchises of Halibut house. Not enough value for the money.

My family and I really enjoyed the Haddock special they have Monday nights. $11 bucks! Don’t expect it to be a thick and “meaty” as you’d like. Given the cheap price, just expect a thin piece that tastes delicious and enjoy. I always find the oil really fresh at this location too, but best to dine in.

Went here for dinner there was a hair on the tarter sauce bottle advised the waitress she took the bottle and replaced it with another but when asked for recite she still charged us, unbelievable I would think finding a hair in your handling of food she would at least give us the food for free not even she still made us pay. Poor customer service and just gross to see that hair.

Love that they serve an all day breakfast until 2pm. Professional staff, well prepared meals. Best bacon burgers in Scarborough!

Cozy little breakfast place near our house, we ordered eggs scrambled with veggie and fish and chips. Loved the coffee. Fish not so much. Lovely spot for weekend morning

They used to give a huge piece of fish with a good portion of fries but since they raised the prices they’re portions are ridiculous. Not worth the price for fish& chips.

When I first came here back 3 years ago the 2 piece halibut and chips was $25 and the quality was amazing. Now the quality of fish is trash and soggy, and it’s $36. Definitely not worth it as the price is not worth the quality. The only positive thing about this place, is the servers 3 servers stood out their names are Taylor (amazing customer service and really well organized) Melissa (very friendly) and Cindy (kept checking up on us). The Servers are definitely a 5/5 everything else (food, etc.) is sub par 2/5

We were in the mood for Fish n Chips on Easter Sunday most places were closed but Halibut Fish n Chips were open. The Good - that the place was clean and empty. Placed an order for 2 Halibuts with Chips and Cod and chips. Waited for 15 mins for the order not an issue. Now the Bad - The appearance of the food was extremely OILY vs. Other places, I was like okay I can live with that. Upon eating the Fish nothing but OIL coming out of the food the fries were meh. Finally, when I asked the person for Tartar sauce he said “everything was in there” and of course I believed him. I arrived home and saw 6 vinegar, 6 ketchup and a WHOLE 1 packet of Tartar sauce. Like what am I going to do with ONE packet of Tartar sauce isn’t the the idea of eating Fish n' Chips about the Tartar sauce especially having 3 orders of Fish. I will definitely not be going back to this location. Take it from me always check your bag and ask them to lighten up with the oil and ensure you have Tarter Sauce!

This location is fantastic. Fast friendly service, great menu and the food is amazing! Lots to choose from whether dine in, take out or Uber eats. Try it if you havent and I assure you, you wont be disappointed.

Nice quiet place and food was good. Went there for breakfast. Would definitely go again to try more of seafood. Best place for introverts, better then Starbucks if you want to order food and be left alone. Definitely not a fast food. They took the time to put food on the table but I am not complaining cos it taste fresh and good.

Where do I start? Out of certain menu items. Over cooked, dry fish that almost tasted like chicken. Items packed awkwardly. Their solution to a issue is to give away more poor quality fried fish. Spent over $100 and had to throw out half of the order.

Very well organised and convenient restaurant. They serve large portions and for inexpensive prices. We loved the menu very much and the staff were very amiable and explanatory. I recommend this place.

We have been to this location numerous times and it was really good but today it was awful. The halibut was rubbery and fries tasted like day old fries. Will not be going to this location again.

Wastage of money. Will never order from here. Ordered for garden salad and Greek salad, received bunch of lettuces. Fries without salt pepper or any taste.

I am so disappointed. Did the franchise change owners? In the beginning the place had delicious crunchy batter and fish fell apart with soft fries. Now I won't go back. Woody hard fries with no salt with rubbery fish. No thanks!

Just had the Halibut and chips with a ceasar salad with a side order of garlic bread and cheese delivered through Uber Eats. The cost was just over $36 and that's with free delivery. It looks like the garlic bread was just a hot dog bun and the Halibut fish was a nice big piece but the batter taste bland. Lots of fries but again taste bland and dry. Good portions but a little pricey especially for the poor quality.

Found a fly under my chips! Then they were going to charge me really? Not a good way to get new customers.just saying.

I hope I came here on a bad day.but I have to say, these were the worst fish and chips that I have had in my life. And please consider that I'm closer to sixty than to fifty.
There was hardly any batter on the fish, and considering that the joy of fish and chips is the nice, crunchy crust, that was a total disappointment.
The fries were woody and bland. Thank heavens I ordered gravy, the fries needed the gravy to soften them up.
And what's with the sign that says "no coleslaw with take out orders"?

As I sit here, with indigestion, I will say that I won't be taking a chance on this place again.

(For the record, we ordered two Sunday specials, gravy and onion rings.)

Some people think that fish and chips is a simple and poor dish. I invite you to check this place, you'll change your mind

Visited on a non special day.there are a few promotions that HH has. We ordered the halibut and chips (2 halibut and chips). Portion size just more than enough for two people but it was a little pricey. Its worth while to visit with the promotion days and to use their coupons that are located in the circulars that get delivered to the home. It won't stop my visiting again.

After hearing their jingle on the radio for a few months I decided to finally give them a try.
This particular one seemed dated. Old furniture and the stench of and old mop or dirty watered rag used to clean the table. That alone almost made me walk out.
I stayed since I already ordered. The fish was nice. Batter was light and not overpowering.
Since they are a chain resto as I've seen 2 in Kingston Rd, I will give the other one a try.

I enjoyed the fish and chips. It is family friendly. Free parking. Very clean environment. Kid friendly. Affordable. Loved it.

Delicious fish, the batter is delicious; not wet with oil, not too thick very light. I had the halibut and greek salad. The sever I had was an absolute gem, and I will definitely be coing back.

Just been for a visit. Food was excellent. Friendly service from the waitress. Would definitely make another visit.

Came here for lunch, and food was good and not very expensive! Was talking to our waitress and she says they don’t treat the employees very well.but other than that I would totally recommend the place!

Emphatically not recommended. Some staff are great, like Taylor, but ambience is awful, food is never hot, and cooking is inconsistent.

Fish and Chips. Yes! Halibut was tasty. Not greasy. One of the best fish and chips I have ever had. It was just done right. Quality piece of halibut.

I have been to another location twice, and food was mediocre and service a tad slow. This location will be the one that gets all my business.

The employees are always very polite and professional when I go to this location, it is always very clean. Its a little on the pricey side but the food is delicious and you get big servings so it is worth it. Would definetly recommend and will be going back.

Fries are overcooked. Waitressing has been curiously replaced.twice. Good pricing but this restaurant shows you get what you pay for.

The Homemade french fries were burnt. I wouldn't serve them to my cat. Everything was dripping in oil. The food was absolutely disgusting.

I've been going to this restaurant since the day it opened I was the second customer in the restaurant very clean plate stuff as everybody says it felt like I was actually in my own home keep up the good work love your food

Great location, very clean, and great food. Staff is very attentive and not at all neglecting nor annoying. Huge portions, and great value for money. Fish is also not too oily, which is great. Need to come back on Wednesdays for the $1 fish taco deals.
