Halibut House Fish and Chips Kingston Ontario

The food was fresh and very delicious. Our server was quick and very good at looking after our needs.

We go to Halibut house regularly, as they have the best price to portion ratio in kingston. The food is also delicious.

They are super friendly and the place is usually really clean. The only problem they have is that every now and then, they have one waitress who does not write the order down and tries to remember it all. Then she messes stuff up or has to come back to clarify multiple times. Which can become frustrating, especially if you are hungry or hangry. Lol

Other than that, though, Halibut house is a great place to eat.

Ordered for and chips to pick up. Generous serving of fish, fries were fresh cut, delicious meal overall. Will certainly go back.

Went to The Halibut House in Kingston for the first time this morning. My wife and I had the 1 egg, 2 sausages, 2 toast and potato fries special and coffee. It was one of the best and cheapest breakfasts I’ve found in along time. It was $15.50 total not including a well deserved generous tip. We will definitely be back for breakfast and I’ll be bringing a lot of friends and family with me. I also can’t wait to be back to try the fish. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Thanks for a great meal and can’t wait to be back.

Good food, great prices and fast service. We had a nice quiet breakfast, the food was hot and fresh, tasted great and the server was really attentive.

Very disappointed. Overpriced. My son bought 2 piece halibut with fries. Charge over $40. I thought they must have thought he asked for 2 orders. He recieved 2 pieces of fish the size of your palm and a handful of fries.
Absolutely NOT worth the money.

The staff are so kind and the portions are incredible! We were so impressed with our breakfast meal and their pricing is unreal! So so impressed!

This place is greasy the food wasn't enjoyable wouldn't order this ever again I had haddock and chips greasy and undercooked wouldn't recommend

Had a pleasant dinner with my husband. It is one of my favourite places. The ladies working at the restaurant are very friendly and professional.

First time here this morning for breakfast. Restaurant was very clean and spacious. Staff was very friendly. Food came out fast and piping hot. I had the 2 eggs and ham breakfast. Ron 1 egg and ham breakfast, plus Coffee and Chocolate milk. So much food I couldn't eat it all. Price was amazing. Just over $21 for the two of us. Definitely we would go again. Next time we want to try the fish and chips.

High-quality fish, large portions of everything, always give you a dozen or more condiment packs with take-out. 10/10

Wonderful halibut and chips, I enjoyed the portion size and how fast it is served. This place is worth visiting.

We arrived 20 minutes before closing and fortunately they didn’t turn us away. The food was amazing, fish and chips just like they should be. We will definitely be back!

First time eating at this place and ordered 2 piece halibut with fries and calamari. It was amazing! For calamari it had more filling than the batter. We under estimated how big the serving was for the 2piece halibut, but it was very crispy, the batter was not too heavy. I dislike coleslaw but I really enjoyed their coleslaw paired with my fish and chips. Definitely coming back again

Sorry No pictures I dug right in before even thinking about taking a picture ;) I have ordered the Shrimp and Chips 3 times now and every single time the orders are perfection. Just the perfect amount of "crisp" to the shrimp, fresh and tasty with amazing batter. Fries are generous and perfectly cooked. One of my favorites in Kingston.

I tried your Haddock tonight. It's the first time I have tried your food. Best fish and chips I have ever had. I did find bones in my fish. It kind of scared me because had my two year old had a piece with bones it would not have been good. I suggest posting a warning with your kids meals about possible bones in the fish. Other than that it was excellent.

I'm not really a fish person, but I come here for the breakfast which is excellent. Presentation, portion size, flavour have all met to my standards and they do my eggs (except maybe one or two times) exactly the way I want. I can't even complain about the price. It's my regular spot for breakfast when I have time in the morning and hope you guys enjoy it the same as I do. Perfect breakfast for hangovers for me haha

I love the taste of fish, it wasn't too soggy or over cooked, the fries were amazing and the staff was super friendly. I'll definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to try out fish and chips in Kingston.

My firstime ordering from hh.a fish sandwich only.batter was crispy.fish moist and a bit bland but good.fries were the oldschool handcut thick ones.really good.a very large tasty sandwich.i did not specify fish type but it was haddock.i will go back definitely

Three of us had Halibut, hubby had shrimp and scallops.all were incredible!
Server Jarrod (Justin) was such a nice friendly young man and the young lady working with him was Very nice too.

Do not order from Halibut house terrible fifty dollars for two little greasy peices of fish and two tiny salads.
This was my first and last order.

Had haddock and sweet potato fries. Fish was the best fish I have ever had. Lightly battered and not at all greasy. Service was absolutely excellent. Restaurant was very clean and covid safety measures were in place Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

The fish was hard in multiple spots had to spit alot out in all of our pieces. You could tell the fish wasn't left in the basket for more then a second to drain properly as it was soaked in grease. For the price which was very high, wasnt worth it at all. We also had to put our food in the oven when it got here it was so cold but this is definitely Uber Eats drivers fault. Wont be ordering from here again.

We always enjoy having lunch or dinner at this amazing restaurant - visit 2-4 times a month. My husband says both the Halibut and the Haddock are excellent as are the the fries (I manage to grab a few too) and the coleslaw. Since I dislike all seafood, I order the chicken souvlaki which I can attest is very tasty along with the rice, tzatziki sauce and fresh salad with dressing. The portions are more than adequate - we always have something we bring home as we can't finish. So kudo's to the chef/cooks. The restaurant is always clean, the staff are always so welcoming, friendly and amazingly efficient. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
