Hamilton Farmers' Market

Oh my good, just move To Hamilton and I found this market. Wow! Local vegetables and fruits local.all products fresh and good and it is local.

We had so much fun checking out the Hamilton Farmer’s Market. I highly recommend a visit to Karlik Pastry, for delicious and very reasonably priced baked treats. Apple bear claws (a generously portioned danish/ streudel pastry) is only $2, and tastes very fresh. Rhubarb strawberry cake, also only $2 for a generous amount. Bring cash!

The Fritter Shop is another great find, with fresh, warm fritters in a variety of delicious flavours, like cherry cheesecake, lemon, brownie, and apple.

There’s a great little pet store with good quality dog toys at affordable prices, too.

And there’s a large Latin market in the lower level that sells delicious and large horchata.

In all, the Hamilton Farmer’s Market is a great experience, and a fun indoor place to browse as the weather gets colder. Park at 28 York St, and have your parking ticket validated at one of the vendors for one free hour of parking.

Lots of selection here, prices are a little high but not crazy expensive, I found it pretty crowded though and we were pushed repeatably by other patrons.

The Farmers' Market has a huge selection of fresh produce. Buttrums farm a great stop, Dilly's has a huge selection of products including fresh herbs, dry goods, local Kombucha. So many hot food vendors from noodles, to tacos to vegan eats at Bring Me More. Jepsen's is phenomenal for fresh meat. Ray is a full on butcher from start to finish, head to tail. Pastries, sweets, cheeses. VQA wine vendor. They even have a floral stop and a plant lady too. Great staple in Hamilton.

So many delicious shops to check out and connect with local folks. Brought a friend here for a pop up event and we browsed all the shops before settling on this tasty place.

I love the market! The vendors are wonderful and very welcoming; I love being able to support their businesses. Definitely worth a trip out to Hamilton for an out-of-towner like me!

You can find very fresh products and there is a special place where you can find Latin products (Latinfood) there you can eat or buy for take out. We bought quesabirrias I recommend them, there were delicious.

Best place to buy your groceries. The prices are way better than the grocery store. It's worth walking around and seeing what's on special from each vendor.

A treasure trove of food and products galore. Something for everyone here. Weather you visit for the food and staples for your home or visiting the merchants for some cool finds, this is Hamilton at its finest. Where else can you grab Meat Pies, Elenas treats, sage to cleanse your home and grab your household groceries all in one spot. A fantastic place to shop and Hamilton should advertise this hidden gem for all to explore.

Vendors are very traditional, nothing new or trendy. Produce is from the food terminal - not a farm. Very limited new and exciting products. This market really needs a revamp as it does not provide a very fulfilling shopping experience.

I love to buy our fresh food in this awesome place to cook on Saturdays. Not just because the high quality of all products, but also to collaborate with our local producers. Here I’m going to share my favorite products and the results! Enjoy a delicious meal is heaven!

Everything we got was incredible. The salmon Lox bagels we got from Joshy's were so fresh, and you can tell made with serious love. Cudos

Great bakes goods, meats, chesses and seafood and flowers/plants. The fruit and vegetables are ok quality. I wish they were open later then 4 pm. Great place to shop if your some who lives with mental illness or autism, its quite, has natural lighting and isn't over Crowded.

Sometimes you wanna get some bread and you don’t have any coins, well, that’s a pickle you figure, but no, you got a pal who works down yonder at ye olde brødmärket or something, and he’s able to get you that sweet fresh bread for nothing, and I’m talking like, no money down pal. They have empanadas here. They also have vegetables here. I got a grapefruit here once, easily the best I have ever had.

It's always nice to walk through the market. Not all stores open, the ones I needed were. Nice to see some of the restaurants open.and sad that there were so many empty ones. Wishing for better times be safe everyone

The renovations are finished so they are covid compliant yaaay right when you enter the market from york st there is De La Terre bakery on your left and you have not tried sour dough bread until you have tried one of their baked fresh daily loaves of bread. I highly recommend the honey butter sourdough it just melts in your mouth it's so good i recommend getting two loaves because they will not last long they are just that good. Another solid choice is is their potato and olive oil but they have a nice selection to choose from. One more great stall is on the bottom floor down the ramp straight than on your right you can't miss the big red sign Sam's meat and cheese a huge selection of great artisanal cheeses and cold cuts, they have a huge selection of everything meat and cheese related. I highly recommend their muffuletta sandwich's honestly one of the best sandwiches you will ever try there is seriously nothing that could be done to make this sandwich any more amazing. Before i forget i got lost in thinking about all their excellent products i'am getting hungry just thinking about it. The staff is truly amazing you're never rushed they always have great recommendations and friendly conversation. Overall the market is a great place your just in awe of all the great food surrounding you and mostly all grown locally. The taste and appearance of all the local produce is so incredible you'll ask yourself why you weren't always coming to the market but words can only convey so much i highly recommend trying it for yourself all in all it's just a fun outing for the whole family (added bonus you get one free hour parking at the parking tower across from the entrance just remember to get one of your receipts validated or stamped) You'll always have a fun time shopping at the market it'll be hard to go back to the usual grocery stores when you have to most of all explore, have fun, talk to the vendors and get to know where your food comes from and by whom, everyone is very positive and laid back so have FUN try new things Cheers John kopatch

This place is our only go to flower place. Flowers are amazing, last a long time and the prices are the best! The owners are always friendly and dona great job on wrapping and arranging.

Plenty of artisinal items to shop for from clothing to bath bombs! So much food you could ask for especially if you're looking for baked goods or cheese! Go give your love & support~

I'd give 5stars but there are less and less good real farmers stands left. I love buttrums. My favorite stand.

The Asian folks have some good produce and the Mexicans downstairs have good latin products. All very friendly and sometimes you can find good prices

Great selection of ingredients and meals all around the world! Unfortunately because of Covid most of them aren't open as usual. Only a few days in a week mostly at the weekends.

Fantastic selection of produce and meat. All very high quality. Tons of Ontario products.
Flowers teas etc as well

Great place, independent stores in a the marketplace-some local food. My favorite place is the Mexican restaurant. All of the food is good-coffee is some of the best.

I love the fresh produce, meats and cheeses as well as the ethnic foods! (Flying g'nosh is incredible)

The Farmer's Market is always my favorite place to show to friends from out of town. Great people and even better food! Nice place to start the day as you get a coffee, buy some groceries and grab a bite to eat from one of the many food stalls - all while supporting your local area. The majority of the vendors are no longer local farmers but plenty of variety to choose from at reasonable prices.

Great selection of local produce and the market is very accessible. I love to wander around looking at all the stalls and comparing prices and products. Lots of options for lunch.

It's a wonderful place to spend some time and buy some yummy stuff! Anyone with any taste will find something good there. Might be crowded sometimes and line ups but definitely worth the wait. People with disabilities and wheelchairs might find it easier to visit the market during times other than lunch hours (11: 00 am-2: 00 pm). I wish they were open more days during the week.

HUGE SCAM! I parked on the York st.corner parking lot with a huge black banner that offered 1hour free parking for Hamilton farmers market. The ticket person stated "you need to get the ticket stamped when you purchase something in order to get the hour free" so i went to Nations fresh food where the cashier said "you need to buy $30 worth in order to get the ticket stamped. " So I bought over $30 worth of items. Then I was directed to a staff member working in customer service who refused to stamp my parking ticket because my ticket was part of the York parking lot and not her parking lot so she directed me to the customer service that handles the York St.parking lot; I ran around like a chicken without a head trying to find this so-call customer service (that didn't exist) that handles that parking only to end up asking security because i was pressed with time by then. I showed security my parking ticket and she basically told me i needed to go back to the original customer service i talked to earlier. By this time, there was nothing i could do because there was nothing Hamilton farmers market could do due to the lack of communication and the incompetence of some staff. After the runaround, I ended up speaking to the ticket person in the York St.parking lot showed him all my receipts of my purchases and he said "we dont accept any purchases from that store so we cant validate your parking ticket. " So basically, they are very shady when it comes to their "1hour free" at the Hamilton farmers market so expect to pay $20 per hour even if you make purchases and/or stay at the market for under an hour.

I love the farmers market and the new addition of the mini restaurants downstairs the food is great. However I still find that it being closed for multiple days of the week and some of the hours inconvenient.

Picked up some great food for dinner, and enjoyed the busy atmosphere! Sam's Meat and Cheese were celebrating their anniversary.

Amazing selection and I love talking to the locals who know so much about their product. I recommend the market to everyone I know!

Love the variety of vendors and food options. Angela's is our favorite deli. Buttrum's has excellent local produce. So glad the market has been revitalized in the last few years! Try a Poké bowl! It's the best!

The cheese variety was insase! Have you ever heard of goat cheese Brie? Yes that was available there! There were samplers everywhere of cheese, ceakers meats, cakea, breads and fruits!

Parked there to go to Centre, large signs saying cheaper for visiting market. Didn't realise only if parking ticket stamped.

Thank farmers market for providing fresh food to the people. Great food court. Right next to library. Perfect for kids day.

Went to the flyin gnosh got a delicious channa masala, then went to esmerldas and got a custard tart heated up wiry cinnamon and followed up by going to relay coffee. Perfect day

A nice place for a browse. We found that prices are a bit high overall but you can find good deals. A good place to get bulk maple syrup. There are some nice eateries downstairs that look like they are worth trying out.

Always busy. Went to Angela's for some good quality sliced meat. Friendly service. Been going there for over 10 years. Better tasting then what the grocery stores sell.

Historic and offering a lot of culinary exploration, from stalls with prepared dishes like Pokeh, to stalls offering both local and an international selection of ingredients. You'd be pretty hard pressed to find tortilla presses, chicken's feet, and gluten free British baked goods elsewhere in the city.

I really like certain stalls in the farmers market. Others arent very good. Its a balance of good and bad. Good places outweigh the bad. Play close attention some stalls sell below average items. Some burnt or close to burnt items. Best date squares in hamilton are sold at this farmers market.
