I just had an intensely patronizing interaction with a young, femme-presenting Go Centre employee selling fares. It started with the person yelling at me from behind the plexiglass because I was about to use the wrong Presto kiosk to refill my card. I understand that it was necessary for her to raise her voice, since she was behind said plexiglass, and I appreciated the information, but I experienced her tone as unnecessarily aggressive. My experience of her aggression was validated when I apologized and said that I couldn't understand what she was saying (for context, she was talking through a speaker from across the room, and I have sensory processing disorder), and she asked in a condescending tone whether I was taking the train. When I said "no", she echoed my "no" back to me in an even more condescending tone. I recognize that we all have bad days at work, but I don't feel it's professional to project our emotions onto customers existing in our space.

This is a friendly reminder that not everyone is abled and neurotypical, and an invitation to pause and consider potential barriers for the customer before reacting. While I feel compassion for folks in public-facing jobs, their bad day is not my responsibility.

The GO Transit counter attendants were very helpful and friendly... Knowledgeable too:)

3 stars only because the washrooms never seem to be open, I find it ridiculous that after a long ride any time after or before at least 7 am or pm the restrooms are closed

The staff is very attentive, kind and helpful to the customer. Thank you very much to all of them.
