They recently changed their menu but the food is still as amazing as always! Hopefully they bring the bimbimbap back.

Very good, i just didn’t think 4.50$ to add cheese to my rice cakes made much sense but tough economy i guess

Definitely my favourite restaurant ever. Order the cheese dakgalbi! It’s the most amazing thing ever. Staff is super friendly and restaurant is overall just homey and cozy. Perfect for dates or even just going with friends!

I love their dakgalbi so much especially when you almost finish it you can make it into fried rice, which has incredible flavour! Other than that, they just need to improve their service. Sometimes it’s pretty hard to call the waitress cause they too focused with something else (like their phone or maybe there were online orders from there, who knows?)

Took me awhile to find a Toronto Place for dakgalbi. This one is exactly like I remember it in Korea. Get the cheese and make sure you add rice at the end!

SO DELICIOUS! Absolute best dalk galbi in toronto. Portions are huge too. It's so yummy, we scraped up all the sauce to take home as well (the sweet lady helped us pack it up).
Dumplings are delicious and crispy. Seafood pancake has such a yummy crispy batter. Excellent service as well, the young man and sweet lady were both so helpful and welcoming. Can't wait to come back:)

My favorite place for a light meal.
FOOD:
• Cheese Dakgalbi: super cheesy, quite spicy but not crazy spicy. It can't get me full if I order it alone but definitely a fun thing to try.
I recommend add some noodles/ rice into it get some side dish.

DRINK: I didn't feel like getting a drink that is more pricey than the main course.

VIBE: It's in the basement so might be a bit harder to find. The floor is not as clean as I expected it to be. And the washroom looks really dirty. The dakgalbi pan is quite old and beaten up.

SERVICE: All the servers tried to avoid my eye contact after the food is brought out. It's almost impossible to ask for something else because they seem to dissappear or pretend not looking at you.

As requested by a friend, I accompanied them for lunch at this restaurant and my experience we'll say was, about average.

It does look like a decent place, especially given the location underneath. The staff is also friendly, willing to accommodate, so any requests you shouldn't feel embarrassed by. Obviously like I said because of location, parking may be a bit tricky to find but it's manageable.

My concern comes with the food and the price that came with it. I'll give the benefit of the doubt and assume because of inflation the prices are what they are, but it definitely doesn't feel like it taste wise. The cold noodle set was appreciated but, even the fried rice felt average at best.

Overall, I'd say come here if you're looking for a very specific taste. The food is prepared nicely, both in looks and through, so you won't get sick.

Came here with some friends for a little get-together. Ordered two Dakgalbi (Cheese and Rosé sauce) with ramen. Plus fried rice with the crispy bits at the end. Everything was hot and fresh. Service was good. Preferred the Cheese Dakgalbi over the one with Rosé sauce as the latter was a bit too creamy and lacked the spiciness I'd like. But overall, it was an enjoyable experience.

We got the budae jjigae and the cheese dakgalbi to share between 5 people and the portions were huge and they were so filling! For this price point in the city, the value is pretty good. Would def come back for the budae jjigae, it’s the perfect comfort dish.

One of our favourite spots for Korean Dakgalbi in Toronto! Must get the one with cheese and add extra ramen and rice cakes.fantastic!

They are less busy during lunch time, even on the weekends! I find it is busier for the evening times but still worth it to go!

Cheese Dakgalbi ($16.99 per person) + Udon ($3) which comes with chicken, red pepper paste, rice cakes, veggies and mozzarella was pleasing and super filling. Great value for the amount of food you get! Not much options for side dishes given compared to other Korean restaurants but still yummy. Overall, great dining experience and delicious!

I've been to Hancook a handful of times each with different groups and we've always left full and satisfied! If you like cheese, spice, and chicken - give this place a try.

What we got:
- Rose Cheese Dakgalbi with ramen noodles
- Seafood Soondubu
- Hot Stone Bibimbap (not pictured)

My favs:
- You really can't go wrong with chicken, cheese, ramen, and rice cakes!
- Bibimbap came in a beautiful stone bowl

Final Thoughts:
I've had the original and the rose dakgalbi, couldn't really tell you the difference even though the rose costs a couple dollars more so I'd say just go with the original cheese. Nothing really ground breaking and the value for price is definitely not the best. Even when not busy it can also be a bit hard to get a server's attention. A good meal though overall and I'll continue to come back when the craving hits!

We ordered two rose tteokbokis, which is too much for us, but the server insisted that if we only ordered one, it would only be sufficient for one. As a result, we ordered two, even though we also ordered one more spicy tteokboki and bulgogi with rice. For the way it looks and the quality of the food, this location is rather pricey. Other Korean restaurants offer similar type of dish for less price.

Favourite Korean Restaurant in Toronto. Nobody has ever exceeded their Soon Tofu for me. Also loooove the prices and portions. Generous with sides as well. However as delicious as the cheese dakgalbi is, I have stopped buying it due to the fact that there is 10x the amount of vegetables as there is chicken and cheese making it not worth it's money.

When Joon's closed, I thought I'd never have dak galbi again. I even tried making it at home, but it just wasn't the same.
This place is in Joon's old location and it doesn't look like much has changed, just some renovations. You wouldn't think rice noodle cakes (tteok boki) and chicken and gochujang go with cheese, but it does and it's amazing. Even better if you let a bit of the cheese crisp up a bit on the pan. I wish it were a bit cheaper or service was a bit faster, but overall, this place is a good experience

The food here is decent, but the service is not great. Our server was really unfriendly and inattentive. The dakgalbi was good, but nothing mind-blowing. The seafood pancake could have been crispier.

The food was decent, but the service was non-existent.

I went while the restaurant wasn't very busy, but it took a few minutes before anyone greeted us or seated us. It was difficult flagging down the staff when we needed anything.

We ordered the seafood pajeon and the ddakgalbi. Both were okay, nothing special compared to a lot of the korean restaurants in the area. The corn side dish was really delicious, and the seafood pajeon had a generous amount of seafood.
