Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa - Toronto Leaside

I visited laird location for the first time after giving a birth to my son (4months) - my son is a heavy baby and I am a small mama so I've been struggling with back and shoulder pain for weeks: (I am so glad I went! My therapist was Joyce, she had really good firm touches (I love deep pressure) and told me which part of my body needed to be looked after more cuz of muscle tensions. She kept checking on me and adjusted her pressure based on my preferences /as needed. It was my first massage after an intense labour and delivery, my body still needs more session to go back to how it was before but I really enjoyed the session with Joyce and definitely going back again once I get a break time from being a mother:)

Oh and spa itself is very nice and relaxing. Staffs are very nice and welcoming. Stress free environment:)

* Edit: Now I am pregnant with my second child, 9 months! And I still go to HAnd and Stone Leaside location for the past few months for a pre natal massage. I've met 3 different female RMTs, they are ALL amazing! Especially Ms. Christine! Receptionists are very welcoming and lovely, service is amazing.plus i can walk to this location which makes it perfect. I just love it.

Was very excited for my first appointment at this sought after massage place in Leaside.
Booked an appointment for ‘Couples massage’ online two weeks in Advance and they called me a few days to the appointment saying they only have one person Available… no one called or emailed me prior to make adjustments that they didn’t have the people available for the service. Only solution was to have my partner and I go one after another on a different day than requested. This is not a couples massage. That is single bookings. Very disappointed with service. Sad I couldn’t experience the hot stone ‘couples massage” as requested and booked in advance.
Buyer beware when booking on website.

I cannot recommend Christine enough!
This is my third time seeing her within a month and a half and she has been WONDERFUL! She uses this incredible technique that gets to the core of the issue and she relives the pain. She is so kind, empathetic and really listens to the issues you are having with your body.
I am 4.5 months pregnant and she has been taking wonderful care of me.

I tried it, hard pass. I tried it, am going back to Glow, if you are in the neighborhood. Very disappointed in the lack of understanding to just having a relaxing massage. It was a waste of time, and I wish I had gone to my regular place. I wish the reviews reflected my experience. I wish it had gone better.

Was surprised to find out that my facial did not include extractions using a facial steamer, this is something I wish I knew this prior to reserving the service. I was told they still have scaled back services due to covid. Was disappointed to see the steamer sitting in the room not being used. For this reason I won't be back and will use a proper spa.

My niece and I went here for an introductory massage and we chose this location after reading all the reviews under all Toronto locations. We chose this location because it was simply the best choice. When we first arrived all staff greeted us and the customer service was impeccable. We had two male RMT’s and we both agreed that this was the best massage we’ve ever had. The reviews were accurate and this location has proven to be the best. My therapist, Fred, is the most amazing masseuse ever! He does deep tissue in the most pain-free way, and it's incredible! I walk in with all sorts of issues and come out a brand new woman. LOL The staff at this location are also very friendly and accommodating. I have been a member for about a year because of this.

Exceptional staff and service at the Leaside location. Be sure to ask for Janice when you go here. Shes amazing at her job and is great with working on different pressure points and adjusting the pressure of the massage while also making sure its a relaxing experience.

I tried Hand and Stone in Leaside for the first time b/c it is beside my daughter's Girl Guide program and the experience was wonderful. I received a relaxing message from Mr. Mohammadi. He was able to get all the knots out from sitting at a desk all day. He was very professional and very experienced. The place was clean, the appointment was on time and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend you try them too.

I've been here multiple times and it's always a great experience. The manager Tijana is incredible and truly cares about every customer. I recently had massages with Kazi and Martin and I always have something great to say about them and the Hand and Stone Staff.

Matt is one of the best massage therapists I’ve ever seen. He is professional and very knowledgeable. He has worked carefully to address the specific concerns that I’ve come in with, not just massaging in a traditional manner but also stretching and giving me exercises to do at home. I highly recommend him.

I was in this location for a massage and a facial. The services were great and no doubt i felt amazing. My massage was done by Rosaline and she was amazing, paid attention to the details and didnt seem like she was push selling anything, however the facial girl Amy, from get go, seemed a bit pretentious. I work in the sales field and u know when someone is genuinely helpful or someone is trying to influence u to get sth. I felt she was trying to make up things for me to add on some xtra services for facial, whicj was not a big deal, i bought the upgrade, it just seemed fake on how she approached for it, like, u have this this and that in ur skin, so i can do this that only for 20 extra … i would have done the xtra rather happily if she stopped saying ‘amazing a hundred thousand times, unnecessarily, and had more of a genuine conversation. The business place itself was good, might come back.

Second visit to this location, coming from North York. Staff friendly. Atmosphere very calming and relaxing as you enter into main reception. My neck and shoulders tend to bear all the tension of everyday life stressors. I have a very high threshold for pain. I had, without a doubt, the best RMT Ali. Even though I wanted him to work specifically on those areas, he advised and acknowledged that he will focus on those areas but will also work on surrounding locations to allow me to fully receive the full benefits of the massage and feel overall better. 80mins later I walked out of there feeling for the first time that the tension and weight was lifted from my neck and shoulders and I was floating on a cloud. It will be worth my drive to see Ali again to ensure maintenance.

I waited 20 minutes over my appointment time with no communication as to why. Not only that, if I got in at 5: 20 why is it that my 50 Minute massage ended before 6? I was in the lobby at 6: 05 waiting for my girlfriend who also got a 50 minute massage got in before me, and finished way after me?

This is the first spa I’ve ever been too and I’m definitely not happy with the outcome.

Amazing experience, was my first time getting massages. The masseur took time after the appointment to show my stretching technique to help me and my scoliosis.

The spa is clean and comfortable. I got a hot stone massage and I cannot wait to try the other services. Attendants were corteous, professional and thorough. I would go back and definately recommend this spa.

I have been visiting Hand and Stone Leaside for a few years now, mostly for massage. There is a wide variety of services as well as depth in the services offered. Whether is a relaxing massage or a need for deep tissue, it has been a wonderful experience and I satisfied each time. It is always important to let the team know what you are looking for, as they have an excellent overview of their services. A must go to, for me!

Disappointing massage and disappointing check out experience. I was upset that my therapist wore gloves during the massage and I wasn’t told beforehand. It completely took away from the relaxation component and made it subpar. I work in the spa industry in Toronto and been to plenty of spas to know that before getting a massage, if a therapist is planning on wearing gloves the guest must be disclosed of that as well as the reason as to why they will be wearing gloves. I was not told anything. I understand it may have been for health reasons but I would have appreciated being told beforehand so I could choose a different therapist. I mentioned it at check out but did not get a response towards it. In addition to this front desk staff told me I couldn’t use wayspa towards gratuity, and then another associate later told me I can. Then I wanted the insurance receipt and one staff member said I cannot get the receipt and said he even confirmed with management that I couldn’t get it, I then mentioned I’ve been to other hand and stone locations and they always issue the receipt when paying with wayspa as I am the purchaser and it was not a gift. I even told him I called in a few days prior to confirm I can get a receipt when paying with wayspa, and I was told yes over the phone. However in person I was still told no as that’s what management said. Then another colleague walked by and said they can issue it. Overall the staff were nice but I didn’t appreciate being told different things as it made my visit less seamless/relaxing. Will not be returning due to this.

First time getting a massage and from as soon as you step in, everyone is very helpful and Covid safe. Hand sanitizer dispensers around the office. Very clean and calming atmosphere. Had a massage by Matt who was fantastic, making sure that I was getting the massage I needed. Totally recommend, this is my new spot for massages. Thank you to all the staff there also.

I have been going to the Leaside Hand & Stone location for over four years and the service and staff is wonderful. I have alot of knots so I get a deep massage and my masseuse Matt is the best. Due to COVID-19 the business has taken all procautions and I'm at ease to go for my massages and feel safe.

They are very committed to safety and I felt completely at ease during my massage. I am very conscientious during Covid and I was not worried at all. Matt as always helps fix whatever issues I am having. I would highly recommend this location.

I’m impressed beyond belief. I went in today almost in tears from pain in my neck and back. My right hand was actually going numb while I was filling out the medical intake form.

I explained my situation to my Therapist, Queenie, and she went to work. It wasn’t exactly the relaxing massage I wanted, but it turned out to be just the therapeutic treatment I needed.
As I type this I have zero pain. I don’t know what she did, and it was lucky timing that I booked in for this day, but Queenie saved my weekend! As someone who deals with Fibromyalgia, and chronic pain this means an awful lot to me.

I will definitely be back and am considering becoming a member.

I had a facial with Irene at Hand and Stone in Leaside. Irene is extremely knowledgeable in her work and made my face feel so
renewed when I left. I will definitely go back to Irene for another facial.

Hand and Stone on Laird Drive has a calming, pleasant atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door. The front staff immediately look after you.letting you know you will be served soon, offering water, fielding questions.
The RMTs continue to keep that relaxing atmosphere alive. All have different techniques but each excellent in their own way. They always assess your needs before beginning treatment.
I highly recommend Hand and Stone if you need to work out the kinks.or simply need to relax and rejuvenate!

Raymond is the Knot and Tension Doctor! He is unorthodox, and finds pressure points in your arms/hands that are related to your neck, back, hips etc. The staff are friendly, the aesthetics of Hand &Stone Massage Facial Spa are clean and relaxing.

I cannot actually comment on the treatment given since I was refused one by the RMT I was supposed to be seen by. However I can comment on the professionalism of the staff at this location. I have been getting massages over 25 years of my life and have never encountered anything like this. Over just a week ago I had a massage scheduled with a male therapist at this location; my first visit. I explained to the RMT, that I needed attention and focus soley on my upper back, right shoulder, neck and arms. And not to massage anything below my mid back, especially my lower back as I had an injury in the past and my chiropractor deals with that area. He said "Good", then he handed me the CMTO form (consent form for sensitive areas) to sign where he circled "Buttocks" and "Chest Wall"; meaning I am giving him permission to massage those areas. I have repeated that I came in for my right shoulder and upper back and not sure why I am being asked to sign the "Buttocks" area when I am asking him to stay away from my lower back. He gave an explanation that some connective tissues go futher than we think, pointing to his mid back. I asked again as I did not see the relevance between the area of the body I asked him to focus on and the one he was asking me to give him a permission to massage. He was getting agitated by my questioning, the validity of his request. In the end he said that if he drapes me and accidentally touches my behind I will go and accuse him of sexual harassment. At this point I have asked to leave the room and go talk to a receptionist about this. He would not even let me express what I needed to say to the receptionist, until I told him to let me speak. To make things even more interesting, he would not show the form that he asked me to sign, instead grabbed a new one to show the receptionists the areas he asked me to sign, stating that the form he asked me to sign was his and private? Then he said he was done with me and walked away. On the CMTO form it explicitly states that "The RMT has explained the nature of the treatment and that the nature of the treatment is clear to the client and that a client has requested the treatment for those signed areas! " Not only was I never explained anything, and my questions were annoying to him, but I never even requested the treatment of those areas that he aaked me to sign. NONE of this was done at the time, I was just handed the form and asked to sign it with no explanation, with no consideration to my safety and protection. I have spoken to the manager of this location shortly after the incident. I was told that I will get a full picture as to why this has happened. I am still waiting to hear as to why this occured.

I had a terrible experience at this facility. I've had many massages, but this one left me with vertigo and nausea, literally. The massage therapist was extremely rough and I had to ask her very many times to stop or ease up on the pressure. She spent 15minutes of the 50 minute massage on my neck, and that is what caused the vertigo and nausea. I honestly thought I was having a stroke from the extreme neck manipulation. I have a medical background-she essentially over stimulated my carotid bulb-which drops your blood pressure and lowers your heart rate. This was despite me asking her to please decrease pressure.

Booked a couple message. When we reached, we found out that they cancelled our appointment without informing us. Not going there again.

I went in for a couples massage and the women who massaged me was great and made me feel comfortable, time felt very quick tho and started 5 minutes late.
For the price you pay I feel the service could be a bit better.

Amazing massage by Kazi. He actually listened to me and only concentrated on my back, which causes me the most problems.

My only issue is that they require a credit card when booking an appointment, which I find pointless. If a person doesn't show up for the booked appointment, then ask for the credit card when they try to book again. Does this place get a lot of prank calls or something?
