My husband and I got a quotation done by Handyco and so did family of ours. We were recommended by friends of ours who we're previous clients that went through a full Renovation with this company. We were told specifically to ask for Jenna and that she would be our project manager. We were surprised to meet Michel and even more surprised to hear no mention of Jenna. I asked Michel if she was still with the company and he said yes but quickly changed the subject. Shortly there after, it was clear as to why the previous clients told us to work with Jenna. Michel was arrogant, rude and clearly full of balogna as his answers to our questions were full of incorrect information and very apparent that he doesn't know what he's talking about. He will talk about himself and being on tv a weird number of times and make you feel uncomfortable. We called our friends the following day and also spoke with our family members once they had met with Michel for their quotation. Michel gave all of us the same performance and we saw right through it. Our friends were very transparent with us regarding their experience with Handyco after that. Michel will put on the performance of his lifetime to secure a job with you, he will lie about timelines and take 70% of your money and poof! Vanish! Your job will drag out and he will use every excuse there is. All future interactions with him will be miserable and like them you'll instantly regret your decision. He will dismiss your preferences in materials and design, he will speak to you like you're an idiot and he belittles his employees all while he cuts corners. Jenna will make the experience as positive as she possibly can for you and the employees are wonderful people. They were the only reasons our friends made it through the nightmare! The work is sub par at best in relation to their prices. Needless to say, none of us will be moving forward. Listen to your gut, read the other reviews and stay clear of Michel.

This summer we had HandyCo replace the siding on our house, as well as addressing mold in a wall. Excellent communication with the team, and was very happy with the work. The work done inside the house was beautifully contained, with little dirt escaping the tarped section. Would highly recommend.

We had a follow up project with them to redo our bathroom. The project experienced challenges. The primary issues were the failure to properly slope the shower pan, resulting in it cracking As well as a lack of containment when sanding drywall in the kitchen; resulting in drywall dust getting into all the cabinets dirtying all our glassware and dinnerware.

Handyco does not hold itself accountable to what its employees communicate with their customers. They jacked the price on us for a small job by 300%. They even admitted that the original quote was a mistake and turned it into “too bad, too sad, pay up”. Own what you say to your customers. But in the end, who pays for their mistake? The customer. That is Handyco. There has been no response to my last email 8 days ago where I went as far as to propose that we meet in the middle between what they claim I owe and what amount I was given on the invoice so that the brunt of their mistake is not on the customer. If you don’t want any surprises and are looking to work with a company that prides itself in holding itself accountable and cares about their customer, you will not find it with Handyco. Look elsewhere.

Handyco installers built my deck with excellent quality material and their total cost was of great value. The company employs licensed tradesman with considerable experience. Their staff (Bob and Brendan), during the installation process, shared ideas on improvements to my original ideas.

Handyco staff were professional in every way. The final product, a new stairs and deck, is attractive and is a nice addition to my townhome. When they completed the job, Handyco cleaned up the work site and took the waste material away for disposal.

After they left, I immediately paid the final installment, and contacted the Handyco manager and asked her to prepare an estimate for constructing a very nice roof over the deck for next April. Bob, the carpenter, shared some excellent ideas for this next project. It is real nice to find a company like this that you can trust. I am looking forward to next year.

I contacted Handyco about changing my range hood. I was really surprised to get an answer within the hour, especially in the evening. Michel came to my place the next day. He’s very nice and professional. Everything was done in less than an hour. Excellent service! I recommend!

Set up an appointment and nobody showed up at the scheduled time. No call or email about it and nobody is responding to my email. Can't recommend this kind of company.

We just moved into a new home and discovered that our second story bathtub was leaking into our dining room below. Michel was able to come quickly, identify the problem and has lined up the necessary trades to fix the problem. He is calm, knowledgeable and friendly and we are grateful that he will help us resolve the issue.

Great staff well knowledge. Very friendly and reliable to get the job done. I would recommend this company to any who is looking for to get work done.

I have now completed my second project with HandyCo. An exceptional and professional company who have provided me with quality work that has met or exceeded my expectations. Michel and his crew are so easy to work with and go out of their way to make the customer happy. I would highly recommend HandyCo to anyone. Time for my third project with them!

I was stuck trying to find a contractor to finish my kitchen Reno. I emailed at least a dozen companies without a response. Emailed Handyco after seeing their tv ad. Michel was here the next day to evaluate the situation, and was back the following day to finish the job.
I was happy with my experience so I hired them to do more work!

Bought my coffee in the drive through for no reason. Whoever that was thanks alot! Good people working here.

HandyCo is currently renovating my basement. Every person I've had the pleasure of working with at this business has been absolutely amazing. Michel, Mario, Chantal, Lilli, Bob, Chris. They've all gone above and beyond to make this project perfect. They've been very patient and responsive to our needs as a family. We are so thankful we chose to work with HandyCo, and I have no doubt that the final product will be everything we wanted.

I was introduced to Michel and HandyCo through my job as a teacher. They are a huge support to my school and are amazing at giving back to the community. Michel has spoken to our students and continues to go out of his way to set up opportunities for them.

For all these reasons, I will never use another company for my needs. Already thinking about my next project:)

Our work flooded and we had to call Handyco for mold remediation.

They were prompt, and did a great job. Ripped out all the walls that were affected and brought in a bunch of dryers to speed up the process

The quality of work rendered by Bob was amazing, he knows his stuff and went extra mile to get everything perfectly done. The assessment done by Michelle was top notch, meeting him the first time made us feel welcome and he simplified the workload. For the administrative team, Chantal was simply amazing. You guys have a great team, we are definitely recommending you to friends and families.

Handyco Ottawa came in and saved me from a bad experience I have had with a previous contractor where they over charged me for sub par services. Handyco Ottawa had to redo the whole project but I am sure it is done right and am extremely happy with the work they have done for me. Michel and his Team helped me to renovate my kitchen and remove a wall to open up the kitchen, they were very tidy and have done some amazing work for us.we will definitely use them again when we do the bathroom reno.

Handyco replaced the floor in my basement hallway and landing after a water leak. They did the remediation of the mold, replaced drywall and baseboards, painted and cleaned up after. It was not cheap but a job well done. Thanks to Michel and his team of professionals.

So I just hired this company to gut and redo 2 full bathrooms in the Fall. In the beginning they were fantastic, Michel went above and beyond to come out with my and pick materials. Once I signed on with them for this job is where it went downhill. Their admin office is terrible, communication took forever and when they did answer it was not the info I was looking for. I had to send all the items that I chose for the bathrooms half a dozen times as they couldn't open them but this was going on with weeks in between emails. Finally the job starts and the items get delivered. Right off the bat I have another issue, the bathtubs were not the ones I ordered, the shower doors were not the ones I ordered, etc.at least they just went back and exchanged but had I not been home that would have been a lot harder. There was never or not that I saw an itemized list of what materials were ordered or verified with me first nor last. When I was trying to get this all sorted out I kept being told to talk to the sub contractors to fix it instead of coming from the admin office or the boss Michel, I found this very frustrating. Thank god the sub contractors were easy to get along with and wanted everything to be perfect because had they not been I would have had to find another company to do the job. When the contractors were about 90% complete they were taken from our house and sent to another site so other people came back to fix some issues we were having with the floor and to do the finishing touches (caulking, painting, etc.), for both people I ended up having to get the sub contractors to come back to fix what they had done because the tiles that were redone were not level, the caulking used around the molding was not paintable caulking and then they painted over it so of course it went all funny and clumpy, there was not enough coats of paint done so the initial color could be seen through it, and on and on. I am happy with the job (after a whole lot of follow ups and redos), and with the subcontractors as they were amazing people but as for hiring the company again, that will never happen nor would I recommend them.

We just got a new shop and had Handyco Ottawa come and doo the floors walls and lighting. I am thrilled with how everything turned out.even my customers are astonished by there work, such a wow factor!
