Our movers contracted Hansens to move our car from Burlington to Calgary. We handed over a working car which they promptly broke and refused to take responsibility. Communication was a nightmare, just an onslaught of emails denying responsibility and deflecting blame. Apparently they would have us believe that the car just happened to stop working while in their care for one day. Car was transported to VW who said the hybrid battery is fried and “somehow” the cap was off the battery so obviously someone was messing around under the hood. Amazing that you can take someone’s working car, break it, and refuse to accept any responsibility or pay a cent toward the 5000$ repair. Stay away.
Edit: They are lying about the damage being pre-existing, NOWHERE in the report from VW does it say that. So on top of being irresponsible and incompetent, they are liars.

Picked up June 2nd near Windsor Ontario. Arrived in Vancouver June 14th. Be advised it can take much longer. Car appears to be in great condition other than being dirty from the travel. Great price.

Used their services for my corporate move from Edmonton to the GTA.
Vehicle and key were damaged, with no luck getting claims back.
They will try to make it sound like you are trying to scam them when damages are brought up.
Extremely dissatisfied with the services and would not recommend their services.

Overall I was satisfied with the way Hansen's handled the shipping of my new truck. The price was reasonable. I had a cheaper quote from a broker but the vehicle was just sitting there, waiting for someone to take the load. Hansen's had my vehicle picked up within 3 business days of placing my order with them. That was two days later than what I was told originally, but still pretty quick and the vehicle was delivered right to my house, ahead of the due date. Took 3 weeks to move 1600 km. If I need to ship a vehicle in the future, I will consider Hansen's again.

Excellent service and wonderful experience served by Shelly B.for my first time shipping car across the country from Vancouver to Mississauga! Car arrived one week earlier than expected, and in good condition. Customer reps were responsive and accommodating to requests, super great to deal with!

Paul the national manager is useless and hasn’t been helpful. Can’t believe these guys have been in business for 40 years. They are unprofessional, arrogant and not helpful at all in their approach. Best to avoid them and save yourself hassle afterwards.

I shipped my car from Ottawa to Calgary and the entire process was completely stress-free. Thanks especially to Minnie for her great service. I'd definitely recommend Hansen's

Hansen's recently shipped my little red car across country from Vancouver to Ottawa. Minnie and the team were polite and responsive - a pleasure to deal with. Car arrived safe and sound, no scratches or damage. Highly recommend dealing with Hansen's for car transportation needs.

I've had my vehicle shipped from Ontario to Alberta. Overall, it was great, although there would have been a huge inconvenience that they would have caused me, but they fixed it in the end. To be specific, they said they were not going to be able to deliver the vehicle at my requested location and that I should meet and pick it up from a meeting point that is 5 minutes drive away from my place because the road is too narrow for the truck. But they changed it, and delivered the vehicle to the location. This would have been a 3-4 star rating. I can't go lower than 3 because it was a great experience when I dropped my vehicle off of Ontario.

I've shipped my SUV from Toronto to Calgary and it went very smooth. I've ordered a Terminal-to-Terminal option (they are shipping cars by train mostly.)

In fact, it was about 7 days ahead of ETA. This allowed me to cancel my rental car and save ~$700:)

Big shout out to Minnie! She helped me a lot with the process and she answered my 101 questions:)

The process was:
- get a quote
- accept it and get a firm order
- pay upon dropping off the vehicle
- have a full inspection of the car with an inspector.
- sign the papers including waiver for transport of winter tires. In addition to winter tires, I also had a car seat.
- drop the keys off and that's it.

They have a tracking system and I was able to track the car through Ontario, Winnipeg, SK and AB. Very nice feature!

The pick up was quick and efficient. There was no damage on the car. I am very happy with the service I've gotten and would really recommend this company to anyone shipping their cars.

The price is competitive as I've done a bit of a research prior to going with Hansen's.

Being able to ship winter tires allowed me to save space and money by not including them in a Ubox that I've used to ship my stuff.

One thing that I would recommend to the company is to ADVERTISE on their page that one could ship winter tires free of charge (assuming the inherent risks, of course). Their page does NOT mention winter tires at all (it mentions car seats, jack and spare tire and stuff, but not the winter tires specifically). Shipping winter tires is a huge bonus.

Make sure you secure your winter tires very well - I did by using a high-quality straps bought from Uhaul (do NOT buy cheap stuff from Dollarama for this). Spend $20-$30 on good straps and it will pay off plus you'll have them for your later needs.

This was my first time shipping a vehicle from Vancouver to Toronto and it was a positive experience with Hansen’s! The customer service rep, Debbie was dependable, insightful, patient and supportive as she walked me through the vehicle shipping process and kept a close eye on the shipment for me while providing frequent updates. My vehicle was delivered in Toronto within the 10-14 day timeframe without a scratch or issue. I’d definitely recommend Hansen’s as they’re cooperative, diligent, pleasant and professional to work with.

Had my car shipped from Toronto to Vancouver in April 2022. Brought it on a Thursday. They said that it probably won’t make it on the train departing Friday. (I booked the non expedited option since I wasn’t in a rush)
Tracked my vehicle on their website on Monday and it was already passed Thunder Bay! I guess they found room on a departing truck instead. Showed up early in good condition. Service and communication on both ends was great and simple.

DO NOT hire this company. They damaged my Porsche in transit and refuse to cover repairs. Not only did they provide NO documentation upon delivery, but they later forged my signature on delivery documentation. They also forged signature for the origin inspection.

Then Hansen's team was very professional and I was able to pick up my vehicle on time in Calgary. Thanks!

I purchased a vehicle and had it shipped from Ontario to Nova Scotia.

Pros: Initial communication with the local office in NS was good, and I received the vehicle quickly (within 10 days of purchase). Arranging the pickup was easy. Tracking information was provided and was accurate.

Cons: When I picked up the vehicle it was very dirty, with several areas of dark grease on one side of the car. There was no observable damage to the car, and I confirmed the grease would wipe off. BEWARE THIS COMPANY'S POLICY ON DAMAGE CLAIMS. They will tell you that you have 48 hours to report any damage on your vehicle that you wish to file a claim for, but what they actually mean is that you have 48 hours to tell them you want to claim. If you don't explicitly note the damage when you pick up your vehicle (even if it's not visible due to the dirty condition of the vehicle), then the damage is not covered by their policy, no exceptions. I confirmed several times that I had 48 hours to note the damage before driving off. I went to get the vehicle cleaned, and immediately discovered some scratches under the grease. Went through the claims process, and was informed my claim would not be investigated. Follow-up communications (phone and email) with the Claims Department were ignored for six weeks until I was informed that I did not conform to their 48 hour policy described above.

One email exchange from their Claims Department was particularly aggressive, which included a picture of the damage I provided from my claim, saying "if these damages were there, you will not miss it", as if I had scratched the car myself and was trying to commit fraud. Can't recommend any company that treats its customers like this.

To be clear, I have no idea if Hansen's actually damaged the vehicle in transit, or if the damage existed before shipment, but the fact that they would not even consider or investigate my claim is unprofessional and unacceptable. They provided me bad faith misinformation on the claims process, even though I asked to clarify this policy on several occasions before taking the vehicle to be cleaned.

Overall, your experience may vary depending on which office you deal with, but just be prepared to go over your vehicle with a fine-tooth comb before taking the keys, and note every single imperfection on the vehicle and sort the rest later, otherwise you may be on the hook for any damage.

Shipped car in 2020 to Florida and they were great. In 2021 made a reservation to ship truck and when the border opened we cancelled the reservation and they would not return our $300 deposit. We apparently were two days late but we believed we could cancel and get our money returned.
Apparently they had a policy change to rip off good customers.

We shipped our car from Toronto to Vancouver and the front seat adjustment was broken after the shipment. They told us to take the car to Honda mechanics and THEY SAID THEY WILL COVER THE COST AFTER US SENDING EMAIL TO THEIR CLAIM DEPARTMENT. I emailed them and they said they will cover the cost yes, However, we took the car to Honda mechanics and the inspection costed around 150-200 cad and NOBODY RESPONDED ME BACK eventhough I emailed 10 times maybe. It was the worst customer experience I have ever had. They took your money in advance and they do not take any responsibility. Good job guys. Keep going.

I used these folks to ship my classic car from BC to Ontario and they did a great job. Arrived in perfect condition, and even though it’s a pain to start and quite unusual, they had no issues. I’d definitely use them again.

Transported my Honda Crosstour from Vancouver to Toronto end of October 2020. Did a lot of research and chose Hansen. Best price, good communication with office, pick up and delivery to my door was as planned. Would highly recommend their services. Good people to work with.

Was recommended Hansen by Lexus of Calgary to ship my car from Alberta to Ontario.

Car came in on time and was in very good condition.

Would definitely recommend.

Shipped my Jeep cherokee from Toronto to Vancouver, and then after a year back to Toronto, both times with Hansen.
They did what they promise to do, car was picked up by driver and loaded into a truck. I was always able to pick the car from their lot in Vancouver/Toronto. No damages to car, communication was prompt, they run a good business, I will certainly recommend them.
Also great value for money compared to all other options out there.

DO NOT USE THIS FRAUDULENT, NEGLIGENT COMPANY. I moved from Alberta to Ontario in the fall of 2020 & I hired this company to transport my Mercedes. I was told the transit time would be approximately 4 - 5 days.

The gentleman who came to inspect my vehicle for damage before it was taken away had noted the vehicle in perfect condition (as it should be since it was practically new with just over 20,000 km). The vehicle had brand new winter tires installed just a few weeks prior, & those tires were purchased from & installed by Mercedes. I paid $2400.00 for those tires, so they weren’t cheap. The summer tires were in the trunk, which I was allowed to include with the transit.

TEN days after my vehicle was picked up, I still hadn’t heard from Hansen’s regarding the status of my vehicle delivery. I had received all 10,000 lbs of my furniture from the movers in just three days, unpacked everything & settled into my new place, & my vehicle was missing in action.

I contacted Hansen’s to inquire on the whereabouts of my vehicle & they couldn’t find the status, not with my postal code or even with the shipment ID number that I provided to them straight from their own paperwork. Two days after being told that they’d need to locate my information & call me back, I had to call them yet again to find out what the heck was happening with my vehicle. Even the moving company, who followed up with me several days after my move was complete, was shocked to hear my vehicle had not yet arrived. It turns out that someone in their company SOMEHOW mixed up my shipping ID number & postal code in their system, which would explain why they couldn’t find my file, but it didn’t explain why my vehicle had still not been delivered 14 days later.

SIXTEEN days later, my vehicle finally showed up. It was the last vehicle on the trailer & the first vehicle loaded onto the trailer, & it had been resting on its front wheels that entire time (I took photos of it while it was still on the trailer). The vehicle was unloaded on my driveway & asides from it being understandably dirty, it looked perfectly fine. It wasn’t.

Unbeknownst to me, & not visible to the eye, the sidewalls of the front tires were damaged from having to support the weight of the vehicle during a very lengthy trip.

The next day, I got into my vehicle for the first time since I had received it, & the front tires blew simultaneously while I was driving on a 5 lane heavy traffic bridge over water. I barely managed to control the vehicle & I somehow veered to a very tiny shoulder along the bridge. I was with my daughter & the situation was absolutely terrifying. My daughter was crying hysterically & I had to calm myself from having a full blown panic attack. Here we are in a new city, & in a very dangerous situation. Fortunately, a police officer was driving by & called a tow truck, who was just 2 minutes away, & told us to stay in the vehicle until they could safely move traffic, as it was extremely dangerous to get out. The police officer himself had to slide against the bridge railing to get to us.

My vehicle was towed to a nearby Mercedes dealership where they confirmed that the SIDEWALLS OF THE BRNAD NEW TIRES I HAD JUST BOUGHT WERE DAMAGED FROM THE TRANSIT OF MY VEHICLE, causing the tires to blow.

After Mercedes told me that the tires blowing up were a cause of the lengthy transport from Alberta to Ontario, I ended up purchasing a pair of used tires from Mercedes & I filed a claim with Hansens. I included all the facts, as well as invoices from the towing company & Mercedes, & I had included photos of the incident. Mercedes also offered to cooperate if Hansens needed a professional opinion while processing my claim.

My claim was under $500, which was extremely reasonable since they ruined two of my new tires. I was only billing Hansens for the two used tires & the towing charges that I incurred, & my CLAIM WAS DENIED.

This was a terrible, frustrating, costly & frightening experience. I had given them every opportunity to make this right, & now they want to deny responsibility.

These drivers are literally the worst on the roads. They are aggressive and inconsiderate. Probably miserable delivering cars they won’t be able to afford. Please provide a list of the dealerships you supply so I can avoid them. Thanks.

Amazing service! My vehicle arrived from BC to Toronto in one peace. Fast, reliable and affordable. I've tried Livingston and I would avoid Livingston at all costs. Car arrived 5 weeks late and had several problems with their service. Hands down, Hansen's is the best in the business. They also give you 48 hours to inspect your vehicle for damages, which is great. It gives you time to take your car for a wash (in the winter especially) and to inspect it prior to completing the process. Thanks for the peace of mind!

Fantastic company. Competitive pricing. Experienced partners in USA. Dena was amazing. She guided us through her emails in detail for all the documentation needed. The timetable given to us was accurate. The process was flawless from beginning to end. A 24 karat gold company. Thank you very much for bringing my car from the east coast of Florida to Toronto.

Very good and reputable service. Trustworthy company. Delivered my car from Calgary to Toronto in 2 weeks over the busy Christmas period. Car was in the exact same condition when I picked it up as when I dropped it off.

I recently used L. Hansen's to ship my leased vehicle from Lethbridge AB to Cambridge ON after being referred to them by a sales representative at AMJ Campbell.

They offer a tracking service for the vehicle, but I found early on that it was not necessarily accurate. I was watching the online system and read it to say the vehicle would be sitting in the Toronto depot for about a week prior to delivery at my door in Cambridge. When I followed up with the company, the administrative person came back and informed me that no, I was incorrect, and that it was only getting on the train now and that apparently the system hadn't been entered correctly (which made me second guess the tracking from then on out).

Finally, I was then displeased that when my vehicle finally did arrive (on a Friday evening) it was unloaded Monday but further delayed because the depot apparently did not have a delivery address. They called and emailed me for this address that was provided to the same administrative person in Calgary at least two other times, and it delayed my vehicle delivery another day. When I followed up regarding this delay the same administrative person came back with a snotty email saying that according to my timeline it wasn't supposed to be here until the 21st anyways, furthering my displeasure that it was their mistake it was delayed in the first place.

When i finally did get my vehicle it was in good shape with no damage or inside repairs needed. I would recommend them, but avoid speaking with the administrative staff and work directly with a sales person if possible. On top of their rude email communication, it seems it was their error that delayed my vehicle as well.

Margaret was a dream to work with in the initial contact, and after I confirmed and provided payment it was only afterwards (when dealing with their admin/receptionist) that my experience became frustrating.
