Some of the food at this Korean restaurant was surprising, but there were a few things that weren't thought through in the food experience.
The most commendable thing about the meal we ordered was the preparation and taste of the pig's trotters. The pig's trotters are removed from the hoof bones, allowing the bones to become decorations, which not only stimulates appetite, but also greatly reduces the trouble of diners to remove the meat on their own. The pork trotter itself is divided into two parts: meat and tendons plus fat skin. Through marinating and grilling, the texture and taste of the meat are both crispy and crispy, just like eating the center part of a comfortable Napoleon cake; the tendons and fat skin are roasted to perfection, and when chewed in the mouth, they are both glutinous and chewy. The oil produced adds a deep aftertaste. It can be said that the pig's trotters dish is very successful. But some of them were poorly thought out and caused some regrets. For example, the room temperature is a little low, so the purple clay plate holding the pig's trotters cannot be kept warm, and the fat on the tendons and pig skin has condensed, making the taste worse.
The rice you ordered can be shaped into rice balls with your hands, but because the rice itself is not sticky enough, the rice balls cannot be formed at all. There are also some issues that are not listed one by one. In short, there are surprises and regrets, but it is definitely recommended.

Top rating Korean restaurant. Food quality is great - strongly recommend seafood pancake, so crispy, it has good balance on seafood and pancake. Original Braised Pork Hocks - big portion, good texture with layers of tastes. First time to try Walmae (Korean white wine), very interesting, perfect match with Korean food, love it. Nice vibes, polite and attentive staffs. Definitely come back again.

Servers were fast and considerate. The food was so flavorful. I didn't like jokbal before but this place changed me.

Loved their kimchi bacon pancakes which were nice and crispy with not too much dough. Also tried their garlic jokbal which i found to be not too bad though not up my alley personally.

Don't try to get to another place, this is the best one, where you could find.

Good food but can’t tolerate the attitude of our waitress. I went to Hanyang Jokbal with my friends on April 30 for late lunch. The female waitress was inpatient and unhelpful. When I was trying to pay with tab the machine didn’t work. She didn’t try to offer help but just stood there and let me kept trying to tap. After many tries, the POS machine was timed out. So I asked her if I should try my physical credit card. She rolled her eyes and made frustrated sound as I was stupid. She reset the POS machine and rudely hand me the machine with out saying a word. I successfully paid the bill with my physical credit card and wanted to hand the POS machine back to her. She just stood there and looked around, totally ignored me. After holding the POS machine for more than 5 seconds, I have to leave the machine on the table.
To be honest, I love the food of the restaurant but I don’t want to go back because the rude service we received.

Very Korean feel in this restaurant. The food tastes very good. Make sure have someone sign up before you go. A waiting list is always there for dinner and lunch.

This place has been on our list for awhile, and it was definitely not disappointing. We ordered the jokbal and DIY rice balls. We were worried about the spice level so we settled for regular, but in hindsight, we would’ve wanted to order spicy or garlic. It was still good though, and the portions were big. We ended up taking some of it home. On the other hand, we LOVED the DIY rice balls. It seemed simple at first but so delicious, and I personally enjoy food that is interactive aha. We’d definitely go again to try another jokbal flavour!

Hangyon? Are those feet in my plate? Who knew feet could be so delicious. 100% would recommend!

The original jokbal (pig front arm) is awesome. We also order the diy rice ball and it is tasty. The side dish is OK. It is perfect for a romantic eat out.

This was such a delicious and satisfying meal. I've loved jokbal since I tried it in Korea but didn't know if Toronto had any places that made it. So glad we finally tried it, it did not disappoint and dare I say it was probably better than the place I tried in Seoul. Seafood pancake was huge and one of the best I've tried so far. Only thing missing on menu is gyeranjjim so hopefully one day they will decide to add it onto the menu. Need to come back and try the gukbap bc dwaeji gukbap was one my fav meals I had in Busan and I've missed it. Prices may seem a lil high but for so much food and the quality, I'd say it was worth it. Customer service was also great, staff were very friendly and came by a couple times to check if everything was OK. Def recommend this place.

The staff is kind and efficient. The pork was delicious along with a salad, kimchi and soup. 100% worth the price. Look forward to my next visit!

The braised pork hocks were perfectly cooked and just tasting amazing. Seasoned rice and rice cake tasted great, too. Fast service and friendly waiters. Only a few parking spaces but street parking is available nearby. Will come back again. Highly recommend!

Amazing food. The pig trotters are delicious and the portion is huge. Could definitely feed 3 people. They give you 6 or 7 side dishes to eat with the pork. Kimchi was one of the best I’ve had so far. My other favourite side was the radish, which was fermented and seasoned perfectly. The service was also excellent; the food came quickly and our waitress was kind and attentive.

We got the original jokbal and it was delicious. So soft and tender. The portion was big enough to feed 3 people at least. We also go the DIY rice balls - so simple, but so tasty. Friendly service. Definitely recommend.

Taste good but service was a big zero. The Korean guy and Indian girl were busy eating lunch and being lazy and indifferent afterwards. They didn’t care about their patrons even too lazy to take tip.

We left this restaurant completely content and full!
From jokbal to the noodle, and the fish cake soup, everything was delicious.
The tender meat came off so easily.
The staffs are really kind and friendly, and the restaurant is clean and spacious

This place lives up to the hype. Expect to wait to be seated but it’ll be so worth it. The jokbal here is unlike anywhere else!

When i was here about 1year ago it wasn't good as i expected.dirty place and dirty food.and most of all i saw the kitchen area.the way they work wasn't actually clean.it was really terrible

Had an amazing experience, food was delicious (had the spicy bossam as well as the rice bowl), everything was well seasoned and the portion was huge for just the 2 of us. Our server was so attentive, he came around frequently and he even gave us extra side dishes for the leftovers we took home. We just happened upon this restaurant and so glad we decided to give it a try!
