Happy Lamb Hot Pot, Toronto 快乐小羊

I had the pleasure of trying Happy Lamb Hot Pot's special hot & sour broth, and it was a flavor explosion in my mouth!

I'm not usually a fan of hot pot, but Happy Lamb Hot Pot changed my mind. Their mushroom broth is incredibly rich and savory, and the quality of the meats and seafood is top-notch.

Hot pot was such a fun experience- very interactive! I loved having my own soup to cook unlimited items in. For all you can eat downtown Toronto, I thought it was a reasonable price (especially if you can eat a lot). I recommend coming with lot's of time to eat and bringing a large group of friends. The food ordered comes in small taster plates which is best to prevent wasting food or overeating. At they end of the meal you also get a free purple yam icecream bar which tasted like matcha- so yummy! I highly recomend this restaurant and will definitely be back!

This place was bliss. Probably because my first time trying Hot Pot. However, it was just super delicious, super fast service and clean, and great preparation. The food is very fresh and delicious.

I've been to Happy Lamb Hot Pot several times, and each time I'm amazed at how delicious their broth is.

This place has quickly become my favorite spot for hot pot. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the food is always spot on. Love the spicy butter broth!

Happy Lamb Hot Pot is a must-visit for any hot pot fan. The variety of broths and meats is impressive and the service is top notch. Can't wait to go back!

20.99 for lunch but additional 4.99 for a soup base. The ingredients are fresh.good selection, and the meats are nicely shaved and tasty. There is also a funky robot that serves you.

Only downside they seem to have gotten rid of their free drinks.

The price is still affordable, the service is good, no waiting list, generous variety, the flavour is rich! What else you expect? Come and try, don’t forget to ask ice cream at the end of your meal!

Great selection of food for all you can eat hotpot. Service was fast and they provided us with Melona popsicles for dessert.

This is one of the most affordable AYCE (All You Can Eat) Hotpot joints where you literally can order off the menu as much as you need (or want for that matter).

There is a lunch menu and dinner menu where the lunch menu is pretty much mostly vegetable or processed meat items like fishballs etc and frozen meats (basically all hotpot places use frozen meat as I think it's more hygenic and easier to cut). For the lunch menu they don't have sliced meat option so you got to add like $5 or something for it, but if you go during dinner, it is more expensive but you get a way larger variety of meats and spare parts (like tripes, stomach, intestines and frog legs etc). They have a weekend surcharge which is additional CAD 1 before tax and tips from Friday to Sunday and public holidays.

Soup base is not included in the AYCE price and they have small single soup base pots or a large pot for sharing or even better, a large pot with dual soup base where you can choose from. If I remember correctly the soup bases are tomato, clear, spicy, sour and spicy (different from just spicy). Depending on your choice of small single pots or large shared pot, they will assign you different table types as the tables have the 2 different types of configurations, electronic individual pot stoves or one large pot stove.

Basically food wise, soup base wise and ingredients wise they are great. This place is not small but if I didn't remember wrongly, they only had like 3 servers (where one of they also collects payment) for a space of more than 15 tables so for hungry customers who eat very fast or don't order enough, you'll have to wait quite long before their server comes to you. One key thing to note is no matter how much quantity you specify on your order sheet, they kind of ignore that and just give what they think is adequate for the number of people in the group or number or reorders (the more reorders, I reckon the lesser the quantity, even though I specified like 3 * 3 prawns, I was given only 5 pieces of prawns though they did specify in their menu how many prawns per portion). They do miss outitems now and then so if you remind them, they'll bring it for you. One suggestion is to order the most variety of ingredients at one go and add on more later on if they don't provide enough.

They do deploy a robot server to bring the large quantity of food to your table but the real server will come with a stand and big tray to place all your food on given the limited space there is on the table top.

Food wise based on price is definitely 5 stars but I dropped 2 stars for service as they are severely understaffed and quantity of food is not fulfilled so the average comes to a 4 stars. Hope they can manage this better or more efficiently without increasing the price, else it will be lower rated.

The service is so slow. I ordered and the soup in my hotpot is almost dry but my food hasn't been served.

I CANT WAIT TO COME BACK! My friend and i came here for the first time and for our first hot pot experience and that’s exactly what it was—an experience! The gentleman working, who was serving us, was absolutely amazing! He explained everything to us, how it works, what’s good, what’s popular and when the food came to the table, he showed us how to properly cook everything and explained exactly how long for! The service was amazing, they gave us a pitcher of water which my friend and i both drank and just as we emptied the first, they came with a new, full pitcher of water.we went with the spicy and the original broth—did the yin yang and we also ordered lamb and beef.the meat was exceptional, the soup broth was hot and salty and spicy and flavorful, the veggies were fresh, the service was amazing, our table was never empty! They also ensured we had enough soup broth at all times, topping it up when it was getting low as this is crucial to an enjoyable hot pot experience.there were tons of options on the menu from veggies to seafood to tofu to additional meats.there is something for everyone! One of my favourite things was making your own sauce! Our server let us know which combination was popular if we were unsure which to mix and that was also an awesome recommendation! All around amazing.i honestly can not wait to come back here and i can’t wait to tell all my friends about how great happy lamb is! An excellent experience, and high quality food.thank you, i will see you again soon! ** (i should also mention they are following all covid/vaccine mandate protocols and they were very friendly and thorough about it! Used to love dining in this place. However, on our last visit the service was really horrible.
- They forgot our water, we waited close to 40 mins for water. Asked for the water, they forgot again.
- Our last order was only 2 items. We waited long enough and turns out she forgot about it.
-The server did not check on us.

Food is still good. Due to the service and their demands for more tips after we gave tips that reflect the service, not coming back. That was our last visit.

We were attracted by a promotion post were they stated that you only need to pay $1 more for holidays and weekends. So we get there Sat.noon and it's dinner price, because they don't have a lunch option for weekends.
The waiter is very impatient and unfriendly. We selected the half hot and half tomato soup base and they are just bland. Some of the dishes are not cleaned well and taste fishy. We got two coupons but would never try again.

Great spot! The options available are numerous and service is fast. The value supersedes the cost. When I go with my partner and/or friends, we always leave happy!

This hot pot place is amazing. It’s my favourite spot. The soup is very flavourful even on its own. They have many options for ur soup different types of noodles and veggies and cuts of meat. Last time I went was externally busy at around 6pm. They had a robot that would deliver your food to ur table as well as the servers who would bring ur drinks and take ur orders. It is a but expensive, about 70$ per person on the weekend. So it’s better to go during the week so it’s not as busy and expensive.

Hot pot is really good. I loved the robot server! The price is expensive for lunch. It's about $40/person.

For Ayce, not very pricy but very good quality of meats and lots of choices of good meats and others. Service is great. The soup is very good. Will come again

A little pricy, but all you can eat is worth it. They now use robots as waiters and servers, no labor shortage.great idea.

Food is not quite fresh but overall ok. Minus point was separate hot pot for each person eventhough we asked to cook together. The table needs to he cleaned better. I found some greasy spots on the side of my table and underneath the table.

Horrible experience. It was fine before covid and was actually one of my favs. The new servers were rude. There were no ayce appetizers and drinks. The soy milk I had to order for $3 (previously free) was also horrible to taste. It tasted like medicine. It costed $42 per person after tax and tips. I will never come here again. There are way better hotpots in Chinatown.

Very nice restaurant to eat at. They have tons of food and selection to choose from for your hot pots. It's great for family and friends to dine at. Although, the place is a bit dark and the location is a bit hard to find. But overall, great restaurant experience you should try out.

I appreciate the unlimited drinks here: water, soy bean milk, and plum juice. They have a mini appetizer stand with delicious spring rolls! The hotpot here is individualized so was kinda sad. Some of the vegetables like the enoki mushrooms were not washed properly and still contained dirt. Service was nice and not rude, I really appreciate that!

Didn't have a clue. But fortunately a member of our group knew what to order. I loved it & am looking forward to another meal there.

I'm not a hot pot afficinado but I enjoyed the food, and the price and atmosphere was decent. The menu selection was also good, I'd definitely go again

It's okay. Not the greatest or cleanest looking, with decent service. The place could work on brightening up the decor or side dishes.

Great, quick service. Fresh food. No time constraints. This location is fantastic! I've tried other Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot locations (and they're all good) but this one is my favorite. The shrimp balls in particular are delicious. I never feel rushed for time, servers are kind and everything is extremely tasty. The sauce/finger food bar is great. My favorite hot pot place in town.

Delicious food, with a generous serving of whatever required (we did AYCE lunch). Relatively attentive staff given how busy it was as well.

Great service and good food for a reasonable price. This is a good authentic hot pot place to go to but it will get very busy so either get reservations or go early

Haven't been here in a while. They really stepped up their game. Meats are fresh and service was fast. I did come here on a Monday night though. They offer free drinks as well. (Plum juice or soya milk)

Great portion to price ratios, love the atmosphere, and the quality is very good. Though the menu may be slightly confusing on first look, This is a great place to go with friends and catch up while easily eating your fill.

Awesome hotpot for a good price. Only thing to watch out for is your clothes smelling like hotpot for the next 2 days. Suggest leaving you jacket at home if you can.

Bad customer service and food arrived very late which we ordered. Food was kind of stinky and meat were too thin for us. I like hotpot including chinese hot pot but this places didn’t exceed my expectations at all. Only good thing is very cheap compared to the other similar hotpot restaurant in China town.

Great value for high quality hot pot. Nice selection of sauces, meats and vegetables and tasty broth. Can easily spend a couple hours enjoying all you can eat. $22.99 for dinner on weekdays, $23.99 for dinner on Fridays and weekends. $4 beers as well! This is a great spot.

The service is terrible! Their stoves were not working properly, but they said it was hot enough to boil foods when I asked them to switch stoves. It took too long to cook foods, which was very annoying. Besides, the stoves kept stopping working. I had to ask them to fix them several times while I was eating. They should replace them.

Beautiful fragrant broth and great fresh ingredients. The service was friendly too. Really great experience.

The soup was delicious. Service was a bit slow and we got our order missing items, but it wasn't anything to subtract from the great food experience. Would definitely go back
