Happy Palace Chinese And Canadian Restaurant

Just had this for the first time. The woman who took my order was super nice. I got a combo for one (chicken balls, rice and egg roll) and it was so good! It was also a TON of food, I couldn’t eat it all. It’s a great price also. I can’t believe I’ve never eaten here. I’ve been missing out! It was also ready very fast. Super happy with Happy!

Really good Chinese food for Peterborough. Out of all the Chinese food I have tried here this is definitely the best. It is on the pricier side at regular price but worth the cost.

We ordered the food and it was a total disaster. The oil used tasted so old and they gave us the wrong order.
We were totally disappointed with their service. We ordered egg roll and received spring roll with just sprouts in it.
If you are someone who is very cautious about health and good taste this is not the place you should visit.

Real mixed bag here, they do the basics well but somethings are a miss. The chicken ball batter was hard and tasted like frozen and The spar-rib meat was so tough they went uneaten.

On the good side the meat in the low and chow mein was both good and lots of up. The fried rice was also good.

Reminder this is a very Canadian Chinese food place, if that’s what you are looking for than it’s worth the trip.

Went here just today and they are still not doing dine in.why? If it sounds like scam it probably is. Mandarin is much better anyway.

We were so pleased with the food we received. It was the most delicious Chinese food we’ve eaten since moving to Peterborough. The cook was so accommodating, some stuff we wanted either add ons or take off and the food came just as ordered. Would recommend the place by far.

Was oh hold for 24 minutes, so I decided to go there and the place was not busy at all. I called the place while I was there and got put on hold again, so I went in to confirm that it was not busy. I don't get it.

This is our Chinese restaurant of choice. The prices are great, the food is hot when it gets home and it’s close to home.

The food here is good. The biggest problem is that when they tell you what time your food will be ready it never is. I waited an hour longer from the time it was supposed to be ready on my last visit.

Stopped in here on my way to a friend's place; had been driving a good ways. So, gave it a try and wow, so glad I did. Food portions are great and the quality was very tasty! Loved the spring rolls and chicken balls! So crispy and the chicken to batter ratio was bang on! Definitely ordering from here again next time in town!

They are constantly busy from open to close and you can not blame them. Their food is great. I'm from Toronto and finding a great Chinese place was essential.

Kind staff who make food quickly and serve at a good price. Happy to have this place so close to my dorm room.

Ordered last night 2 combo plates - fast delivery - food was hot and lots of it. Best Chinese we have found in Peterborough. Will order there again for sure.

First time ordering food trom here. It was very good. Ordered the Mushroom Egg Foo Yung, and a Sesame chicken. The delivery fee is a little steep at $10 but considering the lower prices and large portions it's about on par with the price of other places. If you are craving a traditional sesame chicken unfortunately theirs is not traditional, it's more a sweet and sour chicken with sesame seeds on top. None the less all of it came to my door on the opposite side of town very hot and tasted delicious. For what is what the sesame chicken tastes good. I just don't think it's a traditional sesame chicken. Thanks for dinner guys!

Good pricing, fast, hot, and consistently tasty food. Favorite Chinese cuisine in Peterborough for sure. Absolutely 5 stars. Highly recommend.

I finally found it in Ptbo, very satisfied with this restaurant. Fresh, crispy, tender, just fantastic.

Dinner for 2 = Too "earthy" tasting.

The chicken chow mein needs brown sugar to get the taste of earth (dirt) out of it. The pale (boiled?) chicken pieces were way too big.

The egg rolls are huge and the exterior is awesome but the sprouts inside are also very earthy dirt tasting and way way too hard. Again, a little brown sugar will neutralize the dirt taste and softer sprouts please.

Chicken balls were just fine although the red sauce is missing a little taste. It's almost bland. The intense red color also stained my fingers! Too much coloring.

The rice was OK. Nothing special but also not bad at all. I've had much worse.

I guess the only place to get incredible Chinese food is in Quebec.

Owner: nobody wants to pay $30 to taste earth. Cheers.

Just visited the restaurant, the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I ordered chicken fried rice and schezwan beef, cost me around 23 bucks with tax. Fried rice was a disaster, the beef was OK, but it’s clearly seen that the food is just taken from the microwave. The restaurant did not deserve even a one star. The review is just based only on the two items I had.

If you saw the way the food was handled in the kitchen, disgustingly breaking every possible health, food and safety law, you'd never eat there. Mouse dropping everywhere etc.

The owner is so kind and sweet. I absolutely love the food and nowhere else compares to their food. Looking forward to getting food from here again as we usually try to get takeout from here once a month.

First time trying this place, and I'm pleasantly surprised! It was my niece's birthday and she loves the food from here, she always talks about the chicken balls and red sauce. I'll be coming more often, best chinese food around!

Absolutely amazing. First time we ordered from here. And they were so friendly. Food was perfect. Not a single complaint. I would strongly advise trying this place out. I am hooked and will only order from here now. Thank you for the wonderful dinner.

We love going out. Last night we arrived in this superb restaurant which we didn’t know before. We enjoyed a lovely time there with high-qulity dishes and a courteous team and an impressive chief cook. We added this place in our phone list and we will no doubt visit again very soon. We warmly recommend.

Great little place to eat. The food is very good and not pricey. The restaurant is not a large facility, but I have always found it neat and clean. They do a large take-out business and that in my mind equals 'good food'. Becky has a long standing history in the Chinese food industry and is wonderful at Customer Service. Once she knows your name, she does not forget you. She always makes you feel like 'you are coming home for dinner'. A secret little 'happy palace' that you may want to just keep to yourself.

Ordered via phone for takeout and it was ready in 15 minutes and the food was blessed. Much better than other Chinese food restaurants in ptbo.

The food is so good here. And the service is great. The lady who owns it makes you feel like an old friend who is always welcome.

We have tried every chinese restaurant in Peterborough and FINALLY found our favorite and go to place. All dishes were flavorful, prices reasonable, staff friendly. Only regret is not having known of this place until recently.

Recommned dishes: Beef rice noodle and broccoli, yang chow fried rice, cantonese chow mein. The sweet and sour chicken balls were so-so only because the sweet and sour sauce was pretty bland.
