Happy Tails Pet Resort & Camp

I recently found Happy Tails Pet Resort while looking for a daycare for my dog, and it's been a wonderful discovery. Their cage-free environment and beautiful property immediately caught my attention.
From the moment I dropped off my dog, it was evident that she was in capable hands. Lisa, who welcomed us, took the time to understand both our needs and our dog's, creating a sense of comfort and confidence in our choice. This personal touch made all the difference.
The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and provides a secure space for dogs to socialize and play. When my dog returned home tired and happy, I knew it was the perfect daycare experience.
I wholeheartedly recommend Happy Tails Pet Resort and Camp to anyone seeking exceptional pet daycare or boarding services. They've earned our trust, and we'll certainly be back for more enjoyable days for our dog!

Sent our dogs there for almost two weeks. We were nervous but they came back super happy and looking in great shape. It’s like their summer camp! Esp since they are rescues and not usually let off leash etc.they got to swim etc etc.and they accommodated their raw food and stuff.

Lisa and Happy Tails are a gift to dog families. The resort itself is superb and my dogs always seem happy and well taken care of when i pick them up. I recommend them highly

Awful place to work. Verbal abuse towards me and the dogs was unbelievable.
Clients DO NOT get what they pay for, very misleading. When Clients are not allowed to see the conditions their dogs are kept in this is a red flag. Dogs are left mostly unattended to bark and wine.
Owner is more concerned about "pictures" and social media than animal care.
I am extremely disappointed, thought I would have a perfect job.

My Dog Odie always comes home calm and chill. And has clearly had a good romp with his dog buddies. The cage-free resort is perfect for dogs with anxiety. And he can come and go into his own room with heated floors, so I don't worry about him being cold. Lisa really understands dogs. She doesn't fuss and get them all excited, and you can see they listen to her. It's great that I don't have to worry about him or the cats while away. The cat rooms have everything a cat could want. They seemed so content when I dropped them off and when I picked them up.

A simply outstanding dog resort. It’s not easy to leave your pooch in somebody else’s care. It has to be a match. After a few different places (all competent) we landed at Happy Tails - and the best news is that our sensitive Great Dane Jasper LOVES it! It’s not just that we like the team, it’s that Jasper comes back hugely happy, healthy and clearly a better dog for all the socialization that he experiences. It’s not just how we feel - which is important. It’s how Jasper reacts. It can always be a little bit stressful for a dog the first stay though honestly we didn’t see any of that with Jasper - but by the second stay, Jasper just doesn’t even look back! It’s hilarious! He just hopped in the pick up van and said “let’s go! ” That is the most informative info. They send some pics (though a few more would be great) and they communicate exceptionally well. Their first job is a healthy environment for their guests and the second is managing dog parents so they have their priorities right. We have enjoyed seven dogs over the years and Jasper is among the most sensitive. He loves Happy Tails and we give it five stars! A great team.

As a previous employee, who witnessed firsthand the unprofessional operations, unhygienic housing, neglect & abuse of animals as well as employees; I would not leave a stuffed animal to be cared for here, let alone a living breathing animal.

Dec 10th update- my dogs have been going for a couple months now and it has been a real treat. After my comment about the pictures, Lisa gifted two free days and made sure we had pictures this time. That was really amazing to hear. Our long time groomer even commented on the dogs and how well they have been for her! So happy to know that it’s done a significant change. Thanks Lisa and team! I think that dogs are an extension of our family, and for my two pups Bella & Leo I agree. I throughly looked threw their website and then emailed, I wanted a safe place with experienced staff. (Both dogs suffer from anxiety due to a break in) It’s in a beautiful setting, and we can put the dogs in the pen ourselves which is awesome. Leo even learnt how to swim! Super secure, even if you have a escape artist. We have to go threw 2 doors just to get to the office! They always come home exhausted for the following two days. The only problem I have is that I never see any pictures of them on their Facebook page! I would love to see them. Thank you HP! ️

I can't praise Happy Tails Pet Resort & Camp enough. Nobody likes to leave their pet alone, but when I do, I drive 2000 km to Lisa's resort. Why? She has created a true paradise for pets and is my "Mrs. Dolittle of Muskoka". It is unbelievable what a wonderful sense she has for animals and how she has built this resort accordingly. Even dogs like mine, who are used to a free country life by the ocean, find fun and recreation there. Large fenced in forest areas to explore and romp around with other dogs, spa services, a shuttle service to the airport and always that extra love and dedication for the animals. Lisa and her team always go that one step extra and have a close eye on each individual guest and their needs. I would also travel 5000 km to Happy Tails Pet Resort & Camp, simply because Lisa always takes such wonderful care of Banga and I can take my dog back home balanced and satisfied. Happy Tails Pet Resort & Camp: highly recommended!

Wow! Thank you Happy tails in Huntsville! What a difference a wonderful kennel makes! We have 2 border collies. One is a senior at age 12 with arthritis. The other is a 10 month old non neutered male. They had the best week holliday ever! We knew when we dropped them off that this was a special place. The dog in care were so calm. Ours went happily with the owner. This almost never happens at other kennels. When we picked them up they were very calm, clearly tired and clearly happy. There was no crazy jumping and anxiety barking. I can not say enough about how clearly they enjoyed themselves. Having a high energy, high anxiety pup we really needed a safe space for him to just enjoy being a dog. This was truly a wonderful kennel.

Mickey had a great time at Happy Tails, at his first visit and for 5 days he scooted off with the staff and never took a backward glance at me until he was pooped from playing and swimming and agreed to come home at the end…. He slept solid for our 6 h drive home and was happy as can be! Catherine

We took our rescue pup here and, as first time dog owners, we were nervous to drop her off. As soon as we got there we were greeted with a friendly smile by Lisa and immediately felt relieved by her warmth and positive energy. Our pup had such an awesome day playing outside and exploring with friends. It’s so reasonably priced and clear that Lisa and her team love what they do…spoil animals and provide them enriching and memorable experiences. Would definitely recommend!

I have taken my two Aussies to Happy Tails since they were puppies. That's for more than 6 years and they go here once a week in average and they have also spent full weeks here when I had to travel for work or pleasure. They seem to love it here, judging upon how they pull to get inside whenever we get close to the reception area. They always came back healthy and tired. The exercise with the pack of friends is great for them. The pictures taken at Happy Tails speak for themselves. These are happy dogs.

We purchased the 100 day Detox One-Step up Package for our rescue Jimmy. (EVERY RESCUE SHOULD START HERE). It was recommended we contact Lisa at Happy Tails and give Jimmy the much needed time he deserved. We call him Jimmy 2.0 What an unbelievable success this program was. Highly recommend. Lisa, Thank You Jimmy will be a frequent flyer.

Another wonder adventure for my dog while I take my own adventure up north! This time we stopped by Happy Tails to drop off the pups while heading up to Sault Ste Marie for the Agawa Canyon Train Tour. It's so nice to be able to go away for a week without having to worry about my girl. For years Happy Tails has been a great haven for my pup when I take my longer trips. It's worth the few hour drive up from Halton. She always come back to me safe, tired and happy. I love seeing the pictures posted on Facebook of her sniffing around and interacting with the other dogs. She used to go to a different doggy daycare as a puppy and never had nearly as good as a time as she does at Happy Tails. The owner here truly cares about dogs and not only runs this beautiful doggy resort but also helps rescues find new homes in her spare time. Definitely reccomend trying this place out if you're looking for a place to leave your furbaby overnight.

We adopted Tim from Happy Tails re-homing program a couple of years ago. He is such a great family member. He is wonderful with our kids, adjusted quickly to farm life with two more dogs, and even learned to love our cats and chickens:). He is friendly and goofy and sweet, all in one amazing package. We are so thankful for our adoption through Happy Tails! Thank-you, Lisa!

Happy Tails is a wonderful place for pets, and Lisa provides an amazing service to her clients. It is evident time and time again to me how much she cares about the dogs that she looks after. I have been taking my young border collie here for 6 months, and when we pull up in the morning she eagerly jumps out of the car to greet Lisa and have a play day. I can trust that when my dog is at Happy Tails she will be placed with dogs of similar size & temperament. She always comes home tired and happy & sometimes a little dirty but that is a good thing in my opinion!

I've brought my dog, Sydney, to Happy Tails Pet Resort 3 times now. I'm about to book a 4th! She loves it and comes home well exercised and tired - which is great as she is a 10 month old puppy with LOTS of energy. I highly recommend Happy Tails to any dog owner looking for a reliable, safe and fun place for your dog to stay and socialize with other dogs. It's a gem of a spot.

Harrison is always so very happy to see Lisa whenever we drop him off. We trust Lisa to take care of Harrison - making sure to keep him dry (as he gets hot spots) and making sure that he gets his daily medication for his epilepsy. Harrison always comes home happy & tired from his stay. Thanks Lisa for taking such great care of our big boy!

Kona loved her week at Happy Tails and we also loved the frequent Facebook pictures! We’ll be back next year!

Would give 10 stars if we could! We decided on Happy Tails after doing a lot of research on where to leave our fur baby when we were getting married. We decided to extend our wedding getaway by one evening and Lisa was quick to assure us we could leave Archie there an extra night so that we could relax and enjoy. Our 1 yr old German Shepherd Archie had the absolute time of his life. You can tell that Lisa treats each dog like her own. Her kindness and compassion for animals will have us recommending happy tails to all of our friends. The GTA shuttle to the resort is genius! This allowed us to make sure my wedding dress arrived in one piece and not covered in dog hair haha. Seriously - don’t even think twice about it. Take your fur babies to Happy Tails and you won’t worry about a thing. I’ll update my review with one of the gorgeous pictures Lisa took but I couldn’t let a day go by where I didn’t leave a 5 star review. Thanks again! Archie misses you already:)

This place is like Doggie Heaven, Every dog should have an experience here.
We have Frenchie, who demanded to go for a 3 day experience. She/Echo had a blast, as she slept for the next 12 hours, after picking her up. I could not have asked for anything more and loved that you posted a pictures on f/b, while she was there (It was great to see she was having fun). Echo want's to say, Hi to her friend Bianca. Brought my dog to happy tails for a weekend and she had little to no positive experience with other dogs beforehand. Happy tails worked with her over the weekend and she made three new doggie friends over the weekend (and tired!). It was like picking up a kid after a summer camp.

As always my experience at Happy Tails was exceptional. My hound dog Lily loves it there. Lisa is friendly and very accommodating. I had to change my date and time of pickup quite a few times and it was no problem. Thank you for the pictures you take. Always amazing!

Robbie just spent several days at Happy Tails. He had a blast in the outdoor spaces. He's finished up as a super tired pup! We will definitely be back!

I have been sending my setters to Lisa for almost two years now. In contrast to when I pull up to the veterinarians office, at Happy Tails my dogs jump out of the car and don't even look back. They absolutely love it there. Who wouldn't? There is no better place that I have encountered for the dogs to board. I don't have to think too hard about it because as every pet owner knows, it is easy to tell when the dog is content and even more so when they are thrilled.

Lisa and her staff do a wonderful job of caring for the nonhumans in their midst but also of communicating with the pet owner. I appreciate that. Highly recommend!

My dogs Red and Snickers love going to Happy Tails. Lisa is awesome with all the dogs. I always know they'll be well taken care of when I leave my boys in her care.
