Haunted Walk of Ottawa

Had a great time but I wish I would have experienced having a ghost or something else scary
like the presence of a ghost.

Had a wonderful tour with Marren great stories and they were super nice! Me and my friends all enjoyed our Time would definitely recommend!

I’ve now been twice (the original walk and most recently the jail tour) and especially this time, it was awesome. Our guide was super nice, she clearly knew all of her stuff really well and she shared some really cool stories! I’m really disappointed to hear that the jail tour will be shutting down because it’s such a unique Ottawa experience so I encourage everyone to go do it while you still have a change! Can’t wait to see what other spooky tours will be offered!

My husband and I had such a blast! We hadn't gone on a Haunted Walk since we were teens, so it was great to see that the quality of the tour exceeded our own memories. We were sad to find out that the jail tours will stop running after this year and immediately booked one. Staff were so friendly (they even bumped us up to the earlier tour as we arrived early) and the tour guide (Monica) was so nice and the way they shared the stories was really engaging. Whether you believe in the paranormal or not, even without the ghosts the tour is such a fun way to learn more about local Ottawa history and a chance to check out parts of heritage buildings that you normally might not have access to. Overall, we loved our experience and will definitely plan another spooky date night for the other tour themes offered!

Excellent guide who certainly knew her stories kept us guessing as to what the next tale would be. A great way to see a different side of our city!

Great experience with wonderful guide Robin. All the history and ghost stories were great! McKenzie sure was an very interesting character. Wonderful to see at night. Big bonus lots of beautiful fireflies in the forest and fields. A real treat!

The haunted walks are great. It’s not only about ghost and spirits. It’s fantastic how they incorporate Ottawa history into the event.

Nous avons fait l’expérience en anglais dans les derniers jours. La marche a permis de découvrir des lieux intéressants. Toutefois, les histoires étaient peu élaborées et fignolées. Elles se ressemblaient aussi beaucoup. Elles
n’avaient pas toujours de lien avec les lieux non plus. La guide parlait tout bas et avait de la difficulté à livrer le tout sous forme d’histoires. Nous avions souvent de la difficulté à la comprendre. Le coût pour cette activité est trop élevé pour l’expérience vécue.

We arrived at the meeting spot a few minutes early, thanks to the directions emailed to us with our tickets, showing the road closures in Gatineau Park. Sign in was easy and bug spray was provided. We met our guide Leonard (sp?) shortly after. He was friendly, personable and a great presenter. The walk around the property was relaxed and there was not a lot that person with any mobility issues would not be able to overcome. The stories and history were well presented, similar to other haunted walks we have been on in Ottawa. I’d certainly do this tour again with visiting friends and family. Even if to hear of more recent experiences from the staff.

What a fantastic evening! I have done several of the haunted walks and I have never been disappointed. Amber was our tour guide and she was well spoken, funny and very knowledgeable. The Mackenzie King Estate is beautifully maintained and the stories of who he was and how he cherished this property are marvellous. To be able to walk on the same paths as he did over 120 years ago on a hot summer night you can almost feel his essence surrounding you. The stories told were eerie and creepy and left me wanting to know more about the land and the man who built it for us to enjoy long after he has left this world. Absolutely fantastic and thank you to the staff who went above and beyond to ensure our enjoyment. Looking forward to doing another walk in the near future.

The Ottawa Haunted Jail Tour was worth every penny. Fascinating, well researched stories told by a personable, well-trained, knowledgeable guide. Heather was passionate about her topic and very pleasing to listen to. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Heather was our guide for the jail tour and she was amazing! She answered any questions people had and added extra little tidbits along the way. I loved the way she told the stories, it really kept up the spooky factor. It would have been really cool to tour the jail in the dark, but overall, we were quite happy with our experience and will be doing another tour the next time we are in town. Thank you heather!

Camille la guide etait tres intéressante et était une très bonne "raconteuse". Je n'avais pas de grands attentes ne sachant pas à quoi m'attendre. C'était bien mais sans plus, les histoires étaient intéressantes mais pas rien d'epeurant, dispendieux pour le résultat final. Je brule le punch "Tout le monde a entendu des pas et vu des ombres". Copier coller à chaque histoire. Mais Camille était très bonne pour raconter les histoires.

Fantastic experience! Our guide Sarah Ann was knowledgeable, funny and very friendly, she really made the tour worthwhile. We learned lots of history and spooky stories, visiting many haunted sites around Ottawa. The misty weather and gorgeous sunset added to the ambience. Would highly recommend the tour!

We recently did a Phantoms of Yore public investigation and it was a really special experience. We were treated to the history of the location then given real ghost hunting tools to explore and investigate. The hosts were very helpful and interesting, and there were lots of unexpected extras in the experience (free snacks, later access to the videos we recorded with their equipment).

Our tour guide was well prepared and knew her script and it was neato to see the grounds at night.

Be great if they told other guests to turn off their flashlights when you're stopped for stories because it's really obnoxious to blind the other guests when they've all turned their lights off. Otherwise great experience for a reasonable price.

We had a great walk at the Mackenzie King estate on Friday nite. It was very informative and a great setting. The group was small enough to hear our guide and interact. Well organized and covid safe activity. Maps to get there and port a potty appreciated. Flashlights provided were a nice surprise. I would definitely do another walk with this company!

A fun experience, especially for out of towners. I greatly appreciated the added note of the MMIWGs. It is a terrible truth of Canada's history.

Don't forget to bring cash to tip, or tip ahead when purchasing the tickets.

Interesting experience! Leonard was a great guide. I do recommend the downtown version as well- the jail is more interactive visually, and I’m happy I did that version first. But very cool to see the estate at night
