First time visit to Headline!

Needed a quick haircut yesterday (Friday, April 28) as I had several arrangements this weekend. Normally I would have made an appointment, but I took a last minute chance and just called if I could come by. They told me to be there in 20 minutes as they had an opening.

I showed up, got sat in a chair right away, and after a couple of questions, my haircut experience began. The barber was friendly, chatty and inquisitive (as all good barbers are!) and he made the entire session very pleasant. He even trimmed my eyebrows.

I asked if they do shaves with straight razors, and when I was told that they do. I will definitely get one next time, when I have a some more time.

Price wax reasonable, about the same as I have paid elsewhere.

I will definitely return.

I've been there twice to see Ash. Great job both times. He provides his recommendations but cuts the way you want it. They take cash or e-transfer.

Ash is one of the best barbers in the Tri-City Area. The shop's services are competitively priced, and the quality and atmosphere is outstanding. They're convenient to get to, and treat their customers with respect and care. I do not go to anyone else when I am in town.

Headline barber shop is one of the best barber shops that I have been to. They are a very professional establishment. The location is nice and clean, and very well kept. The hairdressers will always listen to your requests, and your hair will come out looking better than before. In the years that I have been visiting Headline, I have never been dissatisfied with a cut. I will continue to come to this establishment for many years to come. In this post pandemic world, Headline barber shop continues to follow COVID protocols, so you will need to book an appointment online since they don’t accept walk ins, but they will professionally cut your hair with your mask still on. An amazing place, and I would gladly recommend this location to anyone wanting to get a haircut.

The Barbers are hardworking and personable, they make great conversation while working and I've never had a bad cut.

Note that you can only pay with debit or cash and you must book online, they don't take walk-ins.

Good service, always professional, I would always recommend anyone to get their haircut or face done here. Comfortable and chill place to be with soft leather couches, music in the background with videos, and laminate wood flooring.

I do not like it and I will not return since the person who cut my hair did not cut it as I wanted and the next person arrived and said we are done, in the end I had to fix it at home since I did not like how it looked

I looked for a barbershop in Waterloo and found many inconsistent and/or pricy locations. Ash always does a good job. The professional and clean atmosphere of this barbershop makes it the place to go in KW. I have never had a bad cut from him here.

I went to Waterloo for five years for undergrad and spent the first four years hunting for a barber. During that time I had a lot of decent and okay haircuts.

Headline barber is the only place I found where I could get a good, if not amazing (and it was mostly amazing), haircut everytime. Each member of their staff is friendly or funny and can deliver a good cut.

10/10 would recommend to any students in the area

I have tried so many barbers and I love this place! They do a very thorough cut and they did exactly what I asked for. My youngest son has autism and both times they handled him with so much compassion and care. My son will sit for them no problem now. Thank you for your candor and for your excellent barber skills ️

SORRY BUT-
Try and find anybody with a pair of scissors to cut your hair for you. I went in and looked at the barber who had a military style haircut. Hair on top and nothing on the sides. I told him what i was looking for, a little trim. He immediately took out his clippers and cut my hair to match his style. Using clippers to perform a haircut is like using a chainsaw to cut cheese. Won't be back!

Decent haircut but wouldn't go if you actually have something specific in mind.

Mine was cut shorter than I asked and the guy made decisions with the cut without asking me for my preference. The haircut is fine but not what I wanted as I didn't have much say in it beyond the beginning.

I have been coming to this place from 2 years now and have been getting a good haircut. Only this time there was a small mistake made. The haircut was a little uneven in the front which was cut too short. The hair cut in front was not in straight line as my hair is of different type. My hair will stand up a bit not contacting the forehead. So if hair is pushed too down while cutting then it will appear shorter. I waited for two week for the hair to grow long again and fixed the haircut at home. The neck line was also not done. But, it is a nice place and barbers are very friendly. Only make sure to thoroughly convey the type of haircut you want from start to prevent any misconceptions.
