Went in for a same-day appointment to get a stye looked at and ended up getting a major treatment for my eye health. Dr. Liang noticed additional damage to my eyes that had been long neglected and was able to do a procedure for it by the afternoon that will help me long-term. He explained the issues, risks, and recommendations in a way I could easily understand without making me feel pressured or overwhelmed. Though expensive (unfortunately, due to the nature of the treatment), I felt confident going through with it and it was quick and comfortable. Appreciated the care and clarity from both doc and front desk staff. Thanks!

Philmona is a god sent blessing, already back for my second pair of beautiful sunglasses. Such a great experience meeting the staff everyone is so delightful! Highly recommend. This is my optical home:)

I visited the Optometrist for an eye exam and to purchase a pair of glasses. The Dr. Was very nice and helpful. The receptionist was nice, very patient and informative. She took the time in helping me find the perfect pair of glasses. Thank you

The optometrist was very knowledgeable and very kind. It's sad but I had to give a low rating to the assistants. I would appreciate it more if they would properly sanitize the machines before using them. Also, I am hoping that the assistants could be more friendly next time. I hope this feedback would help the clinic to improve. Thank you.

**Dr. Liang's staff referred me to the wrong eye specialist. It took me over 2+ hours on public transit (west of Jane-Finch). They were supposed to refer me to the Yonge-Sheppard location, as written on Dr. Liang's business card by the desk staff. If you book an appointment, please be extra wary of a lack of detail on their part in referring you to the right specialist. ***

While I initially had a great experience with Dr. Liang for my annual check-up, he referred me to an eye specialist on Sept 7th. The eye specialist didn't reach out to me until mid-November after I followed up with Dr. Liang's office. The wait wasn't the issue.

Where I am removing a star is because while I understand Dr. Liang's office and the specialist's office are merely facilitating the appointment, I had questions on what was covered by OHIP vs.what tests were out of pocket expenses. Dr. Liang was able to answer my questions on Sept 7th but his desk staff weren't able to answer very similar questions on coverage and the North Toronto desk staff was also unhelpful (it took a lot more questions to finally grasp what they were saying). I would have appreciated if someone was able to answer my questions more directly and succinctly instead of being volleyed back and forth.

Everyone here is amazing. Dr. Liang was quick and efficient, and the ladies at the front were so patient and helped me pick out my glasses. They took their time and stayed back to help me out with pricing. I got an amazing deal on Tom Ford sunglasses. Thank you so much. I will for sure be back.

I have a really hard time finding glasses and usually dread the process. Philmona was extremely patient and determined to make sure I found exactly what I was looking for. The level of customer service received from Philmona was awesome and made my experience an enjoyable one.

About a month ago, I went to this place to get my contact lense prescription and little did I know, this would turn into absolutely the most terrible customer service experience I have ever had.

It was a Saturday afternoon. I went in and got my eyes tested. Despite all the upsell, the whole process was okay. I did feel uncomfortable when the staff tried so hard to sell me this heated eye mask along with other ancillary things that I could buy for half the price at other places.

The clinic sent me the prescription but only for the glasses not for the contact lenses. So I followed up through email asking for the contact lense prescription as well as the scan of meibography (which now I felt like I have been upsold on this. None of my previous optometrists needed a meibography to confirm that my eyes are dry).

It took the clinic over an entire week to get back to me in email. They attached a contact lense prescription with no doctor signature. Naturally, I asked for Dr. Law’s signature. One day, the clinic suddenly called me telling me that by the law of Ontario, the doctor cannot sign the contact lense prescription without doing a contact lense fitting on me. I was speechless: isn’t that what the whole appointment was about?

Apparently Dr. Law and the staff ASSUMED that I’m ordering contact lense in Ontario (which requires no updated prescription) so they didn’t inform me that if I do need to order contact lenses outside Ontario, I need to pay extra for another appointment.

The staff kept telling me that I could order contact lenses in Ontario without an updated prescription with the doctor’s signature. And when I told the staff that for the places I used to get my contact lenses in QC or NY, they always ask for an updated contact lense prescription within the last 12 months, the staff said she didn’t know what’re the rules in other places but she can’t break the law at here.

That sentence was the last straw that broke the camel’s back. In no way was I asking them to break the law of providing me with a contact lense prescription without having done the fitting. All I asked was a solution to repair my horrifying experience. I already spent time and money to be in the clinic on that Saturday afternoon and went through this painfully slow communication chain with their clinic. In the end, I didn’t even get the only service that I came here for. I was extremely upset and asked to speak with the doctor.

Finally, I spoke with the doctor on December 30. She iterated the same things the staff has told me before and apologized. She offered a month of free contact lense but said I still needed to come back to the clinic to pay for the contact lenses prescription if I want it. At that point I just said no thank you. The last thing I want is to have free contact lenses shipped to me by the very clinic in which I had such a traumatic experience. It’s not about the money, it’s about the way I (and potentially other customers) was treated. Offering a month of free contact lenses cannot right the wrong. The sunk cost of time cannot be measured. I was misinformed, went through delayed communication, pushy upsell strategy, had to deal with staff with no emphatic/problem solving attitude to customers…

To sum up, there are three main things that went wrong:
1. First of all, when I called the clinic to book my appointment, I specifically said that I want to get a new contact lense prescription. This message wasn’t delivered
2. Secondly, during the appointment, Dr. Law never mentioned that the contact lense prescription will be a surcharge with another appointment. She said she was saving money for me but I rather be clearly informed
3. Lastly, the constant upsell and unempathetic attitude by one of the staffs at the cashier just turned the bad experience to a whole other level

I rarely post review but I wrote this long comment so that other people wouldn’t have to go through the same troublesome experience as I did. I would have given a zero star but unfortunately Google doesn’t have the option.

Everything about this office is incredible. My appointment with Dr. Liang was quick and efficient- I felt safe, supported and that my sight was in good hands. I can’t stress this enough, what a great place to be. Indeed I would highly recommend for those who looking for well skilled and experienced Optometry Team. Visited Dr Liang for an eye exam and the service was great. Both the Dr and his receptionist were super helpful, informative and friendly. Absolutely great experience and now finally I have found a regular Optometrist that does a great job!

My experience was fine. However, I have now just noticed that the optometrist only made my prescription valid for one year as opposed to two and a regular benefit coverage only covers optometry appointments once every two benefit years. My glasses have broken and they will not accept my prescription to get new ones because of the one year expiry, which has now passed. So now I am stuck in a position to have to pay 100% for an optometry appointment since my benefits have not renewed yet or use my broken glasses for another 4 months. Not impressed with their one year expiry to try to increase their business. Will not be going back as this will continue to put me in a difficult position.

I have had nothing but a great experience here. The Optometry is extremely nice & cares a lot about his patients eye health. Takes the extra step to make sure his patience feel comfortable. The glasses choice they have are amazing. From Tom Ford to Kate Spade, budgets for all types. They are super fast with getting your glasses ready, takes 2-3 days. The lady at the front is very welcoming and makes you feel very comfortable. Love my visit here and will definitely recommend!

I dont often do reviews but this one I had to. Valerie and Dr Andrew Liang were so helpful patient and informative. Dr Liang informed me of a condition I didnt know I had and should have been picked up on a previous eye test at another optometry clinic. I would highly recommend this place they are amazing. Cannot rate them enough
