Heart & Crown - Preston Street

Staff is FABULOUS. I am local and come a few times a week. Service is always great. I felt uncomfy at close one night because a man was being overbearing, and security was more than happy to walk me to my Uber, chatted with me.

They recently started carrying Glutenberg which makes me so happy as a person with celiac! I just hope one day they’ll have a few more solid gluten free food options to be more inclusive.even chips + salsa, or just an option that isn’t made in the deep fryer with other foods would be so good.being able to go out for a night and not just drink, but have a solid option to eat would be so nice! Maybe a 100% gf (no fried) chips + guac or something would be amazing!

Located at the heart of Little Italy, I really enjoyed their house beer which is also at a great price. Wings and Nachos were so good as well! It's definitely not my first visit of this location but I did not want to miss out leaving an excellent review.

Nice place with "Full Friendly" service. Hit the Snug if you can, that's where it's at.
Update July '23: best pierogies ever!

I would have given a 5 if I had been charged the correct amount for my 3 mojitos. Waitress charged me $13 per mojito instead of $9 for the regular mojito (which I asked without sugar). You have 2 types of mojitos and I clearly had the regular one. I only noticed after my partner paid and looked at the bill when I got home! Really disappointing … it’s the principal of the thing.
Other than that the food was very good, atmosphere is wonderful and staff is great

We enjoyed our meal. We ordered Chicken Curry and Shepards Pie. Both were quite good. Sat on the patio as the music inside was way too loud. It was a one person show which we might have enjoyed if it had been lower. Our drinks were good and our server was friendly and attentive. Overall, enjoyed the experience

They have an IPA and Amber ale for $5! The brews are from Big Rigs and of course quite good. FIVE BUCKS! What a treat. After all these liberal taxes I call them the anti liberal brew. Well done Heart and Crown!

Sat at the bar, Daria was lovely. Put up with me the whole afternoon.
Had the Harry Larry Caesar (may be spelt wrong), it changed my life, with it's 101 snacks attached (@DARIA I APPRECIATE YOU MAKING IT FOR ME!)

Service is slow. Food is average and a bit pricey for such small portions. You would expect larger portions with it being a pub.

Great place, but this review is for Clare who always seems to be making 5 drinks in one go, holding 10 conversations, all with a smile and great service. Clare’s like a unicorn bartender, you didn’t know they still existed.

Had a terrific evening with FabRe entertaining us patrons along with excellent service and refreshing beverages.
I recommend this hidden gem in and among all the fabulous Italian restaurants!

This is a must visit place, the food is amazing, waitress super friendly and efficient! This is another old Ottawa pub that’s a place you have to see if visiting Ottawa. 100% recommended!

Just got back from lunch, very friendly staff, nice atmosphere and the seafood chowder was amazing, easily one of the best I've had! My wife didn't want to go to a "pub" for lunch, man did she miss out. I'm definitely coming back.

Great food! I had the bacon cheeseburger with fries. The burger was fantastic and the fries were perfect. I usually prefer thin fries but the thick cut fries here were perfectly done with good crispness on the outside but soft in the inside.

Hey! Want a bar that will overcharge you for a simple cocktail? Want a bar that will not make you a good cocktail for $20? One of my favourite places in the market. I go there every time I'm in Ottawa. Good food, great atmosphere and good live music

Summary: Good experience and staff, high quality draught and fried fish, but still a little overpriced (even in today's economy), and a very stingy portion of fries.

Came here for fish & chips and a couple pints. Staff was great. No problem changing the channel on our closest TV from the Sens game to the Leafs. Beer was pricey, about $9 for a 20oz pint before tip, but it was proper draught (Collective Arts). Fish was also very pricey, but excellent. The batter was perfect. Coleslaw and tartar sauce were good. Fries were a bit strange; sort of a whipped texture to them, definitely not fresh cut.still enjoyable, though. My biggest gripe was that there were literally about 15 fries.

I like coming to this Heart & Crown. With good pub food, regular live music, and fun atmosphere, it is a great place to hang out with family and friends. On my latest outing I took my family and all of us had a wonderful time.

Everyone seemed to be having a blast at this place.
I recommend earplugs if you are sitting close to the band.

The least Irish bar in Canada. If you've been to Ireland and know how they roll when it comes to hospitality and drink, you'll probably be dispointed here. 20 years of coming to the H&C, 18 of those only cause i was dragged here
