I'd like to share my unhappy purchasing experience at the Woodbridge store last week. I went to sell my lens. The salesperson told me that if I wanted to make a new purchase using my credit, I could avoid paying taxes, but if I bought later, I'd have to pay taxes. At that time, I ended up buying a Fujifilm XT5 that was an open-box item. The salesperson claimed it was new, but it was evident that someone had handled it. There were fingerprints on the screen, and it was in an "on" state with a drained battery. The salesperson insisted they could show it to customers, but it was still considered new. Without thinking too much, I paid for it.

Today, I went to the Thornhill store to sell my camera. I asked the store employee there, and they said there's no such tax-saving policy. Furthermore, they shouldn't be telling customers this way. I understand that you're in the business of selling products, but please don't mislead consumers. Additionally, selling open-box items as new and then declaring them as "final sale" is questionable. I'm not sure if this is how your staff is trained

Went in yesterday. Spoke to an older gentleman and the experience was simply amazing. I’m getting into film and he broke it down for me. Learned a lot. Henry’s has always be great but this experience was simply the best one I have ever had. Would recommend anyone getting into film to come to this Henry’s!

Store well laid out, staff really knowledgeable. Store does not really scream camera equipment as of old. Looks more boutique or jewelry store. Lots of, if not all equipment behind glass or locked up in cases. Understandably for security reasons, expensive equipment but would be nice to have some tangible demo equipment out for customers to experience. Sorry a bit too sterile.

Came here to print out some wedding photos. The process was quick and easy and the quality was just stunning. I love the size options for photos. The store was clean and I appreciated the layout. Will definitely come back again!

If I could rate Henry’s a zero, I would. I used to accept the fact that I would shop at Henry’s despite it being more expensive vs other stores because of their higher quality of goods and decent customer service. I can no longer justify this anymore.

Currently waiting outside the store one hour after its posted opening hours and the store is CLOSED with no notice on the door. Customer service hotline is useless, I’m on hold for 15+ mins and still haven’t spoken to a representative.

In our current state of rising inflation, I would think twice about where you choose to spend your money. Henry’s, you’ve lost a customer out of me. I will no longer be shopping at your store. Your disrespect for customers and their value of time and money is unacceptable.

Can't say enough about the quality of service. I went in just to buy a battery for an older camera, and also to ask some questions about the Nikon DSLR cameras. I was lucky to be helped by Chian - hope I spelled her name right. She was patient and knowledgeable and absolutely helpful. How do you get pleasant and professional service in a pandemic, when you can't even see the face of the person serving you because we have to wear masks? By going to Henry's and being fortunate enough to be helped by Chian, that's how.

Jim Liu, the temporary Manager at the Woodbridge store has been extremely helpful in getting the Henry's lab to reprint some flawed aluminum photo panels, that we dropped off just before the store was closed due to COVID-19 in March. He really has provided a level of customer service far superior to the previous staff at the store and we hope Jim has a bright future with the organization he represents.

Walked in looking to buy a FujiFilm X-T30, noticed there was a price difference between their in store product and online stock. Let them know and they updated their store prices and sold me the camera at the lower price.

I came into this location seeking out a woman by the name of CJ. I sought her specifically because the last time I had come in, more than a year earlier, I was recommended to talk to her about Nikon and my camera questions, by some of the other associates at the store.

The quality of both my encounters with her cannot be understated. She is as fantastic of a store employee as she is simply a person to talk to about cameras. I would be hard-pressed to overstate how impressed I am by her engagement with customers, and by her willingness to help people, and by her enthusiasm for photography.

I spoke with her for over an hour in both encounters. At no point did i ever feel like I was taking too much of her time, or like I needed to cut the conversation short. She engaged with the conversation, and provided real insight.

I have never spoken to a person at -ANY- store, ever in my life, who was as welcoming, engaging, intelligent, and kind as CJ. While a part of me wants her to be given a head-office job for the increased pay, and because she deserves it, another part of me knows that the store would be infinitely the worse for the loss of her in it.

I asked question after question after hypothetical question about my Nikon camera, and portrait lens choices; Nikon 105mm Macro or 85mm f1.8? 105mm Macro or 105mm Defocus Control? 85mm f1.8 or 1.4? A macro lens for shooting portraits, or a dedicated portrait lens? The advantages of having wider maximum apertures considering the disadvantages of shooting past f5.6? A. I. -Enhanced photo upscalling? Ray-Path analysis camera sensors? We talked about it all.

CJ is a phenomenal employee and a great person. The quality of this Henry's camera store, and the integrity of my entire review, rests on her shoulders. If you shoot Nikon, or Cannon, come and speak to CJ.

Amazing amazing! I had the best customer experience from the staff member Stephanie, who through out the entire experience never once told me she was the manager, she was extremely humble and so dedicated to helping me understand what camera would best suit my needs. You don’t find such pride and passion to helping customers now a days. I will definitely be going back for all my other camera needs. I just hope that Stephanie will be there. If you are new to the camera industry I would highly recommend seeking out Stephanie to assist you with your camera needs or wants. Henry’s if you are reading this, do not loose such a highly customer centric associate. Now let’s talk about the store, there is so much that for a novice buyer like me I was overwhelmed and slightly anxious but I was guided accordingly and I feel my purchase will immerse me into the world of cameras. Henry’s also offers classes on Thursday’s to help individuals like myself to learn about the types and modes of cameras. Overall excellent service.

Beautiful location, most staff know their product. If they don't have it in store they can usually get it within a few days. Ask for Mike if you have video/Sony questions, and Vinay if you have lighting/portrait questions.

I’ve walked in a few times, never have I received the service that I did today with CJ. Not only was she willing and able to answer all of my questions, no matter how simple or how in depth they were, she took the time to fully explain things without being pushy or judgemental. I truly appreciate her time and effort and will definitely be returning to Henry’s Vaughan! As a newbie, it’s so comforting to be able to ask someone for help without feeling inept.

I had some difficulties using one of the kiosks in a project I was trying to create at the Henry's Woodbridge location last week. CJ came to the rescue and helped me all the way until closing time. That shows you her dedication, expertise and helpfulness. She truly is so friendly, professional and the most knowledgeable person I have ever met in photography. She is very young but you would also think you are speaking with an eighty year old person because she knows things of photography that no one her age or even middle age would know. Her knowledge of older cameras from all over the world is second to none. She truly is an asset to the store and is why that from now on I will only go to the Woodbridge location. Thank you CJ for all your help.

Terrible service!

I went today to take a passport photo - very unprofessional setup at a corner no proper equipment whatsoever. After the photo was taken, the girl assisting me hooked up the USB to the computer to print the photos and for some reason it wouldn’t work.

This place is so bad and very expensive ($20 for 2 printed photos and extra if I want a digital copy) are you serious? ! Nothing is working properly guys.

You sell all kind of high tech cameras and you can’t offer a proper studio or service? It wasn’t the girl’s fault, she was doing her job and she really tried her best to get the USB to work.

This store needs to look into its technicial problems, thanks wont come again.

I'm a first time visitor to Henrys and was looking to purchase my first DSLR. I don't know a lot about cameras but I heard about Henry's expertise and was looking forward to walking home with my first camera. This location is gorgeous, modern and has lots of tech on display.

Unfortunately the associate helping me, CJ, was too much of a help. She talked my ear off for well over 20 minutes and seemed to have a lot of trouble staying on topic. I could barely get a word in! A lot of her sales pitch included personal information which sometimes I found too personally and unrelated. My attempts to steer the conversation back on track failed miserably.

Needless to say I left the store empty handed. I feel bad for her colleagues who must have to deal with this daily. In the time we spent together they helped several customers quickly and efficiently.

I will try my luck at another Henry's. It seems that I picked the short straw on the associate I got this time around.

Went in to get european passport photos done - they charge 19.99 for two, but the machine prints 6 to a sheet. I asked them what they would do with the extra 4 pics and they said they throw them out. I said, since they are already printed and rather then waste the paper can I have the extra 4 that would be thrown out? They said no, I will have to pay if I want them. So basically, they would rather waste ink and paper and create trash rather then having a customer finding a good use for what would be garbage to them. Company obviously doesn't care about recycling or creating waste - and they certainly don't care about their customers. Will never shop there again.
