Ive been ordering online and picking up from this location for ten years. I ordered something and its been three weeks so i called to verify and “cash or cashid” picked up apparently the store manager he claimed and i gave him the confirmation number i got online but he said the number starts with “S” but anyways I gave him the number he just told me to call customer service and I said just check for me because they always only have a few items there and its easy to find like they have been for years for me. Then he got upset and started yelling on the phone so i told him why are you telling and he hangs up? ! I drive to the store within five minutes and confronted him why he hung up and he acted like he didnt know at first then said because i confronted him he hung up. Then I said just check for me and he refused and said I was harassing him and that he will call the police. Haha this Casheed is a total coward, he was all aggressive on the phone but when I showed up to the store he said he has cameras (no sh&t its a camera store) that are recording and he will call the cops. Then the asian guy came over took down the same number i was trying to give to casheed and figured it out, it was ordered three weeks ago. It took him two minutes to do what I initially was asking for from Cash. I wasnt asking for him to bend over backwards just to check if an order had come in? ! Will never return to this store again.
Took my 6 months old baby for her first passport photo, Jeffrey is great and professional. Highly recommend for parents who need photos taken for their infants!
I'm unsure if I've already submitted a recent rating. Anyway, I this place. So happy to find a photo place that replaces Walmart. I'm not going to get into how unreliable the Walmarts Photo Dpmt is. Let me just sing Henry's praises: 1. They actually pick up the phone. How rare is that? 2. They have Customer Service that's available and knows what they are doing. 3. Their photo machines work. 4. Their photo prints are of superior quality to Walmarts. 5. Their prices for prints are close enough. (I didn't notice a difference cause I was so impressed with 1 to 4). 6. All 3 machines at the Wallmart at Promenade were shut down. I drove there for nothing. I called several times beforehand, but neither Customer Service nor the Photo department would pick up. Not the first time but definitely the lady for me.
We thought we had a scratch on our SLR lens. Jeff had a look and said it was just a smudge, which commonly happens in the PNW. He thoroughly cleaned the lens, viewfinder, and all the moving parts while teaching us all about how to look after the camera, free of charge! Will definitely be shopping here again for our camera needs.
I went this store 2 weeks ago to buy a camera backpack, the gentleman's name was BENNY, I think, he is one of the best, full of knowledge in the industry, so friendly, amazingly polite, the best in helping and the most trustee to consult. I am so happy to know him and this place will be my camera store after this. I recommend for all my friends and I really really appreciate " BENNY " for his caring, helping and his amazing knowledge. Thank you so much BENNY & your staff, you guys are wonderful.
This is the second time I buy from them. Their products are old and smell bad. When I told them, they don't care. I will never buy from them again. Their attitude is very bad.
Got an Insta360 camera with full Henry's warranty, when sent in for repairs came back as is, with no explanation. Sent back for repairs again, months of wait time, no updates or responses. Never buy the warranty if it's going to be this useless
Honestly, my first and only visit sucked here. Upon walking into this store to make a lens purchase I greeted the sales person and was not greeted at all. I had to repeat myself twice to get a response. Then I asked for the specific lens that I was looking for and immediately was told that they do not have it. After telling me that I said okay and nothing else was offered in obtaining the camera lens I wanted. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who expects somewhat decent customer service.
TERRIBLE SERVICE Dropped of a disposable camera to be developed in May, and it is now almost December and still no sign of my photos. Went back multiple times for updates and only received rude and unhelpful service. All they say is wait on the email lol—but almost 7 months wait is ridiculous. One time the employee (the only friendly one so far) said he would send an email to their developing facility and cc me, and he never ended up sending the email. I’m convinced I’ll never be getting back these photos.
Photo printer at this shop only takes jpeg files (for instant printing), no tiffs.already down 1 star.the (asian) manager reluctant to help despite having only one other customer in store.the other guy was actually trying to see if he could help us but said that it was the other guys call.and he again, just didnt want to.all i wanted done was 15 pictures printed in 4x6 photo paper.down 2 star.also according to the staff, lab prints take 1-2 weeks? Thats gotta deserve another 1 star down.
No longer good. Took my digital Nikon 7000 we bought from that store for advice on focus settings. Employee would not look at it. He said they no longer give advice because they do not know all the cameras and because they do not have enough staff. He said to go to Nikon or a repair business. We were the first customer on a Tuesday so they were not busy. Huge change from 2 years ago when you got great face to face service as a trade off for a higher purchase price. Bought cameras from Henry's since 1980. We will be buying on line now just looking for the lowest price in the future.
A camera shops, they have lenses, tripods of different sizes the photo developer machine is great, photos made clearly the associates were helpful and nice
Got passport photos taken here for $20. I would recommend getting them done here. I also appreciate the knowledge of experts who gave me information on getting my rolls of 35mm film developed. Thank you!
This store saved me before a shoot! I was looking for a backdrop and they were the only store open till 7pm. Great customer service, ordered over the phone and picked up in a minute. Very friendly and helpful
Bought my first camera at Henry's in my teens. Glad to see they are still around and helping people with their photography needs. Experience, expertise and great selection. My go to camera store.
Shawn and Jeff are wonderfully honest and helpful. They'll even tell you when something is not worth it despite losing out on sales. Particularly when you want to try camera's and lenses that are $3k plus since those are things I wouldn't buy online without touching first. While I still use online shopping for quick urgent items, whenever I can I would recommend supporting your local shop so you have local expertise available, especially when they're run by people like Shawn and Jeff.
Great customer service! Thank you Shawn and your amazing team for your assistance this weekend. You’ve fixed my camera lens that I thought was garbage. Very knowledgeable, kind, patient and helpful staff! This is why I’ve been going to Henry’s Thornhill location for over 20 years. Keep up the great work!
Went in for a friends and family sale - webpage sent me to 119 Church Street on day it was closed (Sunday) drove up to this location and they didn't know what I was talking about. Later purchased a boxing day sale item also as I wanted to support Canadian companies during the pandemic almost a month later and still no item.regrets! That's two unfavorable transactions back to back. All my amazon purchases during the holidays have arrived and were exactly what I was expecting, now I understand how amazon kills companies as I am starting to prefer them.
Worst. As an old customer, I am very disappointed with how henrys are turning into. Only two people working in the call Center and charge twice for one order.
As you all know I am a Shutterbuger at heart and the more knowledge I can get that helps me a great deal with my photography wonderful service respectful staff thanks Henry's.
As we all have experienced bad service in many places we have bought items from. I am pleased to say that the customer service at Henry's is exceptional! Employees are curious and very helpful and know their products. Great customer service!
After going to several places to take the baby passport photo, we finally came to Henry's. Shawn was really nice and helpful, and the experience was very pleasant. Would definitely recommend!
AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE. David at the Thornhill location went well above and beyond to make my purchase of a used DSLR as smooth as possible. Extremely informative and helpful through the whole process, and I am more than happy to return here for future business. Thanks again David!
Henry's is one of those go to places for photography. They really know their stuff, although the downtown location is still THE place to go, or else Vistek if you're more of a serious amateur/pro.
Needed a repair to my tripod, and they were very helpful.
Went to buy a new camera which they had in stock. I got to the store and had to wait because they were only limiting customers at a time. Jeff helped us check out and paid full price for the camera. I got home and opened the box, the first thing I noticed is that the lens had quite Abit of dust. The battery was in the camera and not wrapped in plastic. I took the camera out of the box and started inspecting the body, that's when I started noticing scratches all along the side and at the bottom of the camera. By this time the store was already closed and had to wait for the following day.
The next morning I called the store and the person answered the phone said to bring the camera in to inspect it, he said it's possible the camera was used before.
I will never EVER shop at henrys again because of this poor experience. I was able to purchase the camera at a competitor for a lower price AND new.
Called ahead to check stock on a camera which they had confirmed. Drive from downtown Toronto to pick it up only to find out that they sold me a USED camera at new camera price. Had to drive back to return it and hear excuses about how they were short staffed and really busy. They had 3 customers in the shop being served by 3 employees - clearly super ‘swamped and multitasking’. Terrible service and terrible attitude. Don’t bother and go to BestBuy!
Always helpful and friendly. The staff are well knowledged in everything camera related and have always helped me pick out what camera and lens works for me
Had a very pleasant experience at this location after a horrible one at the Woodbridge location. Associate Jeff greeted and helped us and was fantastic the entire time, you can definitely see his passion for the business. We were looking for a camera bag and he provided a bunch of recommendations, and also provided a fantastic recommendation on a tripod. He did not over sell and choose a cost efficient one based on our needs. We were very impressed by his sincerity and patience. We will definitely be returning in the future to pick up a lens.
I've been to multiple Henrys but this one is closest to home. They're staff are always helpful and eager to help. Their prices are a little high but for the service they always try to match you with the perfect camera or lens you want. You can read and watch alot of reviews but alot are very biased and sponsored. Henrys employees are there because they want to sell you a camera. They technically have all brands to their disposal to sell to you.
Great service today from a Worker named David. The gentleman was very helpful and knowledgeable. He help me decide on the camera I needed, and was very honest and considerate to my budget. Thank you for great service and I will definitely come back again!
This camera store is a great place for all photographers and videographers to shop! They sell DSLR and mirrorless cameras along with compatible lenses. You can also purchase lightboxes and softboxes here. This is also a great place for camera bags and other accessories such as remote controls to replace you shutter and also printers for your photos. Also, you may buy neutral density, polarizers and even more filters for your lens. Some other products they are are tripods and monopods. You may buy memory cards here as well. They really have a great variety of products and I would recommend this store to all Canadian photographers as this is truly the best camera store in Canada.
Definitely the best camera shop in Toronto! The staffs are very welcoming and professional. The price is the lowest in town! I purchased a Fujifilm XT3 and a 56mm lens from them, and will visit again for my next camera:) Thank you!
Aurora, Jeff, Alfred, Ben and many more names to be listed. I've been Henry's client for a long time and I absolutely love their price and service. Highly recommended
Best Camera store in all of Canada, the people working there are so informative and help guide you to make the right purchase, it's so rare to find such stores but there is one at Henry's Thornhill:)
Tons of stores and online sites out there and all offer competitive prices. Henry's will price match and beat it. This is not really why I appreciate this location. I am a camera enthusiast and over the years, my shooting style, subjects and gears have changed. It is nice to know that there is a store like this one where you can go friendly service and get the expert assistance that you need. They are not just general salespeople trying to sell you products. Thanks to David and his team.
Huge selection of models on display. Very knowledgeable and friendly stuff. Limited stock of used gear though. But you can get really high level gear there. Parking sometimes limited but huge parking lot of Toys R Us is a minute of walk away.
I was greeted at the entrance (star one) I was left alone to browse around the store (second star) I found what I was looking for (third star) The salesman was available right away at the check out (fourth star) We had a nice chat about weather and upcoming Chinese new year (fifth star) So, yes, five star experience!
Great service! Friendly staff. A nice lady there helped me. Forgot to ask her name. Good thing to note is that they will beat competitors price by 10%. Support a Canadian local company!
This is the very best Henry's in GTA. Never been in downtown stores, but this one is much better than others in GTA erea. Great selection of everything. Especially you can find almost any type of printing paper you're looking for. Their Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable as well. A young guy works there (I guess his name is Nicolas - NOT sure) - He's the BEST!
Friendly staff, maybe a good place if you want to buy cameras. But definitely not the place to sell your lens/camera. They wanted $100 for my brand new lens. That came as a shock. I took the lens to downtown camera store they offered $210 for the lens. They clearly don't know what they are doing.
