Herb's Travel Plaza

Cannot extend my thanks enough to Herb's for allowing my friends and I to shelter from a wicked snowstorm on our way home to Ottawa from Montreal! The staff were incredibly welcoming and tolerable of our longer-than-anticipated stay while we waited out the weather. If I could offer an 11/10 review, I would!

Good meals, very friendly staff, good place to park overnight and get some breakfast, clean showers and etc… An unmissable stop

Stopped tonight for the first time at this place. My medium cooked 8 oz stake was amazing. Complements to the chef. Will stop by again! Thank you!

I’ve always wanted to stop here on my many trips back and forth to Montreal just to check it out. I finally did and it was a pleasant stop for sure. About half way between Ottawa and Montreal it provides all your road travel needs. The gas price was 20 cents cheaper than Montreal and the convenience store has everything you need not to mention the restaurant if you’re feeling like a meal. I will stop more often.

Very quaint Travel restaurant. We had brunch and dinner here twice. And we definitely recommend!

The positives:
- The servers are very pleasant, and attentive.
- The food is very fresh. We bought yogurt and fruits, and even those were chopped fresh and not served from a can.
- The prices are very affordable. Will not break the bank.

Cons.
- It is kinda in the middle of nowhere. We’ve been driving all past this place for years on the highway from Montreal to Ottawa. So getting there if you’re not enroute is a bit of a reach.
- It gets pretty busy on the weekend. But only because it’s pretty good!

Epic fail tonight. Too bad. This WAS my go to spot.

Service was horrible. Cold soup. Burnt sandwich.

I rolled thru here a couple days ago and ordered their steak to go. I just had to leave a review because that was the best steak I’ve ever had as far as I can remember. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked to medium rare, high quality cut with NO gristle. Sides were great and good portions. I can’t wait to eat here again on my journeys! Great job Herb’s you’ve just become my #1 truck stop!

Unbelievable that this truck stop would help the government remove peaceful protesters. I could not believe my eyes when I saw their big yellow wrecker in Ottawa hooking up to the trucks. Probably stopped in this travel plaza 15 or 20 times a year. This truck driver will never ever ever set foot in this business again for the rest of my career

Any place that is a home to the #Flutruxclan doesn't even deserve one star. Seriously.ick. Congrats on your new Ram Ranch Motel though. ;-)

This is a poorly managed business. Management is aware of the parking lot dangers and the facility is tattered and worn. Keep moving for gas snacks and food.

Herb's is a real classic truck stop. The food is good, warm and fresh. If you think of going there only for a birthday 'free meal" once a year and only go there for that promotion, in my honest opinion people like these should stay home, permanently.

Herb has everything you could need and is a Hub and a Home away from Home for Truckers. On top of it Herb's has his heavy hauling and towing services, truck mechanic repairs.

Herb's is a Canadian Icon for truckers and is well respected and a place I would call friend. He's a local business and support the area of Vankleek Hill and is a perfect spot for all travellers to go visit.

Clean, well stocked and just what you need for your needs while driving. On site you will find a laundry, a restaurant and a general store. It’s nice to be able to stop, fill up and have a bio break in a space that’s clean. You will find sandwiches and cold pizza and fully stocked refrigerators. Great place to stop. ***I had no issues so I would consider this a reasonable safe LBGTQ location

First time there food was great but service terrible waited almost 20 minutes for the bill waitress have a nice talk all that time at one table and none of the 4 other people could take my payment really

This is the best rest stop anywhere! The staff/owners are super friendly. The food is good, and it has truck stop amenities.

Even the shopping is good. They sell everything from shoes to bathroom necessities. Some of it's handmade, some is your typical gas station stuff, and some is just really neat.

Super helpful! We were having trouble with their air pump and Alex stopped plowing to help us fill up at the garage. Much appreciated!

Excellent food. Fair prices. Shower rooms are clean and very well kept. All around an awesome place to stop in for food, fuel, shower and snacks. Will definitely be back again!

Belle place, beau resto, patates maison. Pizza semble être fait comme au quebec, ca parle français, les toilettes sont pas super propre j’ai préféré m’abstenir dy aller ceux qui trainent leur produit et leur scott towel ce sera nécessaire pour aller au toilette convenablement

Everything about this place is great. Fuel price, best showers I've seen, food is great, service, friendly staff. The store has stuff you won't see other places. A good end to my day. You won't be disappointed.

Not the best food or the best service it’s a truck stop so I guess it’s a reasonable restaurant.

Always a great place for a bite to eat! They have good specials, their pizza is delicious and they put a lot of curds on their poutines. The staff members are always very friendly and accommodating!

Lots 3truck parking. Very good selection of convenience items in the store. They do have St Albert cheese whiExcellent looking menu. Ordered the Herb burger and poutine. Burger is a classic diner burger. Poutine is very good, nice flavour, excellent cheese curd.

Excellent reliable food, plus a decent size Trucker store. I have been a dozen times and the service is always amazing

Tonight for dinner we had Lasagna, Chicken Wings and the Truckers Breakfast. All excellent. Highly recommended

Tout comme la sortie 145 de l'A-20 mène au BIG STOP au Québec, la sortie 27 de l'A-417 (Ottawa - Montréal) mène à Herb's Stop et aux meilleurs prix pour l'essence dans le nord de l'Ontario. Une différence de 0.10$/litre par rapport aux prix d'Ottawa et sa banlieue.
Herb's est tout un complexe avec station, dépanneur, restaurant, remorquage, etc. Un must lorsque vous faites le trajet Mtl - YOW - Mtl, dans un sens ou dans l'autre.
Personnel très souriant et efficace.

Usually the family stop here on the way to Ottawa/Gatineau area for cheap gas & to stretch the legs. But this truck stop right off the 417 has so much more to offer. Big convenient store with restaurant, clean bathrooms (including showers for the working folk on the move) and a helpful/friendly staff. This is all available 24/7! A must to and fro during your travels.

Herb's Truck Stop, love the home made food and the home away from home feeling! The Herb's Poutine is a classic!

In the distance of 96 km from Montreal on the intersection of Hwy 34 and 417, very need location with big rest area, clean washroom, convenient C-store and a restaurant. It opens 7 days/week, 24 hours a day including Christmas and New Years. Our family very often makes a stop here, especially when we are travelling with kids.

Cheapest fuel around. Friendly service from C store staff. Awesome service in the restaurant. Clean showers.

Great food, washrooms are a little small, but they have amenities that lots of other places don't have. (shower&laundry)
