Everything is overpriced than Oakville. I'm living in Oakville and our grocery shop cheaper than here. It's really disappointing. In this season tomatoes 2.76/lb however in Farmboy in Oakville they are 1.67/lb. Thanks guys I'm not stupid.
Little pricey but good quality. Grabbed assorted of fresh vegetables and a cake cake. My god, best carrot cake I’ve every had hands down. Take my money.
Go to place for fresh vegetables and fruits. Just a little bit expensive compared to other supermarkets but the quality of vegetables makes it up. Moreover, it also has an icecream shop inside the building where u can enjoy icecream as well as frozen yogurt.
The Herrle family continues to provide the most delicious strawberries and corn in this region plus they bring in terrific fresh produce all summer long from Ontario farmers. Their store is beautiful, and well complemented by the attached bakery, goods arriving constantly from Anna Mae's, and the Gelato they sell.
This is a seasonal store late May to Halloween. Specialties are fresh produce baked goods from Anna Mae's and corn and pumpkins in the Fall. Not to be missed are on site strawberries or pick your own. Prices are always fair and reasonable. A very popular spot and a customer friendly website. Well worth a visit.
I worked here the summer of 2021 baking part-time. The Herrles are hands down the best people I have ever worked for (I’m 36). They’re kind, patient, understanding and encourage their staff to meet their highest potential. I loved going into work and baking for the day - everyone I worked with was lovely. I highly recommend this place for shopping as well as employment. I’d rather spend my money shopping local any day of the week over product shipped from a different country. Thank you for a great season.
It's the best corn and best selection of fruits. Sure it's uppity but your corn will be fresh and amazing. I also like the gelato and the banana muffins they sell.
They’ve always got tons of fresh delicious produce. Their baked goods are awesome. I dream about their ginger molasses cookies. They sell products from local companies (like the Lancaster Smokehouse!). The little frozen yogurt shop inside is a great addition as well. When I was a kid my family always came here for our halloween pumpkins and would play in their corn maze. This is a great place!
Awesome place to visit. The produce is exceptional. The corn is absolutely scrumptious as were the peaches we bought last week. It feels good to support our local growers! I highly recommend this place
Hey! LOL There's nothing I can keep from you! I'm about to over crowd this sweet Fruit Vegetable Cakes Pies etc. Everything is just fresh and Plump! The worker's are very kind well dressed and the place is super clean! So stay away it all mine! JK
We enjoyed our visit here. We went on the last week of strawberry picking but still found delicious fruits. They also have a market across the road which has really great organic veggies and baked goods. It's a little expensive but the brand organic always has a price tag
My favourite place to shop for vegetables, fruit and baked goods. Family run with the best staff. Always clean and a pleasant experience. Strawberries in the early summer are the best. Corn and more in the fall. Lots of parking and easy to get to. You won't regret a visit to Herrles
Place is really nice and well taken care of. Store is clean and nice but selection is not massive but decent. Prices are really expensive but when i asked they said it is all locally sourced so as long as that is true the price can be understandable. Sweet corn was great and really sweet. Went back to get about 4 dozen for canning. Nice local place. Would like confirmation if all produce here is local and not Toronto Depot produce.
The Farmer's market isn't open everyday.but Herrle's is! When you want fresh produce, especially corn, this is a really good choice. They also carry some frozen wares from other local shops, so it's nice to remember it's really not very far out of town.
Herrles used to be great but now it looks like their produce has gone downhill. The last few times I went, each time there were multiple issues: their potatoes were growing, their onions were growing, peppers were rotting and their strawberries were very sour. I got a basket of strawberries and some were sweet but most were extremely sour. I went today and wanted to buy their corn dip but it was expired! It’s very sad because it’s more expensive than the grocery store but you would get the best produce. It looks like I won’t be coming here anymore. Will try again around corn season but that’s about it.
PYO strawberries is always a fun family activity. Real, fresh and local. The market is also great! Fresh fruits and veggies, homemade baked goods, jams, even delicious gelato. They carry a lot of products from local suppliers (Four All Ice Cream, Grainharvest, etc.) Just an all around wonderful business. I can't recommend Herrle's enough!
Lucky to live near Herrles they have it all; including the best local produce, baking and homemade gelato. Try the hazelnut! They also carry Four All ice cream along with other local foods like Mountain Oak cheeses and Snyder’s turkey sausages. Excellent Chelsea buns, pies and jam too.
Herrle's is one of the gems of Waterloo region. Wonderful farm fresh produce at a reasonable price for it's quality, a variety of baked goods and best of all homemade ice cream and gelato of excellent quality. I have had the ice cream 4 times and every flavour I tried was flavourful, creamy and smooth. It is also just a bit down the road from Costco so it makes a convenient second stop when getting gas or groceries.
Herrles is a longstanding staple in the Waterloo community. It is a wonderful seasonal tradition for our family, a place to enjoy fresh, local produce, and sumptuous baked goods. In the fall, their pumpkin patch and corn maze delight children and adults alike. Do stop by for a very authentic Waterloo experience!
Buy the caramel apple pie. In fact, buy a few and keep them in the freezer. PS: A few of the other pies are accidentally vegan! That is all. (Oh yeah, and don't forget to have some gelato while you're at it!)
Wayyyyy overpriced for what you get. Selection was small considering the parking lot was a zoo! $5 mixed greens and they aren't even washed. Really disappointed, waste of time and money.
Always amazing! Would rather shop local when Herrles is open. Better produce, amazing staff and exceptional customer service! I highly recommend Herrles
Lovely. Go here. It's a gem in Waterloo that is generally only known about by word-of-mouth. The produce and baked goods are always fresh, which has been grown and harvested by local farmers. They serve frozen yogurt and homemade gelato. Open seasonally from May to end of October.
Fresh pumpkin pie still warm out of the oven.apples for pie and a giant celery root as big as my head.and they still have fresh corn.yes.on thanksgiving weekend!
When I am able to get out to this store as I do not drive it is always such a treat. Found my gourds for my Thanksgiving center piece at a price you could not find anywhere else. The cobs of corn I purchased were some of the best I have ever had!
Local, farm fresh produce and baked goods. Popular and offer a good variety of produce at great prices. They have an excellent sherbet/sorbet bar. Can’t recall exactly what you’d call it but all I know is. ITS REALLY GOOD! Take the family as they have a corn maze before Halloween and a nice play area. Tons and tone of pumpkins! They close up for the year after Halloween, so get in there!
There was a bustling busyness at my favourite well stocked local market today. The sweet corn, new potatoes, apples, tomatoes, baskets of peaches, raspberries and a myriad of other fruits and vegetables looked so fresh and colourfu and were being constantly replenshed. Checking out was fun and easy. I am always so happy to visit and have started picking up frozen salmon from Caudle's, nitrate free turkey wieners, Gouda cheese, as well as milk and eggs, often making it one stop shopping experience for me. I am looking forward to eating yellow pencilpod beans that remind me of the garden growing up.
Summer does not end without getting fresh sweet corns from Herrle's. We as family enjoy getting fresh local veggies from there until they close for winter. Plus the staff is very friendly which not many businesses have it anymore.
Always clean with fresh, local produce, preserves and baked goods. I've been a loyal customer for a number of years now and only shop elsewhere in the off-season.
They seem to have fresh fruit and veggies but you pay a price for it. 2 star rating was because we bought chelsea buns that were supposedly packaged that day but were really stale. We normally like their baking products here but that was a huge disappointment especially considering the cost. Probably won't make the trip again.
Love this place! I use to live in kitchener and it was my "go to" market. Now I live in Toronto but we will drive always in the summer for their amazing corn. So worth the drive.it is the best corn ever! Plus the atmosphere is great with friendly staff.
What a little hidden gem. Stop in and explore all the beautiful fresh produce and food and the home baked goods. And stop and stay for a delicious frozen yogurt or gelato!
Great location to pick fresh strawberries and check out the family friendly environment. Prices are definitely on the very high side compared to grocery stores. We have cut back on our trips due to the costs.
