Was very unhappy to learn about the surcharges that were on my account upon returning the vehicle. More so unhappy that at the time of renting the Tesla this information was not provided at all. I had to pay 124.00 just for charging the vehicle. Extremely crazy that this was not explained to me at the time.

In May 2023, I made a car reservation, but upon delivery, the car I initially wanted was unavailable. Instead, I was given a Tesla electric car, which was the only option they had. I expressed my concerns about the limited availability of charging centers for electric cars to the center's manager, but they dismissed my worries. The car had a 70% charge when I received it, but upon returning it, I was charged $54.81 for the 10% less charge, despite not receiving a satisfactory explanation. Moreover, the car was delivered in a very dirty state, and the staff's unprofessional attitude left much to be desired. Dealing with the employees there felt like entering a one-way contract. I strongly advise against using this particular branch of Hertz.

Rented here once and had a pleasant experience. They made me wait about 20 minutes after pickup time to hand over the keys, but besides that, I had no issues.

Hertz is THE WORST rental car in the entire Canada. My visiting sister from UK rented a SUV from Sep 1 to Nov 3 for $3,200. The car was dirty to begin with, both inside & out, the key said it's low in battery and the Bluetooth was full. SUV broke down on Oct 12, overheated with a rupture pipe. Got it fixed for $40 (Hertz refused to pay back). Took the SUV back to the shop the next day and had a replacement car. They called it a Transfer Exchange. Same contract, same price, same duration.

Credit card was charged on Oct 4 for the full amount and charged again on Nov 3 when she returned the 2nd car. Sujeev the manager agreed that was a double charge and filed a request for refund. A month later, there was no refund and no other communication whatsoever. Called Sujeev and he said nothing else he could do, told us the file a compliant. Called customer service and after a few holds and transfers, finally talked to Nidia, a young girl located in El Salvador, who spoke poor English and with subpar telephone manner. She insisted it was 2 separate contracts and hence 2 separate charges. Nothing was mentioned about a refund request from Sujeev. After explaining for an hour and presented her with all the contracts as proofs, she finally agree to escalate. She would not give us a escalation number until we pressed her again and again. And she told us to call back in 5-7 business days for a "reply", whatever that means.

This is not the whole story but this is getting too long.

You have been warned. The location of this particular Hertz is on 10414 Yonge St. Richmond Hill, ON. The employees that worked there had cavalier attitude, they simply wanted to pass the puck. Customer Service is not there to help but to sweep the problem under the carpet. The whole experience was horrible and the aggravation is not worth the saving and the time spent on it. We didn't even mention the replacement car had a tire leak and we reported that to Sujeev the next day. He said it is the customer problem as " I don't know where you have driven the car after you took it out". But that's another story.

If there is a minus star, I would have selected that instead of 1 star. They don't deserve any star other than star of complain.

Just a quick update:

Today is Dec 11, a week after talking to Hertz customer service. My sister received a refund of €625,1/4 of the total amount they double charged her. The fight goes on!
