Hibachi Teppanyaki & Bar Scarborough

Great food and very reasonable price.
The electronic button to open the door didn't work and was apparently broken for over a year now, so 2 members of my party needed assistance because 1 is in a wheelchair and 1 uses a walker. I was also assisting parents with strollers getting into the restaurant. Unacceptable! There is no button on the washroom doors, so again, accessibility issues.
Staff would not seat guests until everyone in the party arrived, which is ridiculous.
Tables are low, so the guest in the wheelchair wasn't able to fit and was recessed back away from the rest of us.
The noise level was extremely high. Between the loud music, chatter, banging of drums (4 people celebrated birthdays during our time there), and the noise of the cooking and entertainment, we had to shout to speak to each other.

The only thing lacking was seasoning in some of the food but the atmosphere and the experience was great.

Do not patronize this establishment unless you like poor service. The place is decorated nicely. It has a nice feel but the experience itself was not worth the money by a long shot. I made a reservation and was still asked to wait almost 10 minutes. When being escorted to our seats the hostess walked so fast we almost lost her. Good thing it’s not a big place. Our server was not at all prepared. She insisted that the seafood platter was raw and I had to ask another server to clarify the platter. Also tried to order drinks for my kids off the menu only to be told the menu is old and not all presented options are available. No solution offered.ask and hope for the best. Waitress even brought us water but not the kids? We all ended up ordering off the grill only. The price is outrageously high considering they’re only giving you steamed rice with your protein. I mean $65 for small portions of meat and white rice? Crazy. I upgraded for a couple of peas and carrots for $3.50. We had been sitting for no more than 45 min and this includes the chef cooking time. My mother ordered a drink and the waitress added it to our bill along with a forced 15% gratuity. Then when I asked for the drink she gave it to us in a to go cup and a host asked us to hurry up and leave as they had a line and they’re busy. Highly unpleasant experience. I left wishing I had gone to McDonalds. Our bill over $300 fully unsatisfactory.

Tried this place out for the first time today. After waiting 25 minutes for a seat we decided to leave after a couple that walked in after us without a reservation was seated before us. Terrible service. The staff doesn't communicate and the guy we talked to was taking a smoke break at the back as we drove away.

We ordered a 7 course lobster dinner through Wagjag for 4 adults and added 2 kids meal. Portion size is generous and entertaining to see all the food cooked in front of us. Rice is flavorful but the lobster is a bit salty for my preference. Service is great with friendly staffs.

One of the best dining experience we ever had. Was able to get the 50% coupon from Wagjag. And had the best night. Great food, great ambiance and great service! Highly recommendable for celebration or just have a good meal.

The food and service was underwhelming for the price we paid. Our waiter tried to sell us additional food since I was sharing with my partner and I was confused why the waiter would do that. I don’t know if there is supposed to be a minimum charge for a seat at the table but I just found the experience odd and off putting.
We ordered the takoyaki as an appetizer but was underwhelmed as there was no bonito flakes.

I had the teppanyaki scallop and filet mignon with extra veggies instead of the noodles or rice option and everything tasted really good and I would say I have no complaints for my visit overall. Plus the staff were extremely friendly and outgoing which made the experience that much better!

Went on a Saturday night with my girlfriend and wow I couldn’t believe how packed inside it was, we had a reservation for 8: 45 had to wait a bit to get seated, we then were seated in the middle of one big table and just felt absolutely squished with no breathing room, the pricing is very overpriced for what you will be getting, the portions are very small as well. We had our chef probably give one of the worst performance of Hibachi i’ve ever seen, we still very much appreciate him cooking our food in front of us. Will not be coming back but we thank you for the experience!

We sat at the bar & drank/ate and the teppanyaki was delicious! The scallops were my favourite, the drinks were bomb shout-out to the bar tender & the host Idil & manager gordon they we’re very sweet and attentive.

The food was delicious and our Chef Petey was fantastic, super friendly and entertaining. The restaurant is nice and clean and fairly spacious.
Though the servers were friendly, however, the sevice could use some improvements. Servers should always ensure that all guests are offered to order a drink, which did not happen. When we were initially seated, we were waiting on 2 more guests so we just asked for water while we waited (we were a party of 10). As soon as the 2 guests arrived, dinner started but the Servers never came back to ask about drink orders from the bar or even bring water to the 2 guests that joined us. It wasn't until halfway through dinner, we were able to get the attention of one Server to bring water refills but by then, nobody from our party wanted to order drinks from bar.
Aside from that, everything else was really good.

Over priced for what you get compared to other places of the same. Great staff and very new and clean.

Came here to have dinner with my boyfriend. Food was expensive for the portion, place was incredibly packed. Chef looked miserable. Came here for the experience and will not be back!

Food is very small portions and over priced. Also the chef doesn't know any tricks while cooking. He just kep't banging up the grill with his spatula. Also they include the tips in the bills so they don't give you a chance to decide how much to give. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY GOING HERE. ITS A FAILURE!

Went on a Saturday. Even though the servers are trying hard to accommodate customers, I still feel they are seriously short staffed. Long wait time for anything you can possibly imagine. I'd like to come again if they can hire and train more staff.

Git seated quickly even though I was early. Had shrimp tempura appetizer which we freshly made, crispy but the main coarse of chicken yakisoba I found to be a bit too salty for my taste. Could have been a bit cleaner too as carpets were dirty. Chair were comfy but looked cheap and in the dining room even though they just opened. Service was good. Chef, show was okay.

Place was really filthy, and by filthy I mean like every single utensil and plate brought to us had old food crusts from previous diners. The table also wasn’t wiped down and the soy sauce bottle had 4-5 layers of disgusting food crust on it. Its a 0/5 from me.

My children brought me here for my birthday and i loved it.
Entertaining and really fun

The seats we got were a little uncomfortable cause of the cold coming through entrance that blew to our table but besides that amazing experience definitely recommend going!

You close at 11pm but ur kitchen closes at 9 / 9: 30pm? ! Does that make sense to you? Not everyone want to sit at a bar with a bunch of randoms. Open the kitchen until 10: 45pm so that ppl who want to eat in a private setting can do so. This is extremely inconvenient. Even if you closed your kitchen at 10: 30pm it would be better than 9pm. Extremely disappointing.

First of all, I rarely gave 2 star reviews if it wasn’t this disapponting.
Booked for 9 people, and I had confirm it. But Hibachi called me for 4-5 times.
Then they told us that the grilling is perfect for 8 people, not 9 people. We are asking that we’re 9 people, which is only adding 1 chair.
It’s my friend’s birthday and this was a horrible customer service.
When we come at 6.15pm, we were seated and they took our order.
By 7pm, some of our friend has done eating, but others were not. The staffs started to clean up our plates and they are waiting for those who haven’t finish behind us.
It’s like they’re rushing us and force to leave for only 45 minutes of dining in.

Onto the portion of the food. We ordered two items and chef choice teppanyaki set, but some of us didn’t get the same amount of steak.
We request the steak medium rare & medium, and we were given the steak from the same source.

I’m not sure if this is because the night of Lunar New Year but this is really disappointing.
I already told them we want to celebrate my friend’s birthday but they forgot it.

Me and my girlfriend went in for a Teppanyaki experience. This was one of the worst Teppanyaki experience that I’ve had. We ordered food and the waitress had served the drink and the appetizer. While we were eagerly waiting for the Teppanyaki to start, the waitress asked us to move to the opposite seat for a better view and we stood up to move. The waitress didn’t care to shift our plates and just walked away and we had to move all of our plates. Meanwhile the guy who was cooking already started doing his things. We were just two people at the seat and we were moving plates and the cook was just doing things for nobody. He didn’t even care to wait for us. Zero interaction. I am sure the cook doesn’t know what Teppanyaki means. He was just cooking as if he was cooking in a kitchen and served the food. As a person who have seen Teppanyaki’s before, I would say this is by far the worst Teppanyaki experience. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting. The food was pretty decent. The ambience was good. But I think people who work there have no idea of what they are doing. One star for the food.

Expensive but it is an experience. A bit shorter than what I expected but it was overall a good time. 2 people and an alcoholic beverage each costed 135$+tip

Celebrated my Dad's bday here- was a fabulous experience! They were kid-friendly and the service was stellar! Remarkable ambiance, great mocktails, halal options and nut free!

Food and drinks were really good. Service was not that great. We waited about 35 minutes before our order was taken and some appetizers were not brought out to the table until the end of our meal

The food was phenomenal the “show” was great! The chef was super friendly but from there it went downhill the server named Jenny/jennifer brought my bill and insisted i tip her 20$ even though my bill was already 70$ she wanted to input the tip herself (which i found very odd as it was only me i was paying for) after asking her numerous times she finally let me input the tip amount. When i tipped less than 20$ she then told me “because of you im losing money” which made me feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Anytime she walked past she was giving me dirty looks and made the whole experience one of the worst! Never again will i ever go here. I intend on making a formal complaint as i do not see why im being harassed and forced to tip what she was asking.

It was okay. Took my wife and 3 boys here for dinner. Our waitress was super nice and friendly, the chef was entertaining, but the food was the biggest disappointment. It wasn't quality at all. You can upgrade to noodles instead of rice, which I regretted doing. The chef added way too much soya sauce so the noodles were not edible because they were so salty! Portion size I would say were average. Price was expensive considering how disappointing the food was.

Pleasantly surprised at the quality of teppanyaki we ate. It could depend on the time of day and who is preparing the food but our chef was entertaining and knew how to prepare our main dishes. Service was courteous and prompt. Food tasted good and the chicken I ordered was tender and moist. Definitely worth a group visit or a celebration of an event!
