Hibachi Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar

3.9 / 5.0 - Teppanyaki is always a great experience. This is located at the bottom of a local hotel. This is a good value option for Teppanyaki. Be clear, this is not a high-end experience. The Chefs were good overall.

The service was mid - had to ask for drink refills. The food was also mid. Not bad, but the stacking of food left some items cold as they built the plate out. Overall it was fun for the price.

There were a lot of couples and dates there. There are about 6-8 Teppanyaki table sections to dine at. So we sat with 6 other people at the 8! Person half tables.

What a disaster. Mediocre, overpriced food meets abysmal service.

Examples of the poor service include forgotten sushi orders, the staff not knowing if they served coffee (even though it’s in the menu), delivering food and drinks to the wrong people on four separate occasions, forgetting to deliver utensils, and then charging $10 for a “celebration package” with the tiniest slice of matcha cheesecake and a paper hat for a birthday. What a joke!

There are so many options for Japanese cuisine in Toronto, don’t waste your money here.

Very disappointed! I had high expectations from this place. I remember having my daughters Bday party here 6yrs ago and it was amazing! But now things have changed drastically. The fried rice had no flavour and cross contamination of spatulas from the raw chicken! We didn’t even get a show! Maybe 1 min of a so called fire show? And the chef wasn’t even Japanese, he was from India lol definitely not worth the price you pay for! Or the experience of a real Hibachi Tepppenyaki restaurant!

Do not get the sushi/green dragon. I want to say that the supermarket sushi is better than the $12 roll. It is also very small. See picture.
The actual tenpenyaki part is pretty good, especially the scallop. Note that medium m rare steak is really medium well.
The servers were rushing and clearly try to flip the tables quickly. They kept trying to ask to unfinished soup or food away. It became annoying. Overall I would not come back here unless there’s a promotion.

Wonderful experience. So much fun and so much food. Delicious and priced well. Service was great. Definitely will go back.

Avi was our chef and he was amazing. Musa was our server. The staff here are very kind and attentive. Food was bomb and flavorful. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the food here.
We even met the manager and bartender here. Very chill dudes.

The servers and the chef were nice and friendly. I enjoyed the chef performance and he gave me three chances for attempting to catch broccoli in my mouth from a toss. He also invited me to flip rice into a bowl twice.

I never expected to eat at a place this but it was a surprisingly fun experience. Having your food cooked in front of you will never be boring. This place is very popular with kids as when I went, all the tables were filled with families and children.

The fried rice, veggies, and filet mignon were pretty solid. The apps (sushi, etc) tasted like grocery store food and other cuts of meat we had (chicken, scallops, and lobster tail) were extremely overcooked and had a rubbery texture. The cocktails were really cheap, though, and reminded me of resort drinks.

Horrible experience. Seated at 8: 30 pm, ordered appetizer by 8: 40. At 9: 37 pm I was still waiting for my appetizer even though I had reminded my waiter and two couples seated at the same table as me had already received their appetizers. My appetizer did not come until i was already eating my main dish. We never received the miso soup, salad or steamed rice. When we inquired we were told that it is sold out but no one informed us. I ordered a glass of white Zinfandel, never received it and then was told that they do not have it. We then asked to speak to a manager and when we explained all of the above to him he told us the following “but was the food good? We can go all night to find a conclusion, but I’m still not hearing an issue. ” He also said: “we expect our customers to be knowledgeable” THAT IS THE MOST DISRESPECTFUL THING I HAVE EVER BEEN TOLD BY A MANAGER. They removed a total of $7 from my bill and he spoke in a condescending and highly disrespectful tone the entire time. After I paid for my bill, I looked over at the adjacent table and realized that they all received their miso soup, salad and white rice. Lastly, when I asked for the managers name; everyone REFUSED to give it to me. The worst possible service I have ever received at a restaurant.

My first time at Hibachi and it was so good. My friend and I both got a drink which was excellent, and on top our soup was hot and salad was great. Then got all our food fresh off the grill. I Would recommend this to anyone, the food and service was perfect.

Great people and service. The food however was not the best, for me. I ordered the filet mignon and the chef did ask how we wanted the steak. I said medium, and another friend asked for medium rare. We were all served the same steak, which was well done chewy and dry. The seafood was good - scallops and lobster.

Pretty good food and our chef was impressive. We went at 6: 15 on a Tuesday and were the only ones there. More traffic started coming in around 7: 30-8

Great food, great atmosphere. Our reservations had to be changed last minute at the restaurants request, they knew we were inconvenienced and they made up for it with the service.

Best teppanyaki experience ever. We had sake bomb, Apon made our sake bomb experience super good.

Multiple locations. If you want an interactive experience with friends, family, or a date, this is a good idea. They've also got a sushi menu and a la carte. There are tables in the front where you can sit to enjoy the meal without a show as well.

I recommend this place for special occasions, however, it’s not the most impressive Teppanyaki show. Too many mistakes made, the chefs are okay at best. For a first timer they will be impressed but if you’ve been to Teppanyaki before this is pretty average show-wise. Food was tasty.

Nice show and decent food - whatever you use ends up spiced the same way making all the dishes taste a bit the same. Not a piece for a leisurely dinner.they turned around the table in an hour to make way for next reservation.

They always have delicious food amd amazing staff that entertain the guests and male everyone feel good about their experience. We have been there 3 times this year along and look forward to going back again.

The chef was amazing our food was cooked perfectly. I Just dont like the fact that we had reservation and because a vip personal booked also, we was kinda hurried to leave by a certain time and I was my friends birthday.

Do not come here. Had a group reservation of 6 with a set menu. Took them 45 minutes to get a chef, the server messed up every cocktail ordered (and it also took 20 minutes), and the worst part is, the Hibachi chef DID NOT put on any show. There was a big flame for 3 seconds and that was it. Not to mention we came in on a Thursday night so there should be no excuse for terrible service. It was also my friends birthday and they came out to sing when she was in the bathroom. Not one apology from any of the staff throughout the night. I paid $90 for him to silently cook infront of me.

Amazing place. Quite an experience tbh. The food was great and the ambience too. Highly recommend the shrimp and the fillet mignon.

Always a fun place to dine! Staff are lovely and the food is always delicious. Hassan and Appon are very hospitable hosts and we always look forward to coming back:)

Food is good, best part could be Halal on advance request. -ve. At open (5pm) washroom was dirty no toilet roll. Flat top didn’t look nicely clean. Food was good but could be a better quantity for the price we pay.

I came with high expectations to celebrate a birthday but food quality was average at best, the chef didn’t wow us…. But the kicker is that we were charged 10$ for the celebration fee: birthday cake, paper hat and the drums.disappointing.

The chefs performance is the highlight of the meal with lots of tricks and fun for the whole family. Service was also quite good. The food portions and what you get for the price seems a little smaller compared to other teppanyaki restaurants I've been to with the need to pay extra for default items such as fried rice and ice cream. The food is still decent though. Overall it was still a fun experience for the kids.

Great location, lots of space. The service was great, food was delicious, chef was friendly but wasn't engaging the audience. They are generous with the portions. We will visit again.

If you're looking for good service, quality ingredients, and a fun atmosphere.look elsewhere! The meat here was clearly frozen before, resulting in a mushy, bland mess. Teppanyaki chef did a demonstration for about 3 minutes near the start (failing the egg trick) and proceeded to just keep his head down and cook and rest of the time, 0 interaction at all! The only redemption goes to the support staff who were attentive and took our orders quickly. Won't be seeing me here again.

I don't get the bad reviews, the food is delicious and I left with my stomach full. I understand pricing is not for everyone, but I have had meals in other places of the world and I don't go see there this restaurant prices to be exaggerated.

Delicious food (filter mignon, Lobster talks, scallops), though the veggies were in the firmer side. Good prices for a teppanyaki place, reasonable drink prices too.
The chef wasn't super friendly, didn't introduce himself, only did a couple of easy tricks. At least his focus on cooking paid off!

Good music, lots of people doing sake bombs. We enjoyed the atmosphere and would come back again!

Both Teppanyaki and sushi were good. Service is good and fast. The Teppanyaki show that was done for us could have been better and more interactive. Overall it was good experience.

Halal Teppanyaki! This was such a fun experience. The demonstration was amazing and the waiters were super sweet.

I got the steak and chicken option, so the chef cooked everything wonderfully. It all had great taste, I mixed the sauce into the rice and ate a piece of meat in every bite. Loved this so much!

Expected for more of a show. Felt like the chef did us a favor by cooking us. My wife had to run to bathroom in the middle of the meal. The price is not worth it.

I left hungry. Shouldn't be happening if I'm paying 60 bucks for some rice, 4 shrimps, 6 little pieces of chicken, veggies and 6 little pieces of beef. Veggies weren't cooked properly at all, We did come with a big group maybe that was the reason but their was still some shrimp left over and a lot of rice and they took the left overs to the back lol The chef we had was a rookie too, must have been his first day since he couldn't even crack the egg or flip the spatula. First time going to a Teppanyaki and wont come back.

Great experience here for my birthday.there is a set menu for a group over 8 people, so much food.so tasty and nice:) Chef and staff were amazing.such a fun experience

Such a fun experience for a dinner. Came here for a birthday and everything is cooked right in front of you. The staff are friendly and can modify as you wish. The portion sizes are quite large as well.

Would definitely come back to try other food options. There is a gift certificate option at Costco which helps bring the cost down.

They billed me for the wrong sake and sushi, but without an arguing they waive the extra fees. It was great to see that and appreciate that kind of service. The salmon grilled was really good! Went for a birthday party and service and chef was entertaining

The staff were really nice and very attentive. The food was delicious! The chicken fried rice was super good!

Having the chef doing all that smooth samurai moves while cooking in front of you.feels so energizing. You will have fun and very delicious meal.

Frozen lobster (doesn't taste good), no smile from the cooker nor throwing the food in your mouth like every other tables. A bit disappointed for the deluxe menu

Visited twice for dinner - it is a great spot for large groups looking for a fun meal. Lots of photo opportunities and atmosphere is lively without hampering conversation. Bit expensive, but it's really a show and dinner.

Ordered take out. Took a pretty long time which I was okay with. But the quality of the food was extremely poor and for the price was TOTALLY not worth it. Only been there the one time and extremely dissappointed.

Had the fixe price dinner for 2 this evening. It was excellent and portions were very generous. It was not busy and we were well served.
Clean pleasant venue with very efficiently vented tables so it has not left the 'cooking' odours in our clothes The music track wasn't one I would have expected but it was not a problem.

Although the food wasn’t bad, my experience at this place was not the best. My bf brought me here for my birthday dinner. We looked at the menu and decided to share a few things off the menu so that we could have a taste of everything. We ordered two rolls of sushi and one order that allowed you to choose two items. And that’s what we got. We got the bill. We were surprised as the tried to scam us into paying for three orders coming out to $100! For two people! And not just that, the server charged us 15% gratituity which clearly is only applicable on parties of 8 persons or more! Ummm hello.it was just two us? ! My bf and I had to literally fight for the server to take the extra order off our bill. Thankfully the bill came down to $66 which was close to what it was suppose to be. I suggest anyone who is coming here not to waste their time. If you want the experience, make sure you be clear of what you are actually ordering and check your bills.don’t be fooled. Cheers!

It was amazing. Staff were accommodating and entertaining. The food was excellent quality and very hardy. And there was an authentic Japanese theamed ambiance.

Been here twice both times food was cooked perfect. The show can be fun but you have to get into it. You get what you've performance wise. Fun date place.

Bought a groupon at what I thought was a good price. Turns out they charge you a 15% service charge on your pre discounted total. Feels like they discount their groupon deal by 15% then charge you a "service fee" to get the money back.

Food portions were laughable at the price. Had a steak but half was all gristle and not edible.

Excellent food and the customer service is the best. On Tuesday they have a special on steak for $20.99.there is also parking in front and the price are not that bad. They singing were you take a sako bomb. It is good if you want to go with your couple or friends.

Place was nice. Staffs were friendly. Then things turned downhill from there.
Food, the most important thing, was a disappointment. We had the taste menu. Lobster, shrimp, chicken, steak, vegetables, fried rice, all prepared with the same sauce. Ingredients were not at par with the price, e.g, lobsters tasted as having been in the fridge for ages; so-called Angus steak didn't taste Angus to me. Japanese green tea was bland, mango ice cream had no hints of the taste of mango.

My wife and I went for dinner and the place looks cool. The service was great, the chef at the flat-top did his utensil-clicking thing and was super. The food was just meh. It wasn't bad at all, but for the cost, the primary thing should be the taste of the food.

Awesome experience. Advise to check out Groupon if you wanna get a great deal. Live chef + 7 course meal. Your gonna have to sit by group and wait for the chef. We had a Very polite waitress.

It is a great experience! The food is good! The only disadvantage: your clothes will have a strong food smell.

The Service here is lacking, the waiter never came back to ask if we wanted more drink or anything, including just simply refilling our water glasses. I didn't pay for fried rice, but steamed rice is still included, and they didn't bring me any, and since the waiter never came to the table to check on us, it was over 15 minutes until i could mention that they forgot my food, and then when they brought me my rice, the bowl wasn't even full whereas everyone else at the table received overflowing bowls. There weren't enough vegetables cooked for everyone at the table, so by group got very few, and no broccoli since that was given to everyone else before us. At the end of the meal they were rushing us to leave since they wanted to turnover the table, and my plate was cleared while i was still eating. Absolutely disgusted by the service i received at this restaurant.

We asked for extra veggies, and they gave us nothing but onions half cooked. Prices are high and portions are extremely small that could have been justified if the quality was there but it did not. Will not recommend.

Went to lunch on a Thursday. The server was incredibly friendly and hospitable. The shrimp & sweet potato Bento box was good. Super clean and classy atmosphere.

Best teppanyaki I’ve had and my friends and l consider ourselves teppanyaki connoisseurs.bonus points for having noodles as an upgrade option.the sangria was more juice than sangria but the food was great. I’ve seen better shows but what can you do for a sunday night.

Would give zero if I could. Extremely overpriced, poor service, mediocre food. I came here with my boyfriend as sister for my birthday lunch. When we arrived, just before noon there were no other patrons so we decided to go for the Teppanyaki table instead of sushi. The chef wheeled out our food order 20 minutes after ordering but turned around when he saw another party arriving. We had to then wait another 20-25 minutes while the rest of their party arrived and ordered. I asked if we could start the show since we ordered before the second party even arrived and my sister had a connecting bus. They said they would start but then just didn’t and ignored us until they were ready. The show was non-existent and the food was overpowered by onion taste. Extremely disappointed. Will not be going back and don’t recommend to anyone who wants good Japanese Teppanyaki.

This is by far the most disappointing place I have ever gone to, the food had absolutely zero flavour the serving sizes were so small and completely not adequate to the ridiculous price of food that is plain out horrible. I would never recommend anyone to go here. We went for a birthday celebration and were not extremely disappointed, they really need to step up their game or lower prices.

It was very interesting to see the chef cook! He did tricks with eggs, onions, and other vegetables. What a great show while eating lunch! Folks at the office liked it!

The service was excellent- friendly, fast, and entertaining! The food was very good, and plentiful. I would definitely recommend this place, well worth the price.

Food at this location is average. Chef's show wasn't great. Their Oakville location is much. Better.
