Highway 24 Veterinary Clinic

I just started bringing my cat here recently, they have amazing customer service. It feels very family oriented which I like. I definitely feel like I made the right choice when choosing a vet clinic!

First impressions were positive, however after a complex issue with our dog the entire process became stressful and we ended up going around in circles with no conclusion from the team. The most frustrating thing about it all was this continuous need to "test" resulting in a rather hefty bill that in the end, yielded NO results and NO action. The most frustrating part about it all - we ended up taking our dog to another doctor for a second opinion. The other clinic was able to completely solve the issue within one visit and we're happy to say our dog is now thriving.

We don't understand why our explanations of the problems were just met with a constant need of "throwing more money" at the issue to provide more data. When clearly the symptoms were visible and apparent. There needs to be a bit more of a practical approach in cases like these and to be more attentive to what your customers are telling you.

If I could give negative stars, I would. The fact your staff managed to KILL an animal for a simple procedure such as a spay, is absolutely SICKENING. That was pure negligence and I hope whomever was in charge pays for what has happened. I will never recommend this vet clinic to anyone. Ever. Absolutely disgusted over this news.

This has to be the Best Vet Clinic in Guelph. They treat your dog like family. Our puppy loves this clinic, and they have been so helpful with every emergency situation even calling back to do follow-ups on your pet's well-being. Rex Loves this clinic and all there Amazing Staff members!

Oakley and Jeffery (both 90lb Shepherds), went for the first time together today. We have used this veterinarian for the past 15 years. I once again their staff and doctors were amazing. The dogs were not made to feel nervous and settled and followed commands almost immediately.
The knowledge and compassion of every staff member at this facility is unmatched in the region.
I highly recommend and will be lifelong client.

Well meaning vets but very poor communication with me and between vets resulted in unnecessary suffering of the sweetest dog ever.

Our puppy was taken care of with so much love and enthusiasm. I am sure he will not have any issues going to the vet as he grows older. From booking the appointment to the actual appointment, everything was pleasant experience.

We are very grateful for 30 years of exceptional care from an amazing group of loving, kind, patient, knowledgeable and compassionate people.

Our two boys can be a handful for sure but Dr. Mary Thompson and Elsie were extremely patient, understanding and efficient during our appointment today.
They provided us with resources, medication options and offered a safe place for our boys to have a run before the trip back home.

We never feel rushed and trust them completely. Our experiences have always been positive,

Our family feels very fortunate to have such a great team taking care of our fur babies and will continue to make the trip even though we've moved an hour away.

The team at Highway 24 Vet Clinic is always so accommodating and professional, yet friendly and approachable! I feel confident that my pets are receiving top notch care, and that I am leaving each appointment or phone call/text/email with the information and instructions I need to care for my pets at home, no matter the circumstance.

Dr. Martin was spectacular! Walked me through everything that was happening, gave suggestions and confirmed that I agreed with the process. Asked for feedback, made sure I didn't have any outstanding questions and was amazing with my dogs-who obviously loved her.
The Vet tech, LC was also extremely helpful. Her and the vet worked very well together. LC was anticipating the Vets needs as she worked and read my pets body language and helped comfort them through the process.
I hope my pets stay healthy, but I am excited to visit again. I left feeling very confident in my next steps in my pets recovery.

This is a great team at this clinic. We've had interactions with various vet doctors, vet technicians, and support staff over the years - every interaction fantastic. They've always been thorough in their exams, and you sense their true compassion for the animals and their families. Highly recommend this clinic.

You have always been available, thoughtful, attentive and I KNOW you love every pet that walks into your practice. Our other two pets are currently with Smith Lane and did not have the capacity to see our new kitten Oscar for many weeks. We were quarantining him in a bedroom to prevent the possible spreading of anything to our older cat. You guys took him in days, and have been amazing to him ever since. We LOVE working with you. Oscar will stay with you guys.

Like the vets here. New vet Dr Ian.met him recently.good, caring get. Like the location and the building. A sense of warmth and those on the front desk very welcoming, warm, knowledgeable and somehow seem to remember me. Love the vets who work here.they are awesome. Unfortunately I haven't met those who work in the back.the techs, etc but I get the sense everyone who works here loves animals. Also, they sell some food, toys, etc.

I have been coming to Highway 24 Vet clinic for many years. This week I brought my dog in for end of life care and the veterinarian I had was amazing. He spoke to my dog like he had known her his whole life. I will be forever grateful for how he handled this difficult time.

It was a great experience starting with booking my appointment, inside the clinic and the care that our kitten had. Very fast with results. Would highly recommend this Vet Clinic in a heart beat. Everyone loved our new fur baby, treated us great. Best Vet Clinic! Thank you, we appreciate all of you.

The vets here are all super knowledgeable and the staff really cares about our cats. We have one senior cat who is normally super aggressive with veterinary staff but they went slow with him and kept him calm - they really work well with difficult animals.

We had our kitten neutered here as well and they did an amazing job - they even ended up giving us a free bag of dental food for him to try, which he has been loving! Wonderful clinic and amazing people, this is the best clinic I have visited in the Guelph area

For the past two years Highway 24 has always met or exceeded our expectations when bringing our dog in for medical check-ups or whenever we're concerned. They have provided excellent care, and have been available to help us with evidence-based information whenever we've had any questions about procedures or next-steps. On our most recent visit, they did a thorough check-up for our dog, provided us with plenty of information and reassurance, and even gave us a bag of healthy treats to take home!

I cannot say enough good things about highway 24 vet. We have had Dr. Lucas for the past two visits and we will make sure to have him in the future. He is thorough, informative and very patient with our questions and concerns. Aside from vet services the admin and support staff are bar none, always prompt and friendly, willing to answer questions and follow up.

The prices may be marginally higher than elsewhere but I would pay that and more for the piece of mind.

Always top notch service and care from the vets and team. Thanks for your care! I wouldn’t imagine going anywhere else. I appreciate that the team provides print outs describing the condition or recommendations they are making. Thanks again!

If we could give you 100 stars we would! We were sad to see the lovely Dr. Amanda leave the clinic, but Dr. Georgie has just been so fabulous taking us over! Our dog has been battling allergies for 2 years which we had not yet found a solution, leaving us feeling quite stressed for our dogs wellbeing. We are so thankful for the caring, compassionate and ever-patient Dr. Georgie, who never failed to answer our questions, help our dog who has developed a bit of a fear of needles through this long process, or follow up with us to check on our pup. She has helped us finally find a solution for our dog that has completely changed both our and our dogs quality of life. We are so thankful for Highway 24 and their team, we don't know what we would have done without you! THANK YOU

We absolutely loved Dr. Amanda and are definitely planning on being long term clients! Amid all the COVID-19 additional precautions, their staff were friendly and informative to the fullest extent. It was exactly the type of first experience I was hoping to have with our new puppies to help learn about how to best care for them.

We have a 10 month old puppy that has been going through some health issues. Prior we were at a different vet that was giving us major red flags and we felt so uneasy going there. We started to go to Hwy 24 vet and immediately felt welcomed, cared for and truly understood. All staff here has been exceptionally kind, going the extra mile to call us with updates, check In and find time for last minute appointments and questions as things come up. We are very thankful to have finally found an honest, loyal and truly kind hearted vet clinic. Highly recommend hwy 24!:)

Always a truly wonderful heartfelt experience. Vets and staff are always happy and excited to see our pets which makes it a really pleasant experience for them as well.

I come from Kitchener.it takes me approximately 30 minutes but it is well worth it. My dogs (which are part of our family) are well taken care of. I have full trust in all your staff to do the right things for them. I feel very welcomed by everyone. Even though this appointment was for our new dog, Opal, our older dog, Bree was given some attention with a treat and made sure that she was good with the addition of our new puppy.

We ONLY trust Highway 24 vet clinic with our pets, they are family to us and you treat them the same way. We so very much appreciated all the care and attention you have provided our pets for many many years. Dr. Mike Taylor is awesome in every way! Today we saw Dr. Mary and she was great as well. Informative, provide recommendations, things to watch out for and provided a dental quote.

We brought in a very sick kitten and they discovered a very rare disease, fast enough for us to initiate the proper treatment to save his life. He came to us very sick and malnourished. He got on a quick road to recovery and is still growing strong. Anytime we call with an issue with him they have seen him right away.

We have used other vets in the past but none can compare to HWY24 vet and the quick and thorough care they have given our kitten.

Have been taking my dogs to Highway 24 for 10 years and will not go anywhere else. They are all amazing. They explain everything in detail and care about their patients. My dog loves going there even when he’s not feeling well. When my other dog passed away they were so supportive and mourned with my family. I highly recommend Highway 24.

Dr Lucas was so thorough, thoughtful and helpful. He took the time to fully read and process my dogs medical history and asked so many questions and took the time to really evaluate and help my little boy. I am very grateful. Very reasonable and eased my mind. All the staff that I had interaction with were wonderful, really listened and helped. I was there at around one today and he is already looking and feeling better! Great care and I am so relieved. They are following up on him next week. Great service and care, thank you!

Dr. Sparkman is a pleasure to deal with. She was able to successfully manage my anxious dog. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a new vet.

My family has been going to Highway 24 for years with our family pets, and now my own little kitten goes there as well! My little guy just got neutered and the staff did such a good job at answering my millions of questions. They are always so pleasant to talk to and every visit is a good experience. I feel confident that the staff always has my pet’s best interest in mind.

My family and I have been going to Highway 24 Vet Clinic for over 30 years as they've treated all of our family's dogs. This clinic is one of those rare places where I can say that I honestly have not had one single bad experience or interaction with them! Whether it's speaking to them over the phone to book an appointment or coming in for a visit because my dog has been sick, they have always been friendly, attentive and have always done their absolute best when treating our dogs. When our first dog was gravely ill, they comforted us and gave us as much time as we needed. When my current dog got very sick and needed to have tests done, I was an emotional wreck! He'd never had any health issues before so needless to say, I was crying so much because I was so worried for him. All the staff made me feel so comforted and never once made me feel embarrassed about being so emotional.

One particular time they went above and beyond was when I needed to pick up more of my dog's food. I completely forgot that my dog needed more food. And although they do have delivery, they don't currently offer same day delivery. I mentioned to them over the phone that I'd be calling a taxi to pick up the food for me. When I said that, the receptionist told me she'd call me back in a few minutes. When she did, she said that one of their staff members lives close by to me so they were going to drop off the food for me when the clinic closed!

That's exactly the type of Vet clinic this place is. Just when you think they can't get any nicer, they do something like that to help their customers. Even though I couldn't believe that they were going to do that for me, I wasn't completely surprised that they did because that's just how nice they are here.

They always provide the best and most compassionate service. They always try to accomodate your situation and are always mindful of the costs of everything. For example, my dog was trying new canned food and medication. After a few days of being on both, the Vet and I decided to try different options. As a result, I had lots of unused, unopened food and meds. Thankfully, the clinic actually allowed me to return all of the food and medication that I no longer needed (so long as all of the food was not opened and the medication was still in its original packaging). Even though the total refund came to less than $100, I was immensely grateful for that bit of help as I had already spent quite a lot of money on tests for my dog.

If you need a new Vet or are thinking of switching, I highly recommend this clinic. Even when I lived in Toronto, I continued to bring my dog here for his annual checkups. I truly don't think I'll ever go to a different vet clinic. There's truly nothing bad I can say about this place whatsoever!

I have 3 older dogs, and they are well loved. It is important to me to have a vet that I can trust with their health. Dr. Mike has always made me feel that he genuinely cares. He speaks honestly about any issues that come up, and provides me with choices. I appreciate that very much.

I can not stress enough how amazing this vet is! I would not even contemplate another vet if you live in this area. Our breeder let us know about them when we got our puppy and we decided to continue her care with them and we are so glad. They make you feel welcome, always take great care of your babies and have such an efficient system it's actually a pleasure to be there even during harder times for your pet! I am very happy with the care my pets have received over the years (12 and counting) and continue to receive at Highway 24 Vet clinic. The clinic is a friendly environment that endeavors to make the pets as comfortable as possible while providing gold standard treatment. Dr. Dana is great at communicating (and very fun) and everyone I dealt with was super friendly and easy to talk to. The system in place for socially distanced visits is very smooth and effective. I have to shout out to the artist who put my dog's name on the meds bag - so beautiful! Thanks for all you do!

Annual checkup for my cats, Team HWY 24 did a great job making sure they got checked in and any health concerns I had were addressed, the phone call with the vet afterwards was great, we were able to discuss things that he found and answered all of my questions.

Have had a wonderful experience with Highway 24. We had our puppy neutered here and I can't be happier with how helpful they were before and after the surgery. They are also fear-free certified which is always good and especially helpful if you are working on cooperative care. I'm grateful that this clinic exists.

Everyone is always very pleasant, they use first names with clients and pets. It feels like I'm leaving my pets with people who truly care about their well-being. The Team also sends lots of appropriate information home to make the best choices possible for my animals.

The team is always so friendly and professional. The gentleman who took care of my dog was so helpful, fully explaining what they were going to do with her and then summarizing everything at the end. At the last minute I asked for dog food and without hesitation he got that for me as well. I have been bringing my dogs here for a year now and never feel like I am interrupting anyone's time and everyone is great to deal with.

We love coming to see you and it speaks volumes when Tash is not anxious when we drive your way. Thanks for taking such good care of him/us.

I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am for all of the staff at Highway 24! Since adopting my cat 3 years ago, he has developed terrible allergies and Highway 24 has been so excellent in helping to treat this chronic condition. The receptionists and technicians are very friendly and always remember your name. They are helpful when I call with questions regarding medication, dosing, etc.and I am usually able to get a last minute appointment without an issue. Dr. Angela Forsyth and Dr. Chanel Schwartzentruber are extremely knowledgeable and compassionate and won't hesistate to contact colleagues/specialists in more specialized fields such as dermatology to ensure your pet is receiving the best care.

Our animals are always so well looked after at Hwy 24 Vet Clinic. We've been going there for over 30 years!

Very friendly, patient and knowledgeable staff. Our vet Chanel was excellent with our 1 year old rescue who came to us a week ago. She made our dog feel completely comfortable while managing a 1 hour examination and two vaccinations.

Great Job Highway 24 Veterinary Clinic!

Took my dog in because of an open wound.was told that the vet felt there was more pressing health concerns based on her symptoms that needed to be dealt w before we could address the wound. They had me believing my dog was a breath away from death's door so a battery of tests (over $500 worth) were ordered. 3 times they had to redo the bloodwork that was ordered because once they forgot to refrigerate it & once they "dropped it"! And then when the tests finally came back they told us there was nothing wrong with the dog at all - she was in perfect health.and now we could begin tests/treatment for the wound? !? ! "Thankfully" they agreed not to charge us for the 2nd and 3rd time they had to do the bloodwork because of their error and promised to "consider" a "small" discount on a future visit. Needless to say my confidence in their abilities and ethics was shaken and we took the dog elsewhere for the wound care we initially came in for.

We had a wonderful first visit with our little pup Murphy! The staff were great and Dr. Forsythe was both friendly and very knowledgeable.

I called with a problem and they said bring her now even tho it was close to closing time, that to me is dedication to the animals.
