Hillside Kennels Animal Control

Three problems here:
1. Difficult to get a hold of.
2. Hours. Don't go there unless you have an appointment. We found that out the hard way. Google says they're open 9-4. But they're not. They're open by appointment only.
3. Rude, unsympathetic, uncaring that our pets have been missing/gone. (After reading a bunch of these reviews I'm beginning to realize that they possibly even took the dogs off our farm)

Stop stealing peoples animals and adopting them out. Walking onto private property to try and coax farm dogs away so you can adopt them out and make a buck? Shameful. All Hillside does is steal and euthanize.

One of your people came onto our property took our 13 year old chocolate lab that was on the edge of our land and took it back 20 kms away from home. Then charged us 135.00 pretty much kidnapping and holding for randsome. Then when i showed up to pay she started yelling at me because her nails were too long. Saying i was neglecting her and commiting animal abuse. Im sorry my dog wont let us touch them. Its impossible to cut them unless shes knocked out. Worst customer service ever! Lucky we dont press charges. One of my neighbours said same thing someone took there hound dog on 2 different occasions. Same white suv

Does Hillside Kennel check for chips before adopting dogs out?

Very poor experience with Mattie who picked up a sweet boy in Brantford tonight. She couldn’t walk the dog to the truck then needed assistance with getting the dog into the back of the truck. She rolled her eyes when he cell phone rang. She wasn’t warm or welcoming towards him either. She didn’t want to give me the time to explain that I would have taken him home.

Hillside better take good care of this sweet boy! I can’t imagine him doing well in a loud or crowded environment.

Found this gorgeous girl on King George Rd in Brantford (Oct 28,2023) without a collar or tags and called Hillside for assistance. They were there within 30 mins. Very thankful we have folks in our community who work hard to care for animals that need it. To all the folks posting negative reviews, if you can't extend warmth to the team at Hillside, you don't deserve to be a pet owner. Today alone they had 8 dogs to rescue from the streets.

I called the SPCA in brantford and was told to call Hillside. I was walking my dogs in the park near Russell Reid school and found a rabbit caught in a chain link fence. They said they would call me to help locate the rabbit and they never did. Not sure if they went to help the bunny

Had a great experience here. They are very kind and caring towards our dog. I completely understand they are running a buisness and have to charge for said buisness.
I wish they had the available funding to give this place a revamp. But the staff are doing good things for these pups and the dogs reaction to them says it all.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I had called two months ago about multiple cats that were abandoned outside and in distress, after being referred to them by the local county, they refused to provide assistance and stated that they wouldn’t as the cats weren’t in any “real distress”. One of the cats has had a mason jar stuck on its head for a week (which they have been notified about) and now one of the other cats was found this morning deceased. This “business” is a complete joke. Thanks for refusing to do your job guys!

When you are as terrible as these people are at their job, sometimes you just need to find another career. It’s your job to help animals. No one wants to hear you beat your chest. Either say you’ll help or you won’t. Stop wasting people’s time. Whoever put this company in charge of helping animals in need should definitely be fired.

I was treated so poorly by one of their staff today. They Treated me like a difficult child. I pity their chldren. I called this peron out in treating me like child! And I suggested they not be in the 'service industry'.

My dog was taken there from Brantford, some 30-40 miles, after someone found him running lose. Why way out there, is a good question for starters?

I have used many kennels and sitters locally in Brantford. In comparison this place is: loud, smelly, dark, dank and dirty.

Sorry, I could never recommend this place to anyone. Buyer beware!

We adopted our dog from Hillside and you could really tell they just care about them and want them to go to a good home. He was not our first pick but it turned out the other dog we wanted to see was not a good fit for us. They really advocated for our dog and said he was wonderful despite his breed mix. We took a chance on him and we are so glad we did. He is such a sweetheart! Thank you for taking such good care of him for 8 long weeks! We can tell he is happy to be "home" and he fits like a glove it's like he was waiting just for us! I am pleased with how much you advocated for him and the potential you saw in him. Thank you.

Was explained that hillside takes over for wildlife but when you call they refuse to do their job! Good job guys! This place is a joke and nothing but backyard breeder vibes

Our boy Bruce escaped yesterday morning after we went to work and we discovered him missing around 1: 30pm.
Hillside had received calls about him in the morning and they searched for him and tried to catch him all day.
Thank you so much for the staff for spending so much time searching for our baby. We finally found him around 4pm

My dog has been missing for 4 days and I haven’t received a single call back from these people.

I'm looking for someone to do anything about a neglected cat. It's owner is Travis Beckett and he is definitely not feeding it
