Hillside Veterinary Clinic

My experience with Hillside was amazing! I took my rabbit (Butters) in as he had an overgrown tooth and Dr. Sarah was able to get him in the following day for surgery. All the staff were friendly and compassionate and they even provided Butters with a certificate of bravery after his surgery was complete! They emailed to follow up with me the next day as well. Great service! Would not hesitate to take Butters back here or any other pet I may have in the future. Thanks Hillside!

I was pleased to see that this vet clinic serves exotics. We took our Rex rabbit (Phoebe) because she was having trouble walking. Dr. Hansford was excellent! She was very patient, took time to assess her and did not push any expensive, unnecessary tests. Phoebe was given a pain med and within a day or two she was back to her old self. Looks like arthritis. We will definately stick with Hillside Vet for our rabbit's needs.

Great and very understanding team. They always follow up after each treatement to make sure pet is well. Staff is very friendly and pet loving.

I take both of my cats there and they are always kind and patient with them, even though one of them is very anxious and aggressive.we’ve been seeing Dr. Alice for close to a year and she is always super helpful and explains everything thoroughly, i appreciate her so much.they always follow up after appointments and are very helpful through their email:)

We always have the best experience at Hillside Vet Clinic. My German Shepherd puppy Taylor has been going to Hillside for a few months now. Me being a first-time pet parent and Taylor being a young puppy, I always have a lot of questions and have been to Hillside a few times for emergency visits. Their team always makes sure Taylor would be seen on the earliest availability which is greatly appreciated. Everyone we talked to are very nice, professional and compassionate. And they always make sure to address all my questions on the visits. The Hillside team always follows up with Taylor after every visit to make sure she's doing better. Taylor is always happy to go to the vet as she gets a ton of bely rubs, compliments and treats. Highly recommend Hillside to every pet parent looking for a family vet!

I went in to put my dog down (bawling) after a couple trips to the emergency vet saying she had a brain tumour. Hillside refused to do it saying it was just epilepsy. A couple months later she still ended up dying from a brain tumour, the whole time she was walking into walks and putting her head into a corner. They didn’t care about my dog, they just wanted the giant breed on 9 pills a day for profit. Not once did anyone apologize to me for it after. I am traumatized and my dog suffered for months longer

Amazing staff, have always gone above and beyond when providing care for my bunny. I'm beyond grateful for them and squeezing us in during emergencies. Highly recommend them, especially if you have bunnies!

My 9 year old cat had to have a tumour removed and a tooth pulled. The staff were very professional, answered all my questions and really put me at ease. They treated her like the little princess she is and she came through with flying colours!

If you love your pets I wouldn't bring them here. It started off mediocre and then just got worse. I don't know if it was a racist thing or they're actually always unprofessional. But there's a huge difference in treatment of colored people and non-colored people. With promptness and professionalism. When I told my experience to the person who recommended me go there (white person). They were a completely shocked and disgusted how this vet place treated me and my animal and how unprofessional it was. My experience with other vet clinics are they sanitizer room before you go in there, and also wearing gloves would be a great thing especially when you're handling needles and I don't know where your hands have been you could say you washed it but you know germs can come in your hands very quickly. When giving shots they should be on a table not a long lounge chair like some backdoor veterinarian. Overall wouldn't go back you get what you pay for and I'll stay in the city with the high prices and the professionalism then going to the ghetto of new market

Amazing vets! Have looked after our pup since we brought him home and our visits were always amazing full of knowledge and Bane loves all the staff. They have also looked after a dog of ours through her passing and staff were sympathetic and great through whole process. Highly recommended!

I took my cockatoo to this vet due to a severe condition of plucking of her feathers. We were treated with the absolute best care I could have asked for. They were so loving and caring and treated her like their own. They informed me with so much information on her situation and made sure she was in the best hands. I am not from this area and so we had to drive out of town to get to this vet but it was well worth it to ensure she got the best treatment. Even after she was home they continued to reach out asking how she was doing and wanted updates on her progress. I would recommend this vet to anyone that is needing. Thank you again so much Hillside Veterinary and to all the amazing animal caregivers I had the pleasure of meeting.

My pet, Bobba, has been going to Hillside vet clinic for the past two years and although he has a lot of anxiety, the staff are always extremely patient and friendly with him. Today, I went for my dog’s ear infection on an emergency basis and they provided me with an appointment. Dr. Justin was so patient, actively listened, and really took the time to provide excellent care. Highly highly recommend!

They were able to calm my big baby Luna and give her medication and clip her nails with ease. Total pro's. This is a big accomplishment where many have failed before. They even got her on the scale-150 lb baby that she is. Great job.

I am very disappointed, my mother in law went to Hillside Veterinary Clinic with her dog the other day. She said the staff did not seem to take there job’s very seriously. She said they were all sitting around and not helping her with any of her questions regarding her dog and overheard them just talking about there personal lives and gossiping in the reception area. She also said there was a lady behind her who said she was standing there for a while waiting to be helped. My mother in law, nor I will be returning or recommending this clinic due to their low professionalism.

They did great with my kitten:) 100% will be back. If you’re looking for a reputable vet, I recommend Hillside.

Wanted a different vet for my new pup, glad I chose hillside. I love the transparency in pricing, and prices are better than my previous vet. They take good care of my baby. Only downside is that it can be hard to get appointments quickly.usually fully booked.

Our visit was great and really comfortable! Dr. A Banerjee handled our conure very well and provided us with a lot of information to keep him healthy. Will definitely be bringing our conure here for his biannually check ups.

Have been going to Hillside since I moved to the area in 1988. Dr. Rafman and her team have guided me through my 3 goldens - Obie, Fargo and Dodge. Unfortunately since Dr. Rafman has sold her clinic it has lost its personal touch with pet owners. Vets seem to be in a rotating door. I haven’t had the same vet now since then. Dr. Brandon Laing was supposed to be that new substitute for Lorna and the vet I developed trust and comfort with but now he only visits the clinic one day a week to do surgeries. It’s seems like a clinic that’s like any other now. Despite that it’s still worth visiting for some issues. Note that it has become very busy and parking is an issue now.

Dr Brendon was very thorough with explanation on vacations plus possible side affects. All went well and no side affects, so another great visit.

We have been going to Hillside for over 10 years. The staff have always been knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend them to anyone.

The reception was rude and impatient with me. As a new pet owner, I am just starting to learn about pet care. However, this receptionist treated me as if I was ignorant by asking questions. I was bringing new business to this clinic but because of her attitude, I decided not to go there. Very unfortunate experience.

Newmarket, you are lucky to have a vet clinic like this. We travel from the West end of Toronto to see Dr. Campoli because she is wonderful. She took care of our mastiff with complex heart problems at the end of his life in such a compassionate way, always prioritizing his comfort over unnecessary diagnostic tests, and we can't say how much we appreciate her providing care and trusted advice about our very elderly dog recently. She is thorough and takes the time to listen, and has your pet's best interests at heart.

I've had pets as a part of my family for over 30 years. Hillside is by far the best vet there is. A perfect example of the level of care and service you will receive from them comes from my dog's most recent appointment. She was spayed, and when I arrived to pick her up all of the staff had signed her cone sending wishes for a speedy recovery. I don't trust anyone else with my furry family members.

My puppy Thor is always happy to go with the staff at Hillside Vet Clinic. They are so friendly and attentive to his needs. With him being my first dog, it's comforting to know that the staff is informative, thorough, caring, and excited to see him when we arrive. I would recommend this clinic.

Let me first of all say I believe that this vet is first class when it comes to taking care of our animals.
However when it came to making the decision to having to put our dog down and we were not able to be with our dog in his final moments I have not forgot this. Our animals are part of our family and to not be with him in his final moments was very disturbing to me.
Please change this stance because I am sure that I am not the only person that this has happened to.

A year ago I gave a glowing review for Hillside, having been a client for 30 years. Now I am adjusting my perspective. Is it due to COVID or just changing business practises? Visits with the vet occur by dropping off our beloved pet at the door and speaking with the doctor over the phone. This is acceptable.the vet service seems no different than previous. However, I find what has drastically changed is the administration and communication. No longer do you speak with a person on the other end of the phone when calling in - simply leave a message and someone will get back to you. Booking appointments.get a call back - very inconvenient. Calling in for refill prescriptions took four phone calls back and forth.these were simple repeats.not impressed. My cat was on death’s door and with no openings on a weekday I ended up going to the Emergency Clinic. Thankfully she survived. And when my recovering cat came back for follow-up blood work (previously blood test results come back in 48 hours and they did so at Emergency as well) - we waited 6 WORK days for results. When I called to ask when the results would be available. I was told. SOON! I can appreciate everyone is busy, however these changes are just totally 360 to our previous experiences.

Was great with our Kitten, got a bit of attitude with our older cat, who is heavilyover weight. Plus no discussion on cost, only after the fact or when we asked the specific price.

Awesome and very through vet! Highly recommend. Handles big dogs, like Xena, wonderfully! Great covid protocols in place as well

Our dog Peanut has been going to Hillside Veterinary Clinic since we first brought her home at 8 weeks. The Veterinarians do an amazing job in keeping our girl happy and healthy. The staff greets you at the door with a smile and are very attentive of your needs. We recently had our dog groomed for the very first time and we were pleasantly surprised that she was able to give her a good trim given that we can hardly cut one nail. When we picked her up, she looked beautiful!

They took the time to explain the problem with my cats ear on the phone while I waited in my car due to covid. Here it is 6 months later and my boy has lost weight they did blood work and found he had pancreaitus and put him on a antibiotic and time will tell the staff were warm and caring.

I've had many fur baby's and have seen many veterans.hillside is by far the best experience I've ever had they even charged me far less then what I was expecting. I've just started coming here but my experience so far has been wonderful. I have a very difficult cat and many vets in the past have made me feel terrible about bringing him in, but when I come here there is no shaming or negativity, everyone is so kind when speaking with me and I can tell they care about providing the best care for your animals.

Definitely not ideal not to be in the room with my dog and vet but creatively done in order to communicate effectively with vet.

I love the Hillside Vet Clinic. From the very first time I took my pup here he has been treated like a member of the family. They always provide the extra time to explain everything about your animal. I highly recommend them as your vet and will always suggest you take you pets here because they will be in great hands.
