Hilltop Middle School

School's fine. Many good teachers but toilets were constantly set on fire, there were fireworks and smoke bombs exploding in the hallways and in the park, setting stuff on fire. We got banned from Dollarama like three times because of theft, now there are police and security guards monitoring the plaza. Last year, the school had to evacuate because of a gas leak and fire in the kitchen. Every neighbour around this school hates it. Also the abandoned school beside it is really creepy. Half of Hilltop itself is basically abandoned, every year they close more and more sections of the school, including the pods, the forbidden hallway and the god awful basement. You can get hit by the fireworks and they hit a car once smashing the windshield and the door. One time there were fireworks blowing up on the busy street causing cars to go crazy. There were constantly fights for literally no reason and a supervisor got jumped. One of the teachers has bipolarism or something and locked three kids in a dark room. If you walk outside it's not uncommon to find random scents such as "blueberry muffin" or "cinnamon ginger blend" because of vaping. The bathrooms are in horrible condition they smell so bad and they stink up the hallways and there is constantly clogged sinks and one time the toilet exploded and sewage was poured out 3 everywhere years ago. There is about 4 kids that got arrested or put on trial because of events.

Maybe the worst school I've ever heard of or been to. In my 3 years of being here I watched people haemorrhage and barf all over because they were getting beaten to death while the teachers did nothing. This school is the most backwards place I've ever seen, the teachers are helpless and the students are in charge. Everyone has dirt on some other person and staying neutral in any conflict makes you a victim of both sides. There is no good ending to going to this school.

Do not send your child here. It is hell on earth.

Best school ever! I went here for grade 6 and 7 and i will definitely be coming back for grade 8, this school has some bad quality but who doesn't i would 100% suggest sending your kids here for a good middle school experience

Worst school EVER! Please, please, please save your child and do not send them to this school.
My son was bullied to the point where he did not want to go to school anymore and begged me to let him stay home. After doing my research, I found out that this school has no control of the students. Desks are being thrown around in the classrooms, fights and students being beaten up at recess.
I spoke to the Principal, who I must say is an individual that just collects a paycheque. She gave me the whole ‘we take these concerns very seriously’ but low and behold she did nothing.
I escalated this to the superintendent of the school who is dually incompetent. I asked for my child to be transferred to another school, and they did not move a finger to accommodate.
I spoke to the Trustee, and he too another paycheque collector.
I sold my house and moved to a different school district.
My son is happy, I am happy, and we have found a school that is accommodating in every way. The teachers and principal are amazing. The best decision of my life was leaving this school!
Safe your child, and get them OUT!
