I contacted David in desperation because I had some important files in Filemaker Pro 2 from the 1990s that I used to access on an old computer which is no longer available to me. David cheerfully took on the task and, as an act of kindness and solidarity during the Covid-19 crisis, refused to charge me a penny. He joked that getting these ancient files into a modern Filemaker format was an “archeological expedition” that was fun. I don’t know how much fun it really was for him but he certainly did me a great favour and I am very grateful to him.
