Ho Ban Korean Restaurant

Hadn’t been here for a long time and couldn’t remember why. After getting the food I remembered why. Got take out and the portion size was unbelievably small. The bimbimbap cost $15 and was only half the container. (See photo. That was original portion size) The Doenjang Jjigae contains “vegetables” which was 95% onions and really salty. It’s soup with lots and lots of onions. If you love onions it’s the dish for you.

Tried it again, food seems to have improved. I love the food there and hope they don't screw it up and have to close down.

Food is ok as usual. We were in the middle of the dinner around 6: 10pm and the female staff asked us to pay first cause she would finish her shift soon. First time I have encountered this kind of situation in dine-in. She would like to get the tips before her shift finished. Really sucks

Eh the food was mid and could be better. Server was friendly and attentive by coming by offering Banchan refills. The KFC was offered in boneless and wings only, they were crispy but not enough flavour.

Food is a total fail. We ordered pork bone soup with ramen, and SamGyeTang (ginseng chicken soup).
Pork bone soup is missing a lot of flavours. And missing potatoes and a lot of other spices. There are only 3 SMALL pieces of pork bones, similar to 1.5 pieces in other places.
The SamGyeTang is no flavour of ginseng at all. And no ginseng visible in the soup.
So no, I won't visit again.

I decided to try a new korean place with my friends, and we all enjoyed our meals. I didn't take pictures of all of it, but we ordered dumplings and tteok ramen as well. I got the gamjatang jeongol, as well as the fried chicken (half & half- yangnyeom & soy garlic). The portions for all the dishes we got were good, and the price was very reasonable. The fried chicken was hot and crispy, and the flavours complimented the chicken well. The broth for the gamjatang jeongol was also really good. It's suggested as a 2-person dish but can honestly feed 3. The side dishes were also great. The server we got was also really patient and nice as well. Would definitely come back!

Third time going here from North York:) portions are huge ; the family is very nice, and the jjangmyeon is delicious!

It used to be my favourite Korean restaurant when it called Gabin. We ordered chicken bimbibap and grilled fish with tofu soup. The chicken is taste less not even grilled or fried just boiled. The grill fish is fine. No one will come to you for service, you have to go and get them for attention. When I asked for bean sprouts small dishes the 1st time, they said they don’t have. Unbelievable. I do not think I will come back anymore. There were only one more table occupied on a Sunday lunch time, now I know the reason.

Every dish is flavourful. The soups and broths, in particular, are fantastic. Kimchi rice is another notable one. Banchan dishes are a bonus. Always feeling satiated and wanting to come back after each meal. The owners of the place (I believe?) are nice. Only downside is the size of the restaurant - a little small and may have to wait during busy weekend times.

This used to be our go-to spot for Korean cravings, but I think there was a change in management. After a few month’s absence, we decided to try it again. Upon entering, there were only a few customers seated, and I was told to “sit in a front corner table” because, “it was going to be busy, and they had reservations. ” Okayyyy …

We hadn’t seen the two staff members before, and I can only say, the service was “brisk. ” The Gamjatang shrunk dramatically, the bowl itself is much smaller, with 3 pieces of pork bones. Banchans are reduced to five, but they do offer refills. The KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) consists of small pieces, though still crispy.

To be honest, I couldn’t eat fast enough so I could leave! Literally! It pains me to say this, but I left like my pants were on fire. Unfortunately, this will be our last visit.

I ordered potato and pork bone soup, but I don't understand why there are no potatoes. Service: there is no service at all except the food served, no service, no service. I will never go again, no future.

A very authentic Korean restaurant! I think it's a good place to have dinner with friends and I will recommend it to my friends. I recommend the pork bone soup and yangnyeom chicken most, they are delicious and the portion is very generous! ! ! The waiters are also very efficient and kind.

Showed up looking for a table of 2. They then decided to give our table away to a group that came in after us. (there were other tables available) Told us to sit down at a table without any chairs. After I had gotten some chairs myself, we didn't receive any menus after 5 mins. (the group that came after us got served) Pretty terrible service for a place that wasn't filled with customers.

One of my friends worked here and said the kitchen is not sanitary.
They were asked to replace rusty shelf in refrigerator by city health inspector but they sprayed paint to shelf without covering food.
Please be cautious going this place.

Service was very fast. Got the soy garlic and the sweet and spicy chicken wings. The soy garlic is more flavourful.

Quick and easy to reserve. Communication and servings are good. Please try this place. Also have a lot of options to choose.

One of my favourite places to go. They cater more towards the Chinese taste though in my opinion. Lots of the items taste very sweet or very salty. Our stay here is usually met with good service.

Solid Korean restaurant in Scarborough! The boneless chicken had an interesting texture (more meat and juicier than it looks), and the kimchi is on point

The stir fry pork here tastes weird, like they boil it and then put it on a stone plate. The beef bulgogi was really good. The seafood pancake was not good at all. We all ate one to tried but threw the rest away. The pork bone soup is not bad but when I asked for no bean sprouts, she got upset at me? When they didn't even put it inside the soup anyways? I asked for the seafood soon tofu soup at first but when I asked for no zuchinni WHEN IT'S AN ALLERGY, she raised her voice at me. The rice cakes are good but there aren't any fishcakes in it. All in all, i would only come back for the beef bulgogi.

In one word: Average. None of the dishes we ordered really stood out. Kimchi that was served doesn't seem to be home made, but rater the generic store bought kimchi. The other sides were average too.
The garlic wings were the best dish out of the bunch we ordered.

My friends and I ate here after a busy evening at Activate. The side dishes and food were good! The portions were also big. The servers were very hospitable and helped us pack up any leftovers. We'd definitely come back in the future!

Good food, generally speaking good customer service besides a younger gentleman in his 20s-30s. Very rude and disrespectful. He brushed me off with "ya ya ya"s and just walked away when approached him regarding a price discreptency on the menu and what they actually charge. Their excuse is the pricing of ingredients went up, which that in itself is understandable. But the menu needs to reflect what we pay. I've brought this up to them several months ago and the lady I spoke to the other time was very nice and says multiple customers have brought this up but I guess the owner doesn't care about it. Check your bills before you pay. My experience is with their green onion chicken. Not sure about other items.

The food here is SO GOOD and it's such a good price. $60 for two people, including a bottle of soju! Also the waiter/manager is so nice.
