Great displays. Excellent customer service. Very happy with our purchases and their prices.

They are pretty friendly, but it was not a great experience. They low-ball very hard on jewelry. Take your jewelry anywhere but here if you want a decent price. They sell watches, which they then declare are worthless. I bought two watches from them last year for $200. They wouldn't even make an offer on them today.

So remember, if you are buying a watch there, get a low price because the other side of the store is going to say it's worth $0 if you try to sell it back. Zero. That's what watches are worth to them. The sticker in the jewelry department may say $200, but really, it's really worth $0 to them.

They will put a sticker on something for $100 and then say it's worth nothing a year later. It's a pawn shop, so pretty standard. People pretend they are better than most. They aren't.

I think they may be good if you want to sell broken DVDs and chewed up Barbi's and junk like that, but the market for nice things just isn't there, they'll be the first to admit it.

Would be very careful bringing stereo equipment to this location. It took them 20 min to plug in a set of bookshelf speakers and then they said left one wasn’t working. Brought them home tested them, they worked fine. They said that about two different speakers I brought in, brought them to another location to sell both, they worked fine there too.

Fantastic service! Every worker was very accommodating and they allowed me to test the product out before I bought it!

This post is months overdue! How it slipped my mind I have no idea.oh yea I do KIDS! I never actually been to the location prior to this experience and wow. I cannot express how much we were helped, cared for and respected. Going in there with 3 kids is not a breeze. The staff were so patient, kind and knowledgeable. Thanks to Dakotah we saved hundreds of dollars! I am blown away at the honesty and integrity at this Hock Shop. Wow thank you for your lovely service for a Mama who knows NOTHING about gaming or the products that go with it. Also I can’t explain the patience of the woman helping us with games, my kids kept changing their mind and took a while to choose, she was nothing but an angel to us and so patient. This may not be a regular review for a buy and sell shop but it is beyond deserved. From the bottom of my heart! Thank you!

They don't buy used Powerbeats Pro in ear headphones for "hygiene purposes" but every part on the headphones can be cleaned and sanitized. People buy these headphones online so theres clearly a market for them. If you ask me its a pathetic policy. By the way the guy who told us this said they only buy new sealed headphones, tell me whose gonna buy 330$ headphones and not use them? Unused headphones usually get sold online not in a pawnshop

Usually the staff is pretty helpful and the store's prices are fair, however, I caught them attempting to sell a broken item I had returned for the same price I bought it from them for originally.
This is also after they were reluctant to give me my money back when I tried to return said broken item, saying they "normally only do in-store credit".

Will rip you off left right and center they will offer you next to nothing for any Item you're offering then resell it for 4 times the amount. If you are planning to sell any Items there is a better pawn store just down the road off of Bayfield that actually will give you a fair amount.

I frequently visit the pawn shops for a variety of things. I can honestly say the hawk shop is the most professional, clean and trustworthy pawn shop by far. Everyone is always polite, never pushy well knowledgeable about what they are selling and pretty fair on the pricing. Excellent pawn shop in my opinion.

Great place to go sale some items. They always have fair offers and they are never unreasonable. If your looking to sale something and get some cash this is the place to go. The employee are always polite and great to talk to. Outstanding customer service

Great selection of games, DVDs, and other cool stuff! Staff are friendly for the most part, and you can sometimes snag a great find for an amazing price! I've been a Hock Shop customer since the mid-1990's, and I'll keep popping in to this location whenever I can:)

Horrible service period staff there fukn rude. You don't need sheep masks, masks arent needed.you guys don't deserve to have business not the way you talk to customers and treat them like trash your not gonna make no business like that.

I would just like to vent my frustration on the store manager at this place i brought a ps5 into them got 400 for it on loan literally 5 mins later i didnt need the money and i came back just remember this is 5 mins later and the guy charged me half the service fee which was 65 dollars and i been dealing with them for over 7 years it made me feel so mad and upset.this place already rips u off for selling things and if the loans under 300 best believe your paying 30 percent on what they give u.

Bought a ring from their website, I spoke mostly with Jason who was always willing to help, went above and beyond to assist me—even reached out to other locations outside of his own to ensure I was satisfied. I was honestly hesitant to purchase from a pawnshop but all in all it wad a good experience and would buy again.

What amazing staff, can't thank y'all enough.

Guy who runs the store there (was never given his name) needs an attitude adjustment. I went in there to sell something and was greeted with a "turn it on" outside when I arrived to sell something. No "hello" no "how are you". Had his arms crossed like he was above me and I was below him. He is lucky he caught me on a good day. Never felt so disrespected in my life, and I am an owner. I would never treat my customers anywhere near this. He drives a reddish Dodge Truck and he is white about 5"9.

Do yourself a favor visit any other pawn/hockshop if you want to get more for your stuff seriously check around

Half your dvds and games are scratched, you have dvd box sets priced the same as brand new and ps2 in the box isn't worth 120, just because you researched the highest price on ebay doesn't mean its worth that, i like your store but a bit disappointed on your price jacking on used things that are worth less, your a hock shop have some more sense

Very poor customer service experience with associate Gem. She doesn't want to take the time to accurately appraise my items. So won't even bother bringing a item in again.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with my tv when I brought it in to be pawn and buy it back. I got it back there’s a line down the middle of the screen. I moved out of city the day after I found out (I called the day I picked it up but they were closing) I don’t drive and live 3 hours away and they are telling me I have two weeks to bring it back and switch it out or bring it back and they give me $65 for it.

Chris, who works in the guitar/music area, always does a phenomenal job at cleaning or restringing my guitars. He even goes above and beyond and does some general maintenance; and does it all for an absolutely unbeatable price; always impressed.

Before, COVID-19, the staff at this location have always been great with customer service, and still to this day they have remained the same. I ordered, online, two products that arrived fast, nicely packaged & in perfect condition. Thank you, Hock Shop ;) -CR

Plenty of power tools in stock so you would think they would budge on price. Think again. Went straight over to another nearby second hand store and found a similar drill, and with higher amperage at the same price. They dropped the price $29.00 lower without hesitation.

These guys sure are crooks charging 100 times more than what they buy from desperate customers.

The service I recieved in your store was above an beyond. My wife and I came in to buy our daughter a tablet that would run my daughter's games.

We originally were just browsing then we were approached by your Sale Supervisor Dakotah.

The tablets all ranged from $29 to $299. We figured that she could just use a $29 tablet but Dakotah assured us this wasn't the route we wanted to go for functionality and longevity.

He explained to us everything from the Android Software Versions to the storage to the price point he felt was right for us.

Dakotah could have sold us a $300 tablet but pointed us in the direction of a $179 tablet to give us the best bang for our dollar amount. Which was very appreciated on a fixed income!

He also took the time to show my 8 year old how to use certain functions.

It was a great experience, filled with a lot of information I didn't know before hand.

My first time in your store but certainly won't be the last time!

Chris Oakley is a super salesman. He gave us a super deal on a 12 string guitar and case. The difference is their guitars are kept in humidity. From Simcoe Ontario

I love this place. Best deals in town. The manager Dakota helped me out today. Was very reasonable and helpful.

Took a diamond ring here with the intention of buying it back. I Was offered $260.00.
I bought the ring back about two weeks later.
The ring to me did not look the same.
A few weeks after that I took it back to do the same thing, this time I was only offered $150.00.
When I initially got it back after pawning it the first time, I thought it seemed like a different stone.
I purchased the ring new from Micheal Hill at the Georgian mall for $1199.00

Seems a bit fishy that the original pawn price was almost double what it was the second time I brought it in.
Is there any explanation?

Bought a bunch of DVDs that were 1$. I also bought a bunch of CDs that happened to be half off! They had plenty of box sets and special DVDs but they cost more.

Visit for Sunday June 23,2019. Have visited numerous times before. Prices are reasonable and staff helpful. Great selection of tools, electronics, and jewelry. Typically purchase digital games for the kids.

Not really sure I was pleased with the finally outcome of my xbox one s purchase, I just moved to barrie and this place got recommended I went in bought a xbox one s with controller plus purchased 2 games, I then get home only to find out the plug and plug for the controller that came with the bundle dosent not work at all and was limited to a short cord within arms reach of the xbox, I called and was told I could come and get a battery cover so I could at least use my controller with batteries, when i arrived I saw the guy who sold me the system and it was like once he overheard I was there for the cover i called about he lowered his head and avoided eye contact and eventually walked to the back, i then made a comment when receiving my cover that I'll finally be able to play my new system now and then received a "yea atleast I got something". Lol what I really wanted to say is why dident I receive a new charge and play kit that I already purchased with my bundle that dident work, and WHY did my xbox within the last week *of course my Warranty is up now* start overheating and shutting down AS well as my controller continuously randomly shutting down in the middle of vibrations and or games, now dont get me wrong I'm not negative Nelly so today I'm going to come in and search around for a pc and or some electronics and see how my experiance goes and how buying something from there again with not only benefit me but not always give me the worry that the product I buy from there won't be damaged or not working or even stop stop working and start overheating when it's to late to bring back, p.s I build computers fix phones install remote starters etc etc I air dust the console and my 55" curved tv all the time so this wasent due to my misuse

Wide range of things to choose from at reasonable prices, everything we have bought from here has been in good shape and lasted along time.

Normally a great experience but when trying to shop at 3pm on Boxing Day, we were not allowed in and were told they were closed but when checking online the hours for boxing day stated they were supposed to be open until 5pm. Wasted gas for a whole lot of nothing.

I'm a regular here! Awesome store, the guys all know pretty much exactly what they're talking about with an array of different items. Bought a tablet from here a couple weeks ago and it works/looks like it's new from the store!

This is the best place in barrie north to buy used games always find great deals and the employees are always nice and always helps out for a great deal i have been going here for about 5 years now and never once felt i was cheated out on a game or anything else my whole family goes here too
