One of our favorite parks in Ottawa. Amazing energy, nature, air, the sound of rapids and the falls. Beautiful paths, stunning scenery, centuries-old stone plates ones were hidden under the water, now you can walk upon this ancient riverbed.

Such a beautiful spot to go hiking, a little bit of climbing, a little bit of fishing, outdoors weekend, activity at a lovely summer day. Rapids are very accessible and easy to walk to checking out the beautiful behind-the-scenes of Ottawa. Highly recommend this as a great picnic spot and super scenic.

Beautiful falls. Very soothing and calm to be there during sunset and enjoy the view and enjoy the sound of water. Also, has a nice biking trail which goes all the way to Mooney's Bay.

Very beautiful site with free parking. A great place to be with family and friends. Could be used for camping and tracking too.
It's the point where Rideau Canal diverges from the Rideau River.

Had the greatest time at the Hog's Back Falls Lookout! So beautiful and the perfect place for a photo opp. My children loved jumping from rock to rock along the side, and exploring the areas surrounding.

Good for an hour walk. Can go pretty far downriver on the west side. Bridge is under construction summer 2020 but pedestrian paths open.

Such a beautiful rock landscape with fast-moving water. Blue Herons abound. Fed birds on the trail. Spot a fox. Trek along the rocks on the shoreline. Urban Canoe Trip idea: let in art the lock station near Fletcher's Wildlife Garden (reasonably priced parking). Paddle to the lock station at Hog's Back / Colonel By. Pull up and enjoy the area on foot (Mooney's bay, Hog's Back falls, etc). Njoy!

Nice little waterfalls stop so close to the city! A very well designed dam structure that was very well incorporated into the nature.

This is always such a beautiful place to stop at. To see the falls and the scenery is picturesque. I even created a video for friends on You Tube so they can see the beaut of the falls and surrounding area. I brought me back to my teen years when we all would just on the rocks and dive in the rushing water.
Not such a brilliant thing to do in hind sight. To hear the roar and the awesome power of water is beautiful. You can go on a hike anywhere on a number of paths. You can stop at the canteen and get icecream and other tasty treats. You can picnic and cross the road to Mooney's Bay and swim and boat. There is Pirate Adventures for little one too. All of that in the middle of our beautiful City. We are blessed.

A wonderful park that offers amazing view of the falls, great place to have a picnic, has a huge field to hangout and enjoy a peaceful day. Everyone keeps it clean, dogs are on leashes as per conservation officers do visit and it's a bylaw.

Always a nice place to visit wish it had a better place to sit out have a cafe tea or beer. The falls worth seeing though.

Pretty cool waterfalls. Their ppearance changes with the change of season. In the winter when the water flow rate is lower, the fall could freaze up, and present themselves in a totally different fashion. And in early spring of the year, lots of water could come through the water way upstream. That would make the waterfalls look much wilder, with thundering sounds filling up the ears of the spectators. Despite the enormous power, there are still brave souls daring to tame the flow in kayaks. Pretty amazing.

The reason why Dow's Lake was dug. Impassable obstacle on the Rideau River. Great place to bike out to and look at the falls.

Beautiful natural and Man-Made falls at sunset

We finished our day by driving down to this park and found it lightly populated with other people looking to get photos. We had a fund time walking up and down the paths, taking photos, and talking with other folks.

There is a small pavilion where there may be a concert or other things happening (nothing that day) and some bathrooms.

The parts that were natural stone were great and had a nice warmth to them.

Bring your pets and enjoy the sunset!
