I've tried this place 3 times now—their soup base is pretty great, but it's the noodles that aren't doing it for me personally. I'm not sure what it is, but they don't feel like they match the soup & they feel too a bit too stringy & a bit flavourless. However the staff are always friendly and location itself is very nice, I wish I personally liked their noodle quality more!
Ramen is good, appetizers are unfortunately frozen. Would be great if both the dumplings and takoyaki were prepared fresh, would really elevate the dining experience. Service was great!
Lovely place! A bit crampted but overall very lovely. Good music, good food, it has wheelchair access. The service was excellent, too. They are patient and very friendly. I really liked that they had an option for smaller or larger portions of the dishes!
The noodles in the Shoyu Chashu ramen tasted very alkaline compared to other ramen stores. The egg that came with the Tsuke-men was hard boiled, which was disappointing and didn’t seem that traditional. The only thing I liked was the portion of the Chashu. In terms of the service, it was not on par since they had insufficient staff, and we felt pretty left out the whole time when we needed their help. In terms of the atmosphere, we were offered a very small table and we didn’t feel like staying there for a long time. Stay away if you are looking for a place for a gathering or just simply chitchatting with friends.
The place is what you want it to be. Relaxing, the food well was that good that I could eat the plate in order to not waste anything of that broth. My personal experience was miso ramen and hit ever spot possible and impossible. The jazz music at the back let’s you enjoy a conversation or yourself. Love it. I’ll be going there when craving ramen!
Wow! Wow! An amazing location that we came across on the way home! The staff were super friendly, the atmosphere was magical and the food fantastic! Thank you for an amazing meal and time! Worth a visit or several!
I ordered tsukemen, the soup is so-so and only tasted like soy sourde with green onion oil. I expected the soup would be more thick.
The most disappointed part was the customer service. When I was still sipping my drink, the staff came and asked if we want to order dessert or get the bill. There were 2 people in queue.
The whole meal was around 30 mins and I saw they did the same way to the other table. I would feel better if they are less pushy.
Great taste but a little salty. You can adjust the saltiness which I will do as well if I return. No option for extra noodles other than getting a large size which was disappointing seeing their portions are on the smaller side. The noodles I think are pricy considering the portions. Service was ok but people who arrived later and ordered later got their food before us.
Great authentic flavours that reminded me of my time living in Japan! Will come back here every time I need to relive the nostalgia for sure! (Photo: Kara-Tsukemen Omori)
Disappointing experience (food only) compared to their dundas location. I was so looking forward to having it again after a great first experience at their downtown location.
Takoyaki wasn't fresh, lukewarm at best as if it sat for a while. Their shio broth didn't have as deep of a flavour as I remembered. Lacked body and depth. Will not return to this location even though parking is more convenient than dt.
Always one of the BEST and our favorite Ramen in Japan and Toronto! Their Shio Tonkotsu Ramen is the BEST! Always nice to talk to Japanese staff and we can order in Japanese that makes us happy. Just feel like we are back in Japan. Very clean and welcoming atmosphere, Japanese style service is comfortable and just perfect! Too bad this location doesn’t serve Ikura don which is my daughter’s favorite. Will go back to Dundas location for Ikura don soon!
Overall 3.5 stars. The regular pork ramen is good, nothing to write home about. However, the vegetarian ramen was NOT it! Vegetarian ramen had no flavour at all. Don’t go for the vegetarian ramen! Service was fast and friendly though.
Check out this ramen place for the first time and was a little underwhelmed. The serving size is pretty small so you might have to order some more sides. I got the winter special (clam chowder ramen) it was decent but I wouldn’t order again, my friend got the original shoyu and that one tasted the best, would recommend that
No matter what’s your opinion but when a Korean guy/girl speaks everything seems flowing and sparkling. I mean language is so addictive for ears. Talking about food it’s was our first time for Korean and we were totally satisfied with everything.
I tried their fried chicken and spicy vegetarian ramen. The food is delicious. Chicken was juicy and tasty. The ramen was so flavourful and the portion size was huge. I could barely finish it. The egg on the side was the best though. Not giving 5 starts as they didn’t have a chicken ramen on the menu!
Came here because of the hype of being a Michelin star restaurant. I was expecting a super tasty broth but it was too similar to the other ramen shops that I would just recommend going there instead.
It is priced at a more premium price than Santosei, Tohenboku, or Kinton.
Will say that it does not live up to the hype.
However, staff were super pleasant to deal with and this review reflects the restaurant experience only.
The ramen was good but not amazing. The fruit mochi was awful. They used artificial flavouring for the fruit instead of real fruit. I felt like I ate a giant fuzzy peach.
Pleasant staff, excellent packaging for take-out - I guess that’s factored in to the cost…over $20 for spicy veggie ramen with an egg added, didn’t seem worth it. Unfortunately they got my order wrong and gave me kale noodles instead of egg (do not recommend). Perhaps with egg noodle would have been more enjoyable? Unfortunately tonight’s dinner was very disappointing - tasted more salty than spicy, and not enough veggies compared to soup.
Staff is undoubtedly the greatest asset and your organization should be proud of your assets. Every single staff out there was just amazing. Must recommended! Will not just come back again, but again and again.
I'm glad they opened up a location in midtown. It would be even better if they have a location uptown; somewhere in Markham /Richmond hill/Vaughan.
Their menu and quality is consistent with their downtown location. Ordered the usual menu, and it brought back what I missed since we haven't been to the downtown location for over 2 years.
Omg! So amazing. Got a street patio setting for 5. Pork dumplings, edemame, spicy Ramen and of course the fried chicken. Special thanks to the waitstaff, getting closer to using chopsticks like an adult. Can't wait to dine again!
Toroniku Kara-Miso Ramen 21.45 cad was good. I wish it came with the egg. I also got Asahi on draft 12 oz 6.95 cad which was good. I think the ramen is a bit overpriced? Maybe I just haven't been out and missed the inflation after the covid happened.
The food is good, but unfortunately the amount of time you have to wait to be served is too much. If you have an extra hour to spare just to be served, by all means. The place is nice, and the food is good
I go to the Dundas location all the time and I've come here 5-6 times recently. My last time here - the ramen was extremely salty way beyond the norm. It was completely inedible. This location needs better quality control over the broth.
This is where quality meets hospitality. A cozy spot with very fast, kind and attentive staff who are committed to providing a guaranteed great experience. Not to mention how delicious the ramen is - a rich, quality broth which has clearly been carefully perfected. You can literally taste the quality in every bite. 10/10 experience.
I had a craving for sakura mochi and Tsujiri wasn't answering their phone so I searched Instagram and found that Santouka was having a special offering. Called and reserved two then decided to order shoya cha shu ramen with an ajidama, kimpira, and the shrimp&tofu salad, too. All were super delicious, but it was Tsukasa's amazing customer service that really put the ball out of the park. She asked if we needed cutlery (way too many places don't and I hate that!) as well as labelled and drew flowers, etc on all our containers. She even wrote me a little note hoping I enjoyed the sakura mochi and wishing me to stay well and safe. I was going to have a good day anyway as soon as I found the sakura mochi, but Tsukasa made it extra amazing!
Ordered with Uber eats. Excellent delivery time and look at the lil octopus on the Takoyaki! It's these details that make eating ramen at home more enjoyable.
I certainly enjoyed the food and service, fantastic location right next to my apartment. The cashiers are always very welcoming. Will visit here again.
Friendly, fast service. Delicious ramen. I love that you can ask for less salty broth. A tad pricier than some other ramen places, yes, but I found it well worth it. Excellent quality ingredients, perfectly cooked noodles, nice ambiance.
I'm not a ramen fan but glad they had other items to the menu. The I got the beef and veggie plate. It was small but well made. My other friends got ramen and enjoyed their meal. The mulled wine was delicious.
The space is tight but still able to accomodate a big group. We did make a reservation but were given the table 20 minutes later.
The service was very friendly. Accessible bathroom at the main floor but it's a tight space for a wheelchair.
This place was simply okay. The service was fast, the soup had very little meat portions. It was roughly $50 for two servings of soup. Wouldn't go back tbh. Nothing special.
