Holiday Inn Burlington-Hotel & Conf Centre

We live locally, but when our carpets were being cleaned we decided to stay overnight at the hotel and take advantage of the pool facilities. I was very disappointed in the hotel. Looking worn down and dated. We called the front desk 3 times from our room - no one answered. Called the hotel direct from my cell phone - no one answered. When we went downstairs - 3 people were sitting around? The pool area is terrible. The bottom of the pool was dirty and the water smelled! The hot tub and sauna area is all torn up and a big mess. Should have been blocked off if they were working on it. Not a very pleasant stay. Would not go back to this hotel.

No early check in or late check out seamed like anything you asked for was not allowed or avaliable. Room was in ruff shape. The restaurant was buffet for breakfast and dinner they where ok

I have a medical condition that requires me to have a certain amount of vitamin K every day. I'd forgotten to have some the day we checked in and the lady at the front desk found me some green tea satchels from the employee break room and gave me some. Friendly, professional, expedient check in, clean room and comfortable.

Usually like this hotel but just a comment. When you have a large group of kids in your hotel you need to have some control over what is happening. 2 nights in a row we had running, screaming, rough housing up and down hall way and stairs well past 1 am. Your center part of hotel had this group of kids doing the same things well after 1 am as well. We complained and still it kept up and even started again around 4am. Was not an enjoyable stay this time.

Not a great hotel. Old/dated. Staff friendly but only progrmed key for one night had to reset next night. The room wasn't cleaned (multiple night stay). Room smells like smoke. Bad smell in the bathroom.
Awful noise from 7 in the morning from construction happening across our room. Sheets all wrinkled looked slept in. Gave 2 stars because Beds are comfy and there is decent coffee

Haven’t stayed at this hotel for a few years but was always ok It has now gone way down hill Needs a lot of work. Rooms are in bad shape, carpets throughout hotel are old and dirty, screen doors in rooms are all ripped and don’t open. Room smelt very mouldy and infested with ants we slept in car half the night, perhaps closure has taken it’s toll but stayed in Collingwood Holiday Inn night before and was like the Tashma Hall compared to this. Lol! Hard to believe same brand name is on this hotel.

Hotel was very outdated, room on the first floor smelled very musty, like it had previously flooded.

Between the rude night desk clerk, the mystery splatters on the walls, the stained bed skirts, the awful barely working shower and the rock hard bed, not sure what part of our stay was the worst. This isn’t a 3 star hotel, it’s worse than a motel.

I had reservations at this hotel on june 10th just for the night. The room was great and the check in was great. I was travelling with my mother and my 1year old son. Everything was great until 4: 30am came around and the fire alarm started going off. I had checked the hallway and surrounding around nothing seemed to be going on. I had called the front desk and she had said “ there doesn’t seem to me a fire but I would evacuate just in case” so I woke up my son, and evacuated. Then I had over heard her telling the fire fighter that this had happened last week and it was a sensor that was loose and triggers the fire alarm. Finally got back up to our room, had to calm down my son and try to get him back to sleep and finally when we all fell back asleep at 9: 30 the alarm went off again. We should have been told about this before we checked in. “ the fire alarm may go off” and we could have decided to keep the reservation or not. Which I would not have stayed. But upon checking out, the receptionist did not offer any type of apology. Didn’t even bring the alarm up. When I had said “ I hope that alarm doesn’t keep going off” she just laughed and said “ haha yeah” I have worked in customer service for about 10 years now and the way she handled that was not expectable!

Ok for the price. Just couple of comments: Rooms need more vaccum
found a "chocolate bar" under sofa bed:). Towels very white but we're folded humid and smell no that good.

We had made numerous inquiries as to costs for a long time stay. All staff were patient and professional with responses.

Always a pleasant experience at this location - Lucy and the staff there are amazing, the beds are beyond comfortable, and the place is kept spotless. Highly recommend to anyone passing through Burlington or looking for a little staycation!

It was an excellent place to stay. All staff were extremely very helpful in every way. Felt just like home. Sad to have to leave.

The restaurant and bar are closed. False advertising. Rude hostesses. My experience so far has been unacceptable. Will make further updates, as stay progresses.

Edit: Ended up being kicked out of the hotel for smoking after specifically being told that the room was smoking. No warning. When I talk to the manager, Alyssa McGraw, on the phone, she was very pleasant. When she came up to the room to bring me breakfast, her whole demeanor changed when she saw me. I am a disabled person and colored. As is usually the case, people are given warnings. This hotel does not accept either disabled or people of color.

Poor Wifi signal.
Other service have been reduced due to covid.

Good meeting facility. But honestly, they haven't spent a nickel in that hotel aside from a light fresh up of the lobby a few years back. The guest rooms need attention. The rates are very reasonable though.

I was very disappointed. Neither one of our phones worked. Our TV converter didnt work and our sink was plugged. I went down to the main desk to tell them there were some issues. The girl working the desk came up to the room to check it out. She brought a new converter however didnt connect it to the TV so it was useless. She also did nothing about the other issues and didnt get back to us. For the amount they're charging I expected more then that. I wouldn't stay again. Very disappointing.

Worst experience ever I will never stay there the staff was very rude especially the manager. I will truly recomend The Best Western Inn that is only 4 min away the suff is so amazing and all payment options are available.wouldl stay away from Holliday Inn

If I could I would give negative stars. I stayed here for a wedding in July and if I could've stayed someplace else I would have. To summarize: My mother's room had bedbugs and when she complained and asked to be moved the hotel did nothing she had to go to urgent care when she returned home. My 3 year old went to the lobby with my sister one day and came back up talking about blood being on the floor. Apparently there was somehow blood on the floor in the lobby and it tracked into the only working elevator and they put a cone on it and my sister had to tell them to clean it out of the elevator, which they did not do a good job of because there was still some on the floor later that day and little kids were walking barefoot to the pool. I had to alert their parents that the red stuff on the elevator floor was blood. I am not from Canada but I would imagine there are laws about blood born pathogens and proper cleaning of them. The electricity in my room would go out if you used too many things at once, like your air conditioner was on and you used the microwave. One night there was a baseball game going on in the atrium at 10 PM and numerous of us called to complain and nothing was done. Their quiet time is 11, but a sporting event should be played outside and they were screaming. Also if your other guests are complaining you should address the issue. When I called the person I spoke with told me I could talk to the people myself (which would've been a bad idea). I tried to call customer care to talk to someone and before I even started talking they hung up, so I tried to contact them via the internet or their web page and that does not work either. I didnt even get my points for the stay, but since I will never stay at another Holiday Inn hotel again after this experience I guess that point doesn't really matter. I do not know how anyone could rate this hotel well and I caution you not to stay here. I would say the only positive is the housekeeping staff was nice.

The staff that we dealt with were all very nice. Our room was overall clean but one of our pillows had what appeared to be some permanent yellow stains on it. We asked for a cot because we had 3 children with us and the springs on the cot they brought were wore completely out to the point where it shouldn't have been in use. The blanket that came with the cot was wore down to the point where it had several good holes in it. Otherwise the room was fine. We used the pool which was very comfortably heated, clean and quite big too! We were a late night walk-in and the price they charged us for the room for five of us was very good.

Very clean. Polite staff. I just find d bed too soft that's d only reason I did not put 5 star. POOL is gorgeous and open till 11pm

Old hotel. Slow elevators. Friendly staff. OK restaurant.
Stay here every couple years and always wish i'd made a better choice.

Like staying at a dorm. Staff doesn't care. Tried calling to complain about the episodes we had but was just put on hold for almost an hour. This is not a good location for people looking to get a good night rest.

First floor rooms with patio doors into the conference room are loud. Hotel is a bit dated and could used some renovations. The good things were that the bed and pillow were comfy and sauna was nice and hot.

Run down conference rooms, the power went out during on of our meetings and we had to be moved to another smaller room.

It's amazing how one front desk staff member can make or break a hotel rating. I stayed one night at this IHG property, hosting a meeting the next day. I had a few questions and required a couple of rental items from the hotel, Carlene from the events office (hope I spelled that right) was super helpful and accommodating. Hats off to the two (guy and girl) who checked me in. Super welcoming and helpful.

My issue comes from my check-out experience and from reading a few other reviews, I'm not the only one who thinks additional soft skills training would be a plus for some staff.
I dropped my room key cards off in the am, Sydney said "thanks" and that's about it. I stood there and waited (on purpose) and she asked if I needed a copy of my bill. I waited for my printout, not sure why the night auditor doesn't see prepaid rooms in the system so a receipt is waiting under the door in the morning. But that's a whole other issue. So I received a copy of my bill, waited.nothing. I then asked Sydney why she didn't ask how my stay was? It's the minimum I'd expect spending 6 months on the road in hotels and being Platinum. Then I got a bit of attitude that she was actually going to ask. Not sure when that would have been. When I dropped my keys off? After I left? Less attitude, more proactive approach to actually giving a damn, not just for when you're dealing with Platinum/Elite members, but for everyone. You're the face of the brand, not sure some staff cares or even realizes that.

The fish wher grate the vendors where cool but 5 min in some lady come basting into the room yelling for everyone to shut up and keep it down

Liked the heated bathroom floor. The location right off the highway was also a bonus. If you want to try the restaurant on the main floor, Alloro. Seemed busy. But there was more restaurants with a variety of food choices across the street. Stone House, Mother Tucker's and Jack Astors to name a few.

Stayed for a work related function. The hotel itself was great and the location was very close to restaurants etc. Unfortunately i had an issue with billing and the hotel charging my credit card numerous times for a one night stay. Other than that the bathroom had only one light bulb out of 3 working and that made thr lighting very dull. My stay was ok but left me with a bad impression unfortunately. With all of choices in the area im not sure if i would stay there again.

Stopped in for a golf show. Lots of parking. Friendly staff but didn't find anything much worth stopping for. Kind of disappointing.

The Atrium.worst idea in history. I'm here for a conference with a child, and discovered that there were pool tables on the other side of the GLASS WALL of my room.
Asked, and was moved to another atrium room. I'm higher, and away from the pool and pool tables, but I can hear individual children's voices, playing in the pool.

I haven't been to holiday Inn in a long time, but when I did I liked it. Bed was very soft & easy to sleep. The food was very good especially breakfast food. It was great that they have a swimming pool so you could swim or just relax in pool.

Hotel was disgusting garbage everywhere no staff to help with issues also extremely loud housekeeping and topped it all with a horrible nights sleep would not stay here agian if my life depended on it!

Terrible place. Everything was dirty and I mean everything. The food was not the greatest and it was expensive. The vending machines were all out of order. 4 of the arcades didnt work. Air hockey didnt work. Phooseball table didnt work. Never coming back here again.

I would avoid this hotel. I have been staying here 4 days for business and there seems to have kids screaming in the corridors and a lot of door banging. They just don't care. If you want to sleep, don't go there.

Have stayed there many times and visited to enquire about reserving a nlock of rooms for a wedding and got the positive infonfrom feont counter to be destroyed next day by sales staff.probably would not stay their again nobody has the same answers when asking question.

My experience is from a dance competiton we attended at rhis location, but it speaks volumes to how this location can handle large events.

Given any amount of cars, your going to get problems. This location luckily has multiple office towers around it so parking in a reasonable distance can be got

The large hall however that was used for the actual competition had a leky roof. One would think that if they had a large event booked that all available steps would be taken to have the propery ready. Sadly the leak started on Friday and just got worse from Saturday through Sunday rather than getting fixed. If you had an event there you wouldnt want thier solution of having someone with a ladder stuff towels every hour into the hole in the ceiling until it started driping too much and replace. This was a dance competition so any water dripping on the stage was really bad. To not bother getting someone on the roof to fix the problem os just bad.

Then you get the resteraunt who ran out of food. Lucky though there are multiple resteraunts around in walking distance.

The hotel was very clean, the staff were super pleasant and the building itself is nice to be in. We went for a profressional event (ToyCon) and thoroughly enjoyed our experience there.

Great hotel for taking your sports team. The kids were able to play mini sticks and games in the atrium where most hotels wouldnt allow it. Only drawback for me personally was not having breakfast included which most other hotels offer

The hotel was clean. Pleasant employees working desk as well as in the restaurant.

The room was comfortable. Bedsheets and linens clean and no bed bugs found on inspection.

The pool looks nice and the hot tub is off to the side in a more secluded area of the pool area. There is also a large atrium with pool table, air hockey and arcade games. Great place for kids to stay!

Our room was great, hallways badly needed vacuuming. I had booked a room for $129 but when I went to check in was told my room was $179. They managed to find us a room for $149. Not impressed with whoever took our reservation over the phone.

Super friendly and professional Front desk lady Allison. Friendly waitress Susan and gentle night assistant manager, East Indian fellow. Clean quiet room. Friendly housekeepers.
