Employee Britney Young is a racist who is condoned my this company, they are aware of her actions and speech towards people of color including harsh slurs and highly disrespectful rhetoric, she claims they have seen and have knowledge of the incident and will not take action even though she advertises she works for them and has made it clear her employment will not be terminated

Very nice hotel and decent staff.
When I checked in, I noticed that the staff warned everyone to take valuables out of their cars as there had been break ins. I figured that I didn't have much to worry about since I was parked very near the lobby door. Once the sun went down I saw why they had a problem as they had absolutely no lighting their parking lot making all the cars an easy target for theives no matter where you park.

Please put in some parking lot lighting in.

Also as is usually the case at Holiday Inn Express, breakfast was not so good as most everything was over cooked. The eggs were brown.

Our stay in this hotel was just amazing, Our room was spacious and clean, the front desk staff and cleaning ladies were fantastic and the breakfast spread was just amazing with many options to choose. The breakfast worth every penny. I stayed twice at this amazing hotel and both times I was super happy with the experience my family and I had.
Definitely staying here again and again. Well done

We’ve stayed here on two occasions and both times were blown away by the staff. Really amazing service from all departments.

On a cross-country trip, had to stay 3 nights instead of one due to car trouble. But, DANIELLE took great care of us, kept us in the same room at the same rate, and reassured us staying longer if necessary would not be a problem!
Cannot explain how much we appreciated that one less thing to worry about!

Our stay at the Holiday In Sault Ste Marie was good. Check in was seamless, rooms were clean and our stay was enjoyable.

First time in a Holiday inn in a long time.stayed for the week and it was a pleasant stay.rooms were nice, clean, and comforrable.had no issues with the internet at all.front desk staff went out of her way to help me.had to sign some papers and she printed everything out for me.all in all a good experience.

Wonderful place to stay, great staff, great pool hot tub, wonderful breakfast, great location. Great parking, wheel chair accessibility, didn't wanna leave. Enjoy it for sure

Nice hotel with nice rooms. The location is close to the waterfront so you can take a nice evening walk and come back quickly. They offer complemetary toiletries when you forget them. Slept well during the night

This was an great hotel who treated us beyond amazing, we had an issue at a prior stay and they were so fast to make things right! They certainly go above and beyond for their visitors! The hotel is located right near so many amenities. Decent parking. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Definitely going to be my go to hotel!

Was fine, the fire alarm made this high pitch dog whistling sound that was just audible enough to annoy me so had to throw a shirt over it. Other than that it was great.

The hotel was clean and service was good, my issue is the parking lot is extremely dark and not well lit at night. If I am paying for parking I expect some decent lighting at the very least.

Great service hotel despite its 2 star rating. Rooms are clean and include everything you need. Breakfast is deliciuos and well organized. Indoor pool is spacious and has an outdoor area to enjoy the warm weather,

Reasonable rooms; I prefer suites and they only seem to have two of the particular type I like.

2 stars for the UNaccommodation of NOT offering a "day rate". Let me explain:

Called front desk and mentioned that I have a late evening flight and wanted to know if there was some kind of day rate/fee I can pay after a certain hour - I'm being told they do not offer them this time of year (when would you offer them then?) and that a full room rate would be charged (for the suite, 188$ PLUS taxes - I've already spent over 800$ including incidentals for just 3 days.no thank you).

"Okay, I guess I'll take your latest checkout of 1 pm"

So now I'll be roaming around town for an additional 5 hours before my flight, possibly with my luggage in hand great!

If I knew about them NOT offering an hourly rate or a "day rate" i would've chose the 5 am flight, but instead went for the 6 pm as it just seemed reasonable. Like I know the management of this hotel KNOWS the frequency of these flights and that there's only three departing daily.

Clean, nice bathroom, comfy bed and nice breakfast to start your day. Helpful staff. Pool looked good but didn't try it out.

We reached in Sault Ste Marie at 3am only to find that we messed up our reservation dates. I tried many hotels and they were all booked. I went to the Holiday Inn Express and they were completely booked too. But Sarah at the reception was extremely helpful and tried to find a workaround to get us the accommodation, while still following her protocol. I appreciate her empathy (she could see how tired we were after 11 hours drive, and we had 2 kids and elderly woman with us).

I cannot thank and appreciate Sarah enough for her dedication and the pleasantness she brings to her role - it’s getting more and more rare to see this kind of hospitality.

When I entered Holiday inn express that day, it was just another hotel to me. But after this wonderful experience, where ever I go - if I have an option to stay in Holiday inn, I will try to do so - my impression of the hotel is built upon the nice treatment I experienced.

The management/leaders of the hotel must be really proud to have Sarah on their team. Keep up the great work Sarah, you turned our holiday into a success by going out of your way to help us. Thank you again!

Parking is a nightmare here. If you can't find a spot on the property you have to park across the street in a mall parking lot. Not secure. Our room was on the first floor. The large room darkening curtains didn't close so getting dressed in the room was potentially and exhibition show. Our washroom only had half a roll of toilet paper. The room was small. The only chair was tiny and stained. We stayed here as it had breakfast and there were no eggs, no sausage, no bacon and wasn't worth the money we spent. I don't like to give reviews like this. It is not the fault of any of the staff we encountered. They were kind and courteous. This hotel really needs to adjust price and service levels. I will never stay here again on our trips north. I expect this will be addressed by hotel management.

Staff at reception were very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean. Wide selection of items at breakfast.

Very poor experience with the Holiday inn, will not to be back.
Front desk staff was rude, and made us feel very awkward upon arrival and while checking out.
Rooms were tiny with minimal amenities.
Tv was not working, hot tub was Luke warm. Too top it all off 5$ for parking in a small street parking lot.
For 215$ A night you could find a better hotel anywhere else.

Very nice, clean hotel. Rooms were well maintained- bedding was very clean and comfortable and staff were very friendly. The only thing that bugged me was that I was charged $5 for parking but the parking lot was very small and there were no available spots and I could not actually park in the hotel parking lot and had to park across the street. So I was charged to park in someone else's parking lot.
Another minor detail was that there were no plugs next to the beds to plug in your phone charger.but other than those minor issues, enjoyed our night!

First time we have ever paid for parking at Holiday Inn Express, and we have stayed across Canada, US and Europe. Breakfast experience was terrible. Long line up, no milk, bread or eggs. Servers were friendly and showed great effort to keep up. Front desk clerk was condescending on check out. On the positive side, room was clean and comfortable. Stayed in 4 Holiday Inn Expresses this trip and this was the most expensive.

It’s a Holiday Inn Express: predictable, clean, efficient, basic accommodation. The Station Mall is right across the street if you need to shop. The Delta Marriott a block away has a really good bar/dining room/patio right by the river. Queen Street a block the other way has some coffee shops, The Queens Tarts being notable.

Rooms are fantastic, and the you can't beat the price. 3 floors, Pool, Hot tub, Sauna, Free Breakfast, Wheelchair accessible, front desk on site 24/7. A lot of third party booking sites say that it has free parking but it doesn't, It's $5/ a night. Right across from the mall downtown and right beside the GFL Memorial Gardens.walking distance to a lot of great food downtown and 5 minutes to the boardwalk.

Very good place to stay. Clean, great staff, breakfast was decent and the ambiance was great. I recommend this Holiday Inn Express to anyone

My experience was absolutely TERRIBLE. A roach fell from the sky, and the sheets were dirtied by some yellowish substance (assuming it was pee). Very low maintenance, will not be staying another second here!

Didn’t actually stay here as when we drove through EVERY SINGLE room in southwestern Ontario was booked but the amazing desk worker who was on at 1030 at night tried calling multiple other hotels to try and find a room for my family and I. Very impressed and on return trips across country if we are stopping in the Soo we will absolutely try to stay here. Very impressed with the service and we didn’t even stay here!

Clean rooms and a comfy bed. Cant ask for much more. Good location many restaurants and breweries within walking distance. Courteous staff.

The curtains were not blackout, didn’t get much sleep coz the morning sun was right in my face at 6: 30am. Here’s a picture of their gourmet breakfast, had to throw away the frozen sandwich coz even after heating it felt like rubber.

As usual IHG is the best choice of hotels all over the world.

Mattress was so bad. Me and my husband had backache. Water was flowing on the bathroom floor, there was no boundary of the shower area. Room structure was really weird. It was expensive. Extra for paking was a surprise.
Hair dryer had hair before I used, I doubt if they cleaned it properly.

Pulled up, had a really good stay and appreciated the level of customer from the staff. Clean rooms and hotel. Doing their best given lockdowns have put a wealth of restrictions on most of the amenities. Right by the water and across from major shopping centre. When lockdowns end it will certainly be a hot spot. Recommend 10/10

Super clean rooms and modern reno - nice job Holiday Inn! It's been a while since I stayed at a Holiday Inn. Big improvement from years past.

Went here for travel, stayed two night. It's a three story building so can’t see many views. There is a one-way street near the hotel be careful when you driving at night. Very good holiday Inn, new, clean, fresh. Stuff are friendly, offer free mask in the lobby. Parking is outdoor in front of the gate. Very close to the St Mary River and a shopping mall nearby. Very close to downtown and the park. Breakfast is a food box, not that taste good. Will stay there again if I travel Set Marie again.

The room was clean. The service was friendly. The breakfast to go bag was more substantial than some other hotels. It even had an Egg McMuffin that you could heat up in your microwave. They paid good attention to covid protocols. The $5 parking fee was an annoyance.

Great experience with Grant at check in and he even made sure a spot for our Tesla was available before we arrived. Traveling long distance with 5 week old so he had closest room to entrance ready and waiting also.

They follow COVID guidelines well, which made us feel safe. Tesla charge stations led us to select them.

Great location, across the street is Station Mall, the only mall in Sault. Old main street right behind with Thai, Chinese restaurant, a beer place and a coffee shop.

Comfy new clean room, nice mattress and decent pillows, great amenities with microwave. Breakfast not serving during covid but they gave us a takeaway breakfast bag which is very nice.

Rooms are not sound proof though so you can hear people talking, laughing in the corridor, hence the 4 star.

Overall, good location, nice clean room with good amenities, comfy stay and pleasant experience.

It was a very clean hotel and staff were polite. The only problem we had is the pool. If you come here for the pool don't as it is so cold. The pool is not heated

I stayed here with my wrestling team for 3 nights and the entire staff was very patient and nice to us all. They accommodated us for breakfast and started it earlier because we had and early tournament. They also had enough towels for us to shower everyday.

Staff were helpful. The breakfast was alright. It was a small hot breakfast which could be improved, but not completely horrible. The facility was clean and maintained well. I would stay there again.

I like Holiday Inn. The rooms are nice. They have a coin laundary. The breakfast buffet has a great selection.

My fav spot to stay at on a one night in town. Rooms are clean, the sauna is nice, and the breakfast is perfect. The area outside is under construction, but thats not a big deal

Location is nice, staff are friendly and professional. The bed was ok, plenty of pillows to choose from. However there was a moldy/Mildew spot in my shower and the breakfast was just ok. I wish they would offer regular scrambled eggs instead of the cheese omelette because I can’t eat dairy.

Stayed in a suite w 2 rooms only one small window that overlooked a roof air conditioner and a piece of plywood.was weird setup.
Hot tub jets dont work. Ice machine wasnt working.
Pop machines only take Canadian quarters and front desk doesnt have any quarters. I wasnt going to charge a bottle of pop.

This is an older building that has not been kept up well. Amenities and general state of cleanliness was far below what I normally see at the HI Express chain.

Enjoyed our stay. Right across from the station mall. Currently there is road construction right out front, but it just made access a little difficult. Looks like they should be done with that within a month or so.
