We are staying at this hotel for four nights, inclusive of a weekend. There is a youth hockey team staying here as well over the weekend, possibly for a tournament. At any given time of the day there are children wandering the halls unattended, riding the elevator to each floor endlessly, and occupying the pool, when it is not unexpectedly closed for what I assume is an excess of urine in the water. It reminds me of Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Although none of them appear to be carrying a conch shell with them. I assume the parents have forsaken the children as the only time we saw them was Friday evening while they were grouped together drinking beer in the hallway by the pool. I suspect they were plotting their escape and deciding whether or not this hotel was a good forever home for their children. The hotel custodian attempted to quell the riots a few times, but he was outmatched by the speed of their little skating legs. They endlessly zipped up and down the hall until about midnight when their sugar rushes had worn off and then disappeared until morning. I suspect they found cozy places to sleep in the vents or laundry facilities until they required sustenance once again. The only evidence left of their presence was a smattering of handprints on the stainless steel in the elevator and the remnants of what appeared to be Hurricane Dorian on the surface of the pool deck. I look forward to the sequel this evening and predict an appearance by Captain Hook who may turn the tide on these Lost Boys.
