Holiday Inn Ottawa Dwtn - Parliament Hill

Hotel staff were very accommodating when our group bus was delayed. They allowed a large group to wait in the lobby to stay warm and dry! Thank you Holiday Inn!

Absolutely terrible customer service.
Constantly getting misinformed.
I’ve booked with many hotels for traveling and this is absolutely the worst customer service I’ve experienced.

Will never be booking again with Holiday Inn

I had an awesome 14 day stay at the Parliament Hill Holiday Inn on Queen Street in beautiful down town Ottawa. All of the staff were awesome including Jennie in the restaurant who fed me very well The quality and quantity of food was excellent thanks again to Jennie what an amazing experience Ashoka and Akash were awesome an amazing experience. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone looking for an amazing stay in the parliament area of this great city

Fantastic location to walk around Ottawa, visit famous sites and eat white 6 pizza and drink sultry rabbit at Rabbit hole! Ya baby! Yum! Slurp!

Stayed here for 5 nights for business in Feb 2023. Well located in Parliament Hill area of downtown. Bed was comfortable enough. Room was small and cramped with table corners, tv stand/cupboard jutting out into pathway. Heating unit in room was loud. Carpet was tacky and felt dirty. In room K-cup coffee was not replenished. Also no coffee in the lobby (really?). Underground parking was impossible. Tickets are provided to exit the garage. None of the tickets worked (repeatedly got an "expired" message on the payment screen). Had to call front desk every time to exit. And you must exit the vehicle in the path of other vehicles entering exiting, to access the payment kiosk. Two parking days were deducted from the bill (should have removed all). My company travel dept has a contract with HI. I will risk policy nonconformance next time and book elsewhere. This hotel exemplifies why HI are second/third tier hotels.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel - it was clean and quiet, and the bed was super comfortable. However, it stated on the website that it had a pool area, and we were disappointed to find out it did not have one once we arrived.

So this hotel is in a great location. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Restaurant has really good food. House salad, fish and chips.
The cons:
The rooms have a window mount air/ heat system. Very loud. I mean loud enough to have to turn it off when sleeping.
4am fire alarm. A long term guest (refugees being housed there) cooking steak at 4am set off the alarm. Like who the h#$$ cooks a steak at 4am.
Checkout was a "sorry".
Yes things happen but I guarantee if this government arrangement to use hotels for immigration wasn't in place? There would be no 4am alarms due to cooking.

Overall it was a great experience. Rooms are a bit congested and there is no room service. Restaurant at lobby level closes at 9.

Comfortable pillow top beds. Not the best place for tour buses. No baggage porter, no nus parking within a reasonable distance.

The rooms were a great size, I loved that the washroom was clean and they supplied clean towels and rags. Wifi was great as well. The room was cold because of the AC but it's nothing that warm pajamas can't solve.

Good location downtown, walking distance to the hill and to the Tulip festival. Lots of dining close by. Room was a bit small but ok

Hotel is close to things but not real close. We couldn't walk due to medical issue, do it was drive everywhere
Hotel was quiet.

Staff were amazing! King bed room was good and clean, just a little squeezed. One elevator was out so being on 10th floor was slow. Parking expensive $30 day. And surrounded by one way streets so difficult to get to. Lots to see and do around.

Absolutely wonderful stay! Staff is impeccable! I have stayed at many hotels and none were at the standard of this hotel! Clean, friendly and welcoming!

(The reservation specialist line you guys provide however is horrible, the reservation specialists have no idea what they are talking about and if I would have made a reservation through them it would have cost me 100’s of more dollars, if anyone looking to book, book directly with the hotel not through the reservation portal).

One of the best hotels I've stayed on. That was memorable. Receptionists are friendly and willing to accomodate your requests. Room is so clean, so cozy and almost have complete amenities. I love the shower room. Front row rooms has the best views. Walking distance to Lyon subway station. I will definitely come back here again.

If you need to stay closer to the downtown area of Ottawa this hotel will suffice. Upgraded clean rooms and friendly staff but keep in mind any amenities such as food and shopping are a bit of a walk and construction in the area is a bit of a nuisance right now.

Great ubication, nice people at the front desk, clean room.there is a resto bar also.the only problem was that they were doing construction works at 6.30 in the morning.not nice to wake up with drill tumbling in your head.

I was very disappointed in this hotel as I expected it to be the same standard as other Holiday Inn hotels. The staff were just okay. They did not clean the rooms because we we were staying for less than 3 nights due to COVID, which is the first time I’ve experienced a hotel not clean and blame it on COVID. The rooms were extremely old and did not feel spacious. The location is not bad, which is why I went for the hotel. The parking was full so we parked across the street.
If you’re coming to Ottawa to explore, I’d definitely suggest going for a newer hotel that is closer to Parliament Hill.

Das Personal an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und unser Zimmer war ebenfalls wundervoll. Dieses Hotel ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.

Très belles chambres, service impeccable. À part le bruit de la ventilation la nuit il n'y à rien à redire.

This place is one of my favorite hotel in Ottawa, comfy bed & pillows, spacious bathroom with shower box, great location which you can walk around downtown area and very helpful staffs.

I always choose this hotel every time when I visit Ottawa.

I stayed here for 6 nights for work. They were flexible with rates to match what my colleague got which was appreciated. I was disappointed with the room I was given knowing I was there for so long (beside a mechanical room that often had dirty linens and garbage piled up outside). There were poop stains from a previous guest on the duvet and I had to ask 5 times over 3 days for it to be replaced. Clearly there is poor communication or process between front desk and house keeping and the management were apologetic and embarrassed it happened. There were some delays in getting my receipt at checkout. The management seems disorganised so maybe it’s growing pains for a new hotel. Apart trom that it’s a good location and a nice enough hotel.

I stayed here for a few nights while looking for a place to live and ended up in the luxury King suite or something. It was bloody massive! The bed was so comfy! I didn't want to leave tbh. It had a fridge and a microwave too which was very handy. Good location although the windows are a tad thin so noise does get in.

Clean, comfortable, quiet, friendly staff, interior parking, walking distance to Parliament Hill. One of the best hotels I've been in.

Gutes Hotel in zentraler Lage mit einer schönen Aussicht auf die Stadtmitte. Wir waren im 10. Stock. Der Parliament Hill ist fussläufig zu erreichen. Auch der Service war ok. Unsere Reservierung wurde wohl verbummelt, was zum Glück kein Problem war. Ausserdem gibt ein sehr gutes Restaurant direkt am/im Hotel.

Hotel is Clean and Quiet. Cleaning staff is professional and helpful. Although Parking fare is bit expensive 25 CAD. Instead recommended to park in nearby Parking locations within 100m for 15 CAD per day max.

Room was very comfortable and clean. Front desk help gave the place my 5 star rating. If it wasn’t for them I would have leaned towards a 3 to a 4 star.
The reason I would have rated them that way was first of all the elevators were excruciatingly slow. So slow that most people were using the stairs. The stairs had quite the aroma. Not too sure if thats where they keep the garbage bins or what but there was a certain Je Ne Sais Quoi.
The place could use a coat of paint or some new carpets.
Also a shout out to the cleaning staff. They were very helpful and pleasant.

The room was great, but the hotel parking was full and the staff was absolutely no help at all trying to find parking. We're from out of town, moving our son to Ottawa for school. We don't know Ottawa at all. It took us 30 minutes driving aimlessly around the area we don't know looking for a place to park. It was disappointing.

Great Hotel! Clean rooms, Amazing air conditioning, large television and in a very safe neighbourhood. You can walk to the parliament buildings, the National Gallery and the Byward Market within a leisurely 15-20 minutes.

I struggled between a 3 or 4 star. The rooms were clean and quiet (except for the air conditioner which was held together with zip ties) and the location is great. As they indicate the parking is VERY limited which is one reason for the lower rating as well there is very little room to off load if you have a vehicle. There is public parking a short walk away. The staff were friendly but when I checked in there was only one person on the desk and there were 3 or 4 people waiting to be checked in and the phone was ringing and being put on hold.

We booked it on a weekend for only $79/night and we're so pleased. Beds were so comfy, we really had a good night sleep. Complete amenities - fridge, coffee maker, iron, air-conditioning, large LED tv, office space, bath tub, etc. Room is very clean. We didn't have a nice window view but that's fine. The location is perfect! Walking distance to the Parliament and most of downtown tourist spots. Very pleased with our stay.

Wifi kept disconnecting every time I turned off my device. Very poor service and some machines didn’t even work. Parking was a hassle and was an overall bad experience. For this price the quality should be better

Clean and spacious rooms. Above average gym in the basement. Only downside is parking is expensive, but given the location I can't complaint too much. ;)

Very poor maintenance. I booked my room for two weeks. Almost every time I get in, I needed to go down again to front desk to let me in using the master key. Fix the door lock pleaaaaaaaaaaaase it’s holiday inn down town!

They didn’t have my reservation in the system, even though I booked weeks in advance. Had to wait at the front desk for over an hour. Then they didn’t bring breakfast to my room when we ordered it, and we had to leave to the airport hungry. Wouldn’t stay here again, ever.
